  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 20 weeks +5 days, due March 9

Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: Baby’s palm is evidently the size of an altoid?

    FTM/STM/TTM+: Complicated

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Pink

Upcoming Appointments: November 3 for a cervical length scan at MFM, November 10 regular OB

How are you feeling?: Tired. Hate to be a broken record, but emotionally I’m still super shaky. Anxiety is always just bubbling under the surface. I try not to focus on it, but it won’t go away. Viability can’t get here soon enough.

Rants/Raves: The second vax shot I was dreading was arguably less of a deal than the first, which is a relief.

Also, it’s funny when you tell people you aren’t revealing the baby’s name how they still drop suggestions. Lol Like what do they expect? My eyes to light up and me to say “You’re right, that’s what we’re going with now! That’s so much better than what we planned!” :P
I joked with the hubby that in response to name questions we start throwing out the cringiest and/or fandom referencing name combos possible, different ones each time.
The main worry is someone believing us and getting a blanket monogrammed “Padme Jarjar” or “Elsa Anna”

I know at the end of the day they’re just throwing in their two cents, it just gets a tad annoying when you’ve already said more than once you’re not doing a name reveal.

    Questions: None for now.

GTKY: How many siblings do you have? Let's hear about your families!
I have 1 younger brother. He’s manipulative, lazy, and a jerk 90% of the time so I keep my guard up around him.
It’s sad, but I just can’t trust him.

I have two amazing SILs though.

  • @faithmovesmountains padma jarjar and elsa anna ....i'm dying. My DD would love a kid named elsa anna. Thinking of you for the next weeks till viability!
@jenis_fan_for_life definitely haven't ordered any baby stuff at all. With DD we didn't do the nursery until about 6 weeks before she was born. This one will be lucky if it's 6 minutes at the rate i'm going lol.

    EDD / Weeks + Days: 3/20 19+1

Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: size of a hotdog?

    FTM/STM/TTM+: stm

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: green

Upcoming Appointments: nov 1 for AS and OB!

How are you feeling?: Pretty good. Feeling more movement (I'm pretty sure) which is helpful for my anxiety.

Rants/Raves: both? Had a nice weekend at the in-laws and they do an extreme pumpkin display which was cool and DD loved. But they are not great at cleaning so MH's dust allergies were awful and we found mouse poop in the room DD sleeps. People get mice, that's not a biggie for me, but it was on the toys and spaces she was playing in plain sight. Ugh.

    Questions: i don't think so.

GTKY: How many siblings do you have? Let's hear about your families! I'm the oldest of 3. My sister is married to a man with severe uncontrolled mental illness and he's emotionally abusive but she is not ready to see it. It has caused a lot of issues with my family in general. We talk, but we are not as close as we used to be or i wish we were. I always try to keep the door open for her for the time she's ready to get out.
My brother lives far away but has really grown up in the last few years and we are close. He has a girlfriend who is great and i hope they have a future together. They are both coming to my house for christmas (and my parents too) and i am soooo excited!

    @faithmovesmountains Padme Jarjar  🤪😂

@mogantu oh man, the mice poop visible would do me in. 🤢 We have an old house and have had our own share of critters but visible poop…yuuuuuuck

Upcoming Appointments: AS this morning and MFM consult, OB Nov 22

How are you feeling?: Good! Was told today I have an anterior placenta so that’s why I’ve felt less consistent movement. That’s so helpful to know!  She’s looking perfect. 🥰 Only new thing is because of my cancer diagnosis last year (3 month PP, melanoma) they recommend sending my placenta to the lab after birth to confirm no melanoma spread. Melanoma is one of the cancers that can spread to the placenta. That’s kinda unnerving but I also know that’s super rare so it’s good to do the testing just to be sure. Just kinda feel like I can’t get “past” that scare.

Rants/Raves: Just happy to see a wiggly, perfect baby today!

    Questions: natm

GTKY: How many siblings do you have? Let's hear about your families! I’m the eldest of 3 and we’re pretty spread out. I’m 5.5 years older than my brother and 12 years older than my sis. But we’re all very close and I love them both dearly. My brother has 3 kids and my sis probably doesn’t want kids but she’s getting married next summer so that’s exciting (though stressful considering I’m MOH and it’ll only be 3 months PP).

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Blue 💙

Upcoming Appointments: November 3rd AS, 17th OB - had a heartbeat check this afternoon and everything is sounding good 🤞

How are you feeling?: Same same same. Sick and stressed. Plus I wrecked my knee chasing my 2 year old as she decided to run towards the road in the park the other day. And then I messed up my shoulder. So....that on top of being sick is always fun.

Rants/Raves: I got my flu shot at my appointment today...so 1 less thing to worry about!

    Questions:

GTKY: How many siblings do you have? Let's hear about your families!
I have an older brother and younger sister. My brother and I are 2 years apart but we share a birthday. He has 3 kids who are all teenagers. I  not a fan of him or his wife, but love his kids. I'm close with my sister who is almost 4 years younger. She lives 2 hours away with her man and is childless by choice. I love her but she causes me more stress than anyone else in the world!
  • @jenis_fan_for_life we are sourcing most furniture secondhand. I didn’t feel like dealing with shipping times and delays. (Mini crib and mattress are new, but everything else isn’t). Also excited about not having to put any furniture pieces together.
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: March 10th, 20+4

Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: babylist says she’s the size of a trolls doll.

