Rants/raves: We arrived at my parents’ house, and the OB office near us will NOT answer my calls. Looks like they bought an in-person visit from me! You’re welcome in advance, reception lady. I wish I could go with a CNM but the closest I could find is over an hour from here and they won’t let me bring DD6 with me, and I don’t have childcare. If I were planning on delivering here it would be different. Honestly, I’m just so relieved to have finally made it here that I don’t mind the hassle (for now).
Questions: Has anyone ever gotten a maternity support belt through insurance? Mine emailed me today saying I have to pay $150, which seems ridiculous since the one I was looking at online is $60. I may be reading the bill wrong but if that’s the case I’m just going to buy it myself.
How are you feeling? Pretty good right now. Heartburn at night so I sleep propped up for about half the night, but other than that I can't complain too much.
Rants/raves: Uggghhh we are working today and tomorrow and then driving up to my parents' late at night tomorrow and I am not looking forward to the drive (6 hours). It sucks having a business (barber shop) that thrives during the holidays because you can't exactly take that time off. I mean, we could, but it would be foolish considering our income. SO yeah. But I am excited to get up there and see everyone.
How are you feeling? Mostly good! Still having sore lower back (SI joints) and hips. A little trouble sleeping, but I’m never a great sleeper.

How are you feeling? Pretty good, I'm starting to feel consistent movement. There was a day a couple days ago where she moved ALL DAY. It was the best but also I felt kicks pretty much everywhere she can reach. The last 2 days or so she has been kicking my cervix and I don't like that. I still have random days of nausea, and it also seems like if the baby moves a certain way it makes me suddenly nauseous.
Rants/raves: I'm excited for Thanksgiving! We're not doing a traditional dinner at all and instead doing things we actually like to eat and I'm excited to cook and hang out with family. Everyone took a Covid test for us so that was nice. My husband is in full dad mode after he found out a close friend we see frequently is not vaccinated and recently got Covid.

Upcoming appointments: We just had our 20 week ultrasound yesterday! Hubby was thrilled he could be there too and we were just over the moon after seeing our baby boy!💙 Next appointment won’t be until the new year!
How are you feeling? Overall I feel (cautiously) good! I think I’ve finally hit that 2nd trimester sweet spot where I have more energy, more appetite, and I feel like I can soak it in an enjoy the little miracle I’m growing! And I have to admit, I have never felt more sexy and feminine than I do right now! My curves, my filling breasts, my rounding baby belly— it all just makes me feel so divinely feminine, so empowered and amazed at what my body can do! 🥰
Rants/raves: I’ve had so many positives this past week! One rant I do have though is about our house that we’re building— at this point we’re really not sure it’ll be done before the baby arrives. I’m trying to mentally and physically prepare now for bringing the baby home to our condo before making the big move.
Questions: Has anyone moved homes either late pregnancy or with a newborn? Which do you think would be easier?
@minnie_yoga_mama To me, it would depend on whether I had professional movers coming or if we were moving ourselves. We moved ourselves these past few weeks and I wouldn’t have been able to help at all if I had been more pregnant so I would prefer to do that with a newborn. They sleep so much that it would be easy to get a lot done while they’re resting, or you could wear them. There is a six-week period after delivery where we recommend not lifting anything heavy so that would make boxes difficult to manage, but if you had enough help you could easily unpack while others dealt with moving the boxes into the new house. If professional movers are coming I’d rather do it pregnant to get it over with.
@monstera13@shlecks@dinomeetsjedi Good luck at all of your ultrasounds tomorrow! It’s so incredible to see how much they’ve grown in such a short time!❤️ So excited to see all of our babies growing in the ultrasound thread!
@aloha_mama Not sure if this will offer the same support you’re looking for, but I’ve used an SI belt that I got before becoming pregnant, when I first began having terrible SI joint dysfunction. It was only about $27 from Amazon and it’s held up great! Everything always seems more expensive when it’s charged through insurance, and my guess is you’d be able to find a pretty good quality one on Amazon that’ll last you a while. The one our pelvic floor therapist recommends is the Serola SI belt, which I think is around $50.
@missa_lyssa Happy birthday! That cake sounds amazing and I might need to steal the recipe for my birthday this year!!
@dinomeetsjedi So exciting that she’s starting to move so consistently! My anxiety levels have plummeted since I’ve started feeling him kick consistently. I feel like he’s just reassuring me, “I’m okay Mama!” It’s nice to have that piece of mind and so exciting to have that reminder that there’s an actual human growing in there!
@aloha_mama We’re actually building our house only a couple blocks away from our condo so we’re just having friends/family help us move everything in a few trips, maybe over a few days. So hopefully not too much strenuous work for me. I was hoping to get settled and just have it done before the baby arrives but now that it’s looking like the timeline’s getting pushed back, I’m hoping it’ll maybe be easier on me to move with a newborn than when pregnant anyway. Glad to hear you’re done with the traveling/moving and it went smoothly!
Good luck on everyone's ultrasounds! excited to see pictures of these lil cuties!

