GTKY Tuesday 11.16

How many apps are you using to track all things baby? List them if you want!

I technically have 6 😬 but half of them require a subscription to really utilize and get information beyond the "you're X weeks today". Clearly they were my TTC tracking apps haha.

Re: GTKY Tuesday 11.16

  • The bump, what to expect, pregnancy after loss support, glow nurture (not a fan)
i was using Ovia pregnancy but stopped  but May go back. I liked tracking my symptoms on that app and looking up safe meds
  • Loading the player...
  • The Bump, and then my Fitbit app is what I used for menstrual/ ovulation tracking.
  • The Bump is all for now. I think I had Wonder Weeks (maybe?) when my daughter was tiny, so I'll probably reactivate something like that for the newborn stage...probably nothing else for pregnancy. I need fewer reasons to pick up my phone during the day :D

Related (but not baby): I just downloaded the Tody app today. Does anyone else here use it? I'm hoping it will help take some of the mental load out of household chores/cleaning (and by extension, help us to actually do said chores/cleaning!)...
  • @L1C4gal i need to know more about this chore/cleaning app
  • Oh my gosh! I don't have that one, I have Sweepy. And it's amazing. Makes organizing home cleaning sooo much easier.
  • I just have the bump and what to expect downloaded. However, my phone sent apps I wasn’t using to the cloud but I can still see them. Those apps are baby story (good for documenting monthly pics when baby is here), baby center (similar to the bump and WTE for pregnancy tracking) and baby tracker (good for tracking feedings, sleep, and diaper changes).
  • I’ve only got the bump. I may need to consider another one for once baby gets here. I’ve never done the wonder weeks but thinking maybe I should try it. Infant phase with DD2 was a lot harder than DD1 - I got humbled so this time around I want to be poised to have some extra help.
  • Baby tracker was great for DH and I with DS but nothing for pregnancy. I even only use the bump on the computer and not on my phone. Call me old ;-)
    Our Journey:
    Me: 40
    TTC since 2017
    3/18-9/18- IUI's
    11/18- IVF #1
    1/19- IVF #2
8/19- DE Cycle #1- 5 PGS tested normal
    9/19- FET #1- SUCCESS! May 2020
    10/21- FET #2- SUCCESS! July 2022
  • I just used TB last time to track all things pregnancy. But we also used an app, and I forget the name, that helped us with choosing a name! It is like Tinder for baby names where you sync with your partner, it gives you names and you swipe right/left based on if you like it or not. Then it tells you which ones you and your partner matched on.
Honestly, that is how we chose our name for DS1. We had a really hard time because we both worked at a placement facility for at-risk teen boys and there was negative attachment to any name that any of those kids had haha.
  • I use The Bump, BabyCenter and I used Mira for menstrual and ovulation tracking. I used Wonder Weeks for my first to monitor sleep regressions and big growth weeks and milestones.
  • @jellie603 we used that name app too! It was great - I also don't remember the name but I think it was something very generic like "babyname"? Does that ring a bell? It was a great app - we had a HARD time choosing and eventually went with a family name.
  • @jellie603 yep, it’s called Babyname! We used it too. In fact we bought an expansion pack for DD2 and still didn’t settle on a name. Lol

however when the doc handed her to me, I knew her name right away so 🤷‍♀️
  • The Bump, BabyCenter, Ovia Pregnancy, What to Expect, Pregnancy+

I like Pregnancy+ because it gives realistic photos of baby...as terrifying as that is at this point 🤣
    Pregnancy TickerSaveSave
  • I just have The Bump, Ovia Pregnancy and BabyCenter but I am not a huge fan of that one. I honestly didn’t know there were so many! I do want to find one that someone talked about on a podcast I listen to, it compared the baby size weekly to fun millennial childhood things.
  • @bearsandbeets7 I think that might be the ovia pregnancy app? You can change your theme to "fun & games," or a few other options.

  • @LJMoon6 thank you! I’ll have to play around on the app! I haven’t looked at it much since I downloaded it.
  • @bearsandbeets7 the What To Expect app has an option to compare to fruit, movie/tv props or 80s/90s nostalgia
  • @runninggirl2018 Oh I bet that's it!
