Hey all, I'm back.

Ages (you and SO): 34 and 33

How many months have you been TTC?: This will be 5/5 and 1/1 AL

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: IVF

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) I have two girls ages 7 and 3. I'm a L&D nurse. *TW* just had a loss at 5 weeks after a successful IVF FET. Betas started dropping on Friday and I had some light bleeding over the weekend. Beta today was down to 27 *end TW*

I'm sad to be back so soon but I'm so grateful to have such a wonderful place of support to return to

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.)
I have a little boy age 3 and two fur babies (dog & cat). I am an IT business analyst. Hobbies include reading, planner decorating, and doing my nails (with nail wraps).

I'm really excited to be back on the bump and interacting with you all. I was on this board before my 1st pregnancy and found this community very welcoming.

@darkrose88 welcome back! Just as a heads up, some of the rules might have changed since you were here last. For e.g. mentions of LCs are openly allowed in this and the TFAS thread. And also, they're permitted in other threads as long as there's TW'ed and extremely pertinent to the conversation. Otherwise, I hope that your stay with us is short but sweeeeeeeet!

How many months have you been TTC?: only started actively trying the past two months

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: tracking of hormones (E3G, LH, PdG

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.). I am currently taking a part time degree and working as a full time administrator. I am going complete my degree soon, thus am actively trying to conceive. Not sure if it is too late since i am already 37.

welcome @teddybear4e! respect on the part-time student life/full-time employment life combo. that's a lot to juggle. you are not the only person on this board who is trying to get KU while in their late 30s (and possibly beyond? I do a bad job of keeping track of people's ages on here). At 37, statistically it's going to be less easy to get pregnant than when you were a few years younger, but lots and lots of people in their late 30s have no problems getting pregnant. You won't know till you know! Hopefully you are in and outta this board and on to join a BMB (bump month board) before you know it. If you do wind up sticking around here for a while, though, here's a couple of thoughts I have as an older TTCer (first time as well!) who is struggling with infertility:

give it a couple more months (i think the general rule is 6 months of ttc naturally after age 35 before looking for help), but then consider going to your doctor and asking to get basic bloodwork for fertility-related markers, getting your partner to do a sperm analysis, and having, finally, an ultrasound and possibly an HSG to check that you don't have any structural stuff going on (blocked tubes, fibroids, etc.). I can speak from experience that it sucks to spend long months trying and then discover that there was something obvious getting in the way that whole time (in my case, fibroids that i had to deal with surgically).

I do have multiple fibroids and have seen a gynae previously for this issue. However, the gynae said it was common and did not ask me to remove it. I seriously hope this will not affect my chances of getting pregnant :)

@teddybear4e did you ask the gynecologist at the time whether they were likely to have any effect on fertility? many are totally irrelevant to your fertility (especially those that "live" on the outside of the uterus). more troublesome are those that grow thru the uterine wall (which is what I had) or set up camp inside the uterus. Both of the latter can get in the way of an ability for an embryo to implant. If you're not sure, I'd make an appointment to have someone chat with you about the implications.

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) I’m a speech pathologist who works from home providing teletherapy. I love it! We have a sweet golden retriever named Blue who I adore. This is our first time TTC, no other children.

@teddybear4e Welcome! So, don't worry about being 37 and TTC, but I would echo everything that @optimistgardener said. In fact, I would go a step further and set up an appointment with an RE (reproductive endocrinologist) since you have a potentially subfertile condition. It may take some time to get that appointment, so starting to look into it now, is wise. On top of that, your partner is older, and men's fertility starts to decline in their late 30's so getting both a semen analysis AND a dna fragmentation test (NOTE: this is going to something you fight for) is a good idea. The other thing to keep in mind, if you're still here in a few months, and you're starting to meet with a fertility specialist, you should count 2-3 months for testing before any treatment.