Upcoming appointments: Dec 8th for a quick ultrasound / growth check. I think I will probably be getting an ultrasound every time from now on for growth checks due to my history. Lots of anxiety around this appt since its when I found out there were problems last time. I haven't decided if I should make DH come or not. It would be nice to have him there for support, but it such a circus whenever we both have to go because we have to find a babysitter and both take off work, etc. Ugh. Considering I will get so many ultrasounds it doesn't feel necessary to have him come to every single one.
How are you feeling? Overall pretty good. Still have some nights where I can't eat any of the meat at dinner but no issues cooking it or being around it which is a nice improvement. Feeling lots of kicks depending on the position he's in. Sometimes its a ton and other times its super quiet (which of course gives me anxiety). The other night he was straight up dancing on my bladder and I had to go pee like every 20 mins. I also felt him roll over for the first time too which was a crazy feeling. I never felt that with DS5 (anterior placenta).
Rants/raves: nervous about Thanksgiving in general. My dad's wife won't vaxx and is overall crazy so it's always stressful around her. DS5 doesn't particularly feel comfortable around her (I don't blame him, she makes zero effort to get to know him but throws a fit when he won't hug her goodbye) My dad takes regular COVID tests for work and took one on Sunday for us so I feel hopeful that it's going to be ok on that aspect. Nervous about seeing the in-laws. We don't tend to get along well when I'm prego. My MIL is super opinionated especially when it comes to "her" grandbabies. Couple that with hormones and it makes for a not fun time. We haven't told the FIL that we're having a baby yet. His English is pretty limited so its a conversation that needs to happen in person and we haven't seen him in a while. Otherwise, I'm really looking forward to seeing some of my family I haven't seen in a while. We have a bunch of cousins really close in age and we all get along really well.
We also pulled all of our baby stuff out of storage. There's so much stuff!! I have a lot of work to do to sort through it all. I think we're just missing a few things (bottles, pump parts, rocking chair, nursery decor) and then we should be set!
Upcoming appointments: Had ultrasound today and everything looks great 💙, then next one is mid December. I'll do my glucose test around then too.
How are you feeling? I'm on allll the meds for nausea, but haven't been needing to take Zofran as much lately which I'm happy about. Otherwise just tired. Got my booster today and chugged Gatorade so hopefully that does the trick and I don't feel yucky from that.
Rants/raves: I'm super excited to see family this weekend and have DD join her first family holiday! So crazy that we haven't done an extended family holiday since before she was born. Makes sense, but still wild.
Questions: STM+ do you have a favorite wrap? I have the ergo baby embrace but didn't use it much, and looking to see if there are any Black Friday deals around.
@lemonlove86 I had the k'tan wrap and liked it. I didn't compare with any other wraps, but I was generally happy with it. Once DS5 got bigger we swapped to the Tula which I found much more comfortable and less complicated than the LilleBaby.
@lemonlove86 Happy Baby Carrier is by far my favorite - I think everyone in my other BMB has one at this point. Folds up like a ring sling but easier to use, more ergonomic, can use from newborn, etc. But my fav actual wrap is Beluga Baby - extreeeemely soft.
@minnie_yoga_mama so we moved partially when DD3 was 5mo and then fully when she was 13mo, and it was hard - and she was an easy baby. But my pregnancy was super, super rough in 3rd tri, so I don't think I physically would have been able to participate. If you're pretty physically strong I would definitely lean toward moving in pregnancy. The downside is you really will not be able to picture what you'll need for an older kid lol like we moved at 13mo into the house we bought, and we honestly got super lucky because we definitely looked at houses and made offers on houses that would have been NIGHTMARES with 18mo+, we just didn't know yet.
@aloha_mama the maternity support belt I have was like $30 I think? I also bought a ton my last pregnancy - none of which were as helpful as this one, though. I didn't even know it was an option for insurance to cover it.

How are you feeling? today was a really good day, but you never know. I feel like I get a few good days and then a ton of bad ones.
Rants/raves: DD3 went to the dentist today for the 2nd time, and she was SO excited. It's like her favorite place. You'd think she was at Disney. She's very odd lol she's just always been so into brushing and flossing her teeth. I seriously bribe her with teeth brushing or flossing, it's insane. So that was fun lol. Buuuut our garage door broke randomly last night, got stuck 4 inches open, so we had to pay $125 to have that fixed which is always just a great time.
@minnie_yoga_mama we moved with an almost 2 month old and a 2 yo. DH had to do pretty much all the packing while I took care of the kids. Our family was also able to help with the day of the move - loading and unloading since we only moved a couple hours away. Which definitely made it more manageable.

