@fantasyflyte I hear ya. At least it’s considered a classic now! I don’t think many songs from the current era will make it.

I have 2 independent random things to bring up today, but they are on opposite ends of the spectrum. So I’ll post this for now and then broach the other topic in a few days.

@acleverusername There is still a long way to go but things are looking up! Menopause (or "the menopause" as it's called around here) is getting a lot of publicity lately. There are television programs and articles on it and it's quite the talking point in the UK at the moment.

@Paturkey I forgot to tag you in that article but definitely thought about asking you to provide your 2 cents. I wonder what the nightly news sounds like when menopause is "all over the news". Imagine this discussed on CNN or Fox? Lol.

🤣🤣 @acleverusername The idea of it being discussed on US news is depressingly laughable. Menopause is now part of the sex ed curriculum here (why wasn't it already?) and politicians are aiming to develop a UK-wide menopause support strategy. More companies are also offering support at work with flexible working etc. For example, my employer has menopause 101 workshops for employees and formal guidance for managers. We may still be living in a patriarchy but I'm very thankful to the women here in their 50s-60s who have had enough and are forcing everyone's hand. There is still a long way to go regarding all things reproduction but it feels like they are moving in the right direction.

@Paturkey Thank you for your 2 cents! Sounds like someone's got it together. I'd like to think that Canada is a bit more progressive than US when it comes to these kinds of social programs, but it sounds like they've got a lot to learn still. Maybe that'll happen when I reach menopause. Here's to hoping!
