1st Trimester

Is lack of symptoms normal? What week did your pregnancy symptoms start?

I am currently 6W1D. This is my second pregnancy, my first ended in a missed miscarriage at 8 weeks so naturally my anxiety is really getting the best of me. My symptoms this pregnancy is much different than my first. I almost feel too good this time around that it’s alarming me. I have zero breast tenderness, nausea, fatigue, etc. I’m not spotting, bleeding, or cramping. I know that’s a good thing, but I’m still worried! I would love to hear your experiences and when did symptoms start for you. If anyone that had a lack of symptoms, did you have a successful pregnancy? I just don’t know what’s normal and what’s not. My first ultrasound isn’t for another couple weeks.

  • Hi! How are you doing?? I would say not to go off “how you’re feeling or not feeling” I would say for me I only felt pretty strong symptoms of tiredness, breast tenderness, and constipation shortly after taking a pregnancy test. Then they slowly started going away and almost completely. I got super freaked out then read on here that it’s completely normal. Hope that helps!

  • You have a missed period right? That's a symptom.

Some people have zero symptoms some have many.  My symptoms were literally a missed period and my 1st ever migraine in 2nd tri.  Literally there was nothing else.

Symptoms do not indicate the outcome of a pregnancy.
  • I'm now 32 weeks with Baby 2 and for both I had almost no symptoms (just the missed period and now with this second baby I am a little more tired than normal).

It's hard to not worry (I even worried with Baby 2 despite it working out with Baby 1), but it does happen and is a lucky thing

This is my third and each pregnancy has been different when it comes to symptoms. My first, I had sore boobs immediately and the rest of my symptoms didn't come until week 8 or so...and that was really mild nausea at night. But it was an easy pregnancy, no major symptoms during the first trimester.

With my second, I had zero symptoms. I was shocked when I finally got my BFP. No sore boobs, nothing. Later, my biggest symptom was fatigue but that didn't come until at least week 10.

This time, sore boobs again and some nausea at night and I'm only 5 weeks. So, really, it's super early to have any symptoms and our bodies are different every time we get pregnant.

Also, both of my previous pregnancies were girls so the difference in symptoms meant nothing when it came to gender...just sayin' for all the people who think it does. :)
  • I’m in the exact same boat. I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks last year. I had a bunch of symptoms and then they just stopped. I’m 6 weeks 1 day today and have had sore boobs on and off and I’m tired (but might be because I started a new job and quit caffeine).. but I went to get blood work early and my numbers were increasing, so they told me to just take it easy and take care of myself. I keep wishing for more symptoms to confirm things! But everyone keeps saying it’s normal to have no symptoms or symptoms that come and go.
  • I read somewhere that it's not common to be pregnant and have no pregnancy symptoms but it is possible. If the pregnancy test is positive, you are most likely to be pregnant. There is no substantial reason why some women have no pregnancy symptoms but it doesn't mean there is anything wrong.
  • I'm 5 weeks and 6 days today. Have had 0 symptoms other than a missed period and cramping that felt like menstrual cramps. It does freak me out too. Haven't seen a doctor yet but have taken 4 tests.
  • It's definitely normal to have zero symptoms this early, or even throughout pregnancy. Some things you might not even call symptoms but they're happening to you all the same. Like, constipation or heart burn. Especially if those things happen outside of pregnancy regularly. For me, then only real symptom is sore boobs and burping a lot. I don't know if burping is a real symptom but since it's incredibly frequent compared to before pregnancy, I'll add it to my very short symptoms list.
  • Also, do realize a missed period is the main symptom of pregnancy!

  • This is exactly what's happening to me, symptoms faded away since my 3rd week. I am now 4wks +. How are you?
