Hey all. Currently going through my first loss. It was a successful FET that ended in a loss at 5 weeks. I had some light bleeding this weekend and betas kept dropping.

Status: waiting for my cycle to restart

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with and/or what is going well? This has been so hard but I have had some really amazing support from friends and family. I gave myself two days to just stay in bed and cry and then forced myself to get up. Staying moving and keeping busy has helped me so far.

Any testing coming up/any recent results? Repeat beta this Friday to see if it has gone down to 0.

Questions? What can I expect in terms of a period now? I'm assuming due to the loss it will be really heavy but I honestly have no idea what to expect.

GTKY: When do you decorate for the holidays? We always decorate the day after Thanksgiving.

  • @shortstack930 I’m so sorry to welcome you to this thread. I’m glad you were able to take some time to yourself to process the grief, but I agree that after a certain point routine and busyness helps too. I was a little farther along than you when I had my MC, but I bled for about 10 days and I’d say at least 3-4 days of it fairly heavy.

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with and/or what is going well? Running a 5K was my goal/distraction for myself after my MC, and training has been going pretty well. I feel stronger and healthier than I have in awhile. I am struggling with feeling hopeful this cycle and knowing how disappointed I will be if it doesn’t work out. Any ideas for how to beat yourself into submission and squash the optimism? :#

Any testing coming up/any recent results? Probably testing on Friday

    Questions? See above

GTKY: When do you decorate for the holidays? Usually I decorate the day after Thanksgiving, but this year we’ll be out of town. Trying to decide if it’s a major faux pas to decorate before Thanksgiving when we are the ones hosting the meal…Probably, but still tempting since I like to have decorations up as long as possible.

  • @shortstack930 im so sorry you’re going through this, but I’m so glad you have family and friends there to support your. I isolated myself and I wish I wouldn’t have. To answer your Q, my period wasn’t really much heavier, wasn’t longer at all except for the 3 days of spotting after, but was much more painful. I’d assume it’s different for everyone, but when I was in the thick of it, I saw a lot of women saying more painful. I hope it’s not too bad for you.

@abjm0325 i copied your bold responses idea, I think it makes it much easier to read! It’s on my bucket list to do a 5k but I’m not a runner at all. Are you? Or is this your first? What training program are you using? As for beating yourself into submission, I have no ideas. This is the first cycle I’ve really felt positive since and I think it’s because we had some obstacles in some of the cycles prior.

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with and/or what is going well? Today is month 6, cycle 6, day 6. I’m trying to remain very positive this cycle (despite the obvious strange number combo I have going today) and for the cycles coming up. Although, to be honest, I’m terrified to see those lines again. I’m due for my annual ob appt but have been putting it off in hopes of getting ku’ed and skipping it…

Any testing coming up/any recent results? Nope.

    Questions? Nope

GTKY: When do you decorate for the holidays? The weekend after thanksgiving and not a second sooner!!
  • @abjm0325 I trained for a 5k last year because it was on my bucket list! Because of covid I couldn't do an actual race but I did a virtual one from home. Are you using a program to train?

@paytonpedro I completely understand being terrified to see two lines again. I told DH the other day one of the worst parts of this is that even if we get KU again I'm not even going to be able to be happy about it for a long time because I'm going to be so terrified of losing it again.

  • @shortstack930 I told my husband the exact same thing. It definitely adds a new element to ttc that you just get to be naive about until you loose one. ☹️
  • @shortstack930 and @paytonpedro I definitely wasn't a runner! I did a couple 5Ks years ago, but hadn't run for at least 4 years. I joined a local run club for an 8-week stint, which provides me with a plan, a coach, and an (optional) weekly meetup to run with others. It has been a good combination of structure and laid back for me!
