Rave: I just ordered my almost 5 year old custom Bareknaked Ladies shirts for Christmas and I am so excited! He loves all of their songs and it so cute to hear him sing them haha.
@jellie603 I've been on Zoloft to help with anxiety for about a year. I've discussed with my OB and he's good with me staying on it, though we may try to wean during 3rd tri.

@runnergirl2018 the covid and family stuff over the holidays is so tough. It helps me some knowing my family is vaccinated (even if they are around others who aren't) as their ability to get it or spread it is lower. And hopefully no one is coming to get togethers sick. Our one extended family get together everyone there (aunts, uncles, cousins) are all vaccinated and my grandma has gotten her booster. I hope everyone stays healthy ❤️

@jellie603 I say take whatever you can that's approved by your doctor
@laeberge3 I feel like we get the short end of the stick (sometimes!) having early pregnancy during the holidays because it can be hard to hide!
@cmhme sorry to hear about the progesterone! Will you be off that soon anyway?
@tuxielove93 sorry about your family focusing so much on your weight!
@runnergirl2018 I think at this point there's no point in worrying about others being around unvaccinated people. If you are only around vaccinated people your risk is quite low. It really only becomes a concern if you have direct contact with a covid positive person.
@bearsandbeets7 what in the world is shacket? Or is that a typo? lol
@stardustskies cold hands (and feet!) are the worst!
@sunshineandlemons but then on the flip side it's so warm in your socks and boots that your feet are all sweaty when you take them out
@melanier26 I've gone the handfuls of cereal route when I need something quick
@quelinda99 I hate water on it's own and pretty much only drink it with Mio added to it

@jellie603 Oh wow. That’s hard. Is there any way you could skip the trip this year? Blame it on covid or something?
@cmhme I’m sorry about your reaction to the progesterone. That’s weird that it’s just now happening. Do you know how much longer you’ll have to take it for?
@tuxielove93 I’m sorry your family hasn’t been supportive of your weight loss. That has to be so hard. I’m sure they just can’t relate. But that’s not an excuse for not showing concern. I hope you’re able to keep eating some more and gain some of the weight back soon. Big hugs.
@runnergirl2018 I think if you’re vaccinated and so are the people in your family you’re planning on seeing then I think you should be fine. But honestly the recommendations change so much, it’s hard to keep track of.
@bekas54626560 For the first appointment they usually just have you do an intake with the nurse. But all clinics are different. You may actually be seeing your OB. You could always call back and ask.
@inthewoods23 I think we’re still pretty small and getting to know each other. We could keep the 1 check in thread for another week or 2 imo. But I’m open to changing whenever. As far as old wives tales, the only one I trust is the heartburn one. If you have a ton of heartburn then your baby will come out with a lot of hair. That was definitely true for DS lol. The early heartbeat being an indicator did not hold true for us. DS was in the upper 170 for a while before dropping back down.

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Teem finding out!
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: grain of sea salt
Upcoming appointments: I just had my repeat blood draw today. HCG is at 794. That gives a doubling time of 46.7 hours. I was hoping for a little higher but this is perfectly normal, so I need to just chill. First ultrasound will be around 7w, so week of Dec 13th. I still need to get that scheduled with the RE. Then we will have a nurse intake with my OB on Dec 13th as well. My first appointment with the OB wont be until Jan 11th (her soonest opening!). I’m still in shock at how far out she’s booked. It’s insane. I wonder if there’s going to be a baby boom soon.
How are you feeling?: I’m feeling ok. I did have some slight nausea for about 10 minutes today. It wasn’t too intense and I was able to eat something to make it pass. Hopefully it continues (which feels weird to say) and provides me reassurance that I am indeed KU lol.
Rants/Raves: I’m having suck a hard time concentrating at work. I could really use the distraction right now while we wait in-between appointments. But this week is short, so that will help.
I want to tell my mom about the pregnancy, but both my grandma’s live at my parents house. So I know it’s going to be hard to find time away from them to tell her. Last time with my son we just told her over the phone because I was having anxiety about it. This time I wanted it to be a little more special for her. So… I don’t know when I’m going to do it yet.
Questions:
GTKY: what's your favorite cold weather accessory? I hate the cold. So I need all of the traditional gear. I try to remind myself every winter of this saying (it helps me not hate the winter as much), “There’s no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing.”

@bearsandbeets7 I can’t stand the word shacket. Kinda like how moist bother some people, I just can’t do shacket. I don’t know what’s wrong with me. Lol! They are cute and look warm so I would totally wear one.

@tuxielove93 Apparently if you lose 7% or more of your body weight, you qualify for a HG diagnosis, even if you aren't vomiting much. Might be worth it to get some meds if you're interested in some.
@quelinda99 I've been doing a lot of lemon water lately. Seems to help with the nausea a bit too.
@inthewoods23 None of the old wives tales really. I mostly think they're fun. I heard one where you take two chairs and put a towel on each one. Someone hides a fork under one towel and a spoon under the other. Then, you choose which to sit on. If you sit on the fork, it's a boy. If it's the spoon, girl. Completely silly, but why not!
ETA: @ binxybaby Im so dang sick I can’t really not eat what actually sounds good. I was stuck on deli ham for a minute. So I microwaved it to steaming. That’s the CDC rec if you “do” have deli meat . That’s good to know about HG! I thought it had to be excessive vomiting which I don’t actually have thank god. Mostly extreme food aversions which is making it very difficult to eat and drink

@LJMoon6 We actually have this huge (and really fun and awesome) whole-company conference/trip that we haven't had in years....and it is scheduled for my due date week. So I am already missing that. Because of that, I do want to go on this mini trip - I have a huge FOMO haha.
@binxybaby is Zoloft helpful for like "panic attack" situations? Or is it more of a maint. drug? I feel like my therapist said Ativan was the way to go because it was like almost an immediate response.