How are you feeling? Pretty good! Plenty of BHs but also some baby rolls - DH felt one last night.
Rants: this weekend has me so stressed. We’re doing the dinner with a couple other families and we’ve got so many food allergies/intolerances between us that even making mashed potatoes seems more complicated than it should be. And someone mentioned they usually cook the turkey in a bag dusted with flour - I never realized this was a thing! Please don’t kill my ability to absorb nutrients while I’m pregnant.
Raves: I’ve been addressing Christmas envelopes as my downtime activity and I think I’ve got all the family/friends ones done that need to be mailed. Just the work ones left, which can be delivered there.
@doxiemoxie212 Which one do you have? I didn’t know insurance covered it either but when I mentioned to my OB I was already having hip and lower back pain she wrote me a prescription. But if it’s $165 like they quoted I’m not even going to bother and I’ll just get the one I want from Belly Bandit.
@aloha_mama this one. It's specifically for SI joint stability, but it helps with SPD as well. If you're just needing something to support your bump (like having lower back pain but higher up than your SI joint, if that makes sense) then I would look into Bao Bei products - developed by pelvic floor PTs.
ETA: the key with this one is you need to keep it low enough, so it should sit across the middle of your butt and almost around your pubic bone in front.
@dinomeetsjedi I also have the moments where baby's movement makes me nauseous or almost lightheaded...? I found out with my first son it was from when he was flipping or rolling his whole body and making a lot slide around. So strange.

Upcoming appointments: Just did anatomy scan yesterday and another ultrasound just before Christmas to keep me extra monitored.
How are you feeling? Still not feeling as good as I would have liked but definitely better than I was a few weeks ago.
Rants/raves: My son turned 3 last week and we had a small party over the weekend. He loved it and has been carrying around 2 of his toys telling us how much he loves them. One is a Woody doll from Toy Story and it is the cutest f-ing thing watching him play with it. Also, he went with us to the anatomy scan and did amazing. He was excited to see his brother who he still insists is named Snack.
@aloha_mama Ditto to @doxiemoxie212’s SI belt suggestion— this is the same exact one I use and it works great! I try to situate it low over my hips, kind of where my tailbone would be. So helpful, if anyone here is looking for relief from acute or sharp back pain in that area! If experiencing an acute bout of pain it’s typically recommended to wear it 24/7 until the sharpness of that pain subsides.
@robbenson 😂 I love the nickname Snack! When my mom was pregnant with me, my brother who was 5 or 6 at the time wanted to name me Ice Cream. I take it as a sign of affection that he wanted to name me after something he loved, lol.

@minnie_yoga_mama I think moving with a newborn would be easier than with a toddler. I moved when my DD4 was 18 months and it was so stressful trying to situate her naps, meals, bedtime amidst the chaos. I’d much rather move while pregnant assuming I was mobile and able to unpack/organize.
@doxiemoxie212 If you had to just get one, would you go for the Happy Baby or the Beluga? I already have an Ergo but looking for a soft carrier/wrap that’s not too complicated to use.

Rants/raves: I am visiting family and babysitting my 9 month old nephew and just loving the baby cuddles! Can’t wait!!
Questions: I need to go to an event in a few weeks where I am not ready to share the baby news. I am searching for dresses that help hide the bump. If anyone has any ideas or reccomendations, please let me know!!!
@Ivorytower2 happy baby, the OG - could use from birth to 2yo (wraps are really only until 3mo). Join the FB group - the resale value is insane. Wait for the next color season drop unless they're doing a black Friday deal, but they probably aren't because they're usually sold out.
@Ivorytower2 I think for the dress it depends on your body shape. Could you share a photo of you neck down in a dress? But I think generally black hides much more than other colors.
@Ivorytower2 I loved the Boba Wrap. I thought the patterns were pretty and wrapping them wasn't too hard. They were capable of maintaining tightness around my body and baby despite their stretchiness so I never felt the kiddos were gonna fall out. I recieved as a gift, but my kiddos were out of it early because they start big.

How are you feeling? Pretty good! Things sound good to eat, I'm hungry all the time. I'm getting Braxton Hicks, especially in the car which is when I've always felt them most, and I can feel baby move quite often, even outside of laying in bed which is when I was feeling it.
Rants/raves:Thankgiving Break!! Rant: This is the beginning of break season for schools-everything is a transition into or out of break or an actual break itself until January 3. So my own kids and all the kids I work with are going to be constantly disregulated, which is fun.

ETA: the key with this one is you need to keep it low enough, so it should sit across the middle of your butt and almost around your pubic bone in front.

How are you feeling? incredibly anxious (see below)
Rants/raves: I've been MIA because we had a bit of a pregnancy related scare last week, with lots of bleeding and a hospital stay. baby is moving a good bit and that is always reassuring, but just want to get to my doc and talk it all out. (I wasn't at my hospital/with my care team when the bleeding happened)

How are you feeling? I physically feel great but still having periods of nausea every day and still some bad days. Still on Bonjesta and Zofran. Anyone else in my same boat? I am much better than a few weeks ago but really hoping this clears up over the next few weeks! Documenting my sickness in case I ever come down with a case of baby fever for #4 in the future!!
Estimated due date/ weeks + days: April 29/ 18 weeks tomorrow!

How are you feeling? Still having a hard time sleeping through the night, but overall I’m pretty good. I can feel the baby moving around, which I love!
Rants/raves: I had a liver ultrasound on Tuesday, and the tech was SO AWESOME and decided to take a look at baby as well just for fun. It was such a great experience. The other exciting thing is I just found out my SIL is pregnant with her first, and is due in July!!! My parents, who thought they’d never get grandkids, are going from 0 to 2 in 2022! It’s been a fun day comparing pregnancy stuff. :-)