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Pink

    Upcoming Appointments: nothing until 11/17

How are you feeling?: Feel bloated 99% of the day. Need to invest in some maternity scrubs so Imm more comfortable. Also- anyone else winded by the slightest amount of movement? Im breathing hard all day. Can’t remember when that started with my first. Still having tons of braxton hicks during the day despite lots of water and rest when I can. OB totally shrugged it off- which is reassuring but also hoped he would have at least asked me some questions about it.

Rants/Raves: Still waiting on AS results 😭

    Questions: Natm.

GTKY: How many siblings do you have? Let's hear about your families! I’m the oldest of 5. Two younger sisters within 5 yrs of me and two younger brothers who are 10+12 years younger. None of them live too close so we don't see each other a lot. My sisters are extremely close to each other which often leaves me feeling really left out. They are also refusing to get the covid vaccine so idk when they’ll get to meet this baby. Maybe once she’s vaccinated at 6 months 🤷🏼‍♀️

Upcoming Appointments: AS on Nov 3rd

How are you feeling?: Lots of hip pain and sciatica.

Rants/Raves: NIPT test were not covered by insurance, so we owe $8,000. Nurse told me the most it was out of pocket was $500.

    Questions: Nope

GTKY: How many siblings do you have? Let's hear about your families! I am the oldest of 4 sisters. The youngest just turned 13. They all argue all the time but they love each other 😅. We live 10 minutes away, and the oldest of my sisters watches my baby so I see them M-F.
  • @araceli19 Don't panic too much. That happened to me with my last pregnancy. I called the company who did the NIPT and told them that my doctor's office told me it would only be $200 out of pocket. They agreed to only charge me $200 if I paid right then and there over the phone. I have heard a ton of similar stories too.
  • @kgg2241 ohh my really? I’m going to try that! It’s been really stressful thinking about it everyday. I’m going to call them tomorrow. Thank you so much!
  • @araceli19 Good luck! Let us know what happens!

Rants/Raves: hi guys, I know I’ve been MIA - a week in the hospital and now trying to adjust to our new normal. I’ve been a horrible pregnant person not taking care of myself and feel so bad for this kid already - I just feel like my life is going to revolve around DS’s health and I’m afraid what bringing this new one into the crazy mix will be like now. I’m just a ball of stress and sadness to be honest right now

  • @gembud I’m sorry, that’s so heavy and hard. You’re a good mama to your babies and that isn’t going to change. I’m sure, like all big diagnoses, it’s going to take time to get settled into your new normal but eventually this new baby will be part of that, too. I hope you have people to lean on during this season. Do you have a medical team for your son that you trust? I’m so sorry for the stress and sadness.
  • @gembud You are a great mama and this new babe will adjust to your new normal just fine. I am so sorry you have to go through this though and have all this extra stress on top of being pregnant. Big hugs ❤️.
  • @rachelredhead we have such a great medical team thankfully! They are working so hard for us too in fighting insurance

  • @gembud
I’m not sure you said what’s going on with your oldest or if I missed it, but regardless I’m so sorry things are rough right now and I hope adjusting will become easy. Thinking of your family. Hang in there.
  • @kgg2241 thank you for the reminder of grace, it means a lot! ❤️ The crockpot meal idea is a great one, I will have to look into that.

@gembud your family will continue to be in my thoughts! @kgg2241 reminded me how I can give myself lots of grace right now and I want to share that sentiment with you. You are doing the best you can to care for DS and yourself and it is totally ok to be a ball of stress and sadness right now. It sounds crazy right now, but it will be a routine for all of you before you know it. Sending all of you lots of hugs.

@araceli19 the same thing happened to me with NIPT with DD1. I ended up with a much lower cost than what the lab would’ve charged the insurance company. Keep us updated!

@night_nurse you are still waiting?! That’s crazy. I don’t think anyone would think anything if it if you called to follow up.
  • @faithmovesmountains I get my cervix measured on the 1st and I’m super nervous. Good luck!

@gembud you’re doing a great job. There is no right or wrong way to navigate this and we can only do what we think is best as mother.

@night_nurse I caved and got maternity scrubs a few weeks ago. I typically wear OR scrubs but those are not for pregnant bellies at all! Also have been getting Braxton Hicks for a few days now too and it’s certainly making me nervous.  Seems to happen at work mostly, almost left early last night because of it.

How are you feeling?: Good days and bad days.  Still getting the headaches but now we are adding Braxton Hicks into the mix. Just trying to really enjoy the good days.

Rants/Raves: Got the area rug for the nursery 50% off!

    Questions: NATM

GTKY: How many siblings do you have? Let's hear about your families!
I am the oldest of 5, one brother and three sisters. I’m extremely close with one sister and the other two don’t make the best decisions so I love them from a distance. My brother and I had an ok relationship until he became an antivaxer extremist and that doesn’t go over well with me being a nurse in the ICU spending the last 2 years putting people in body bags. He sends me hate texts regularly 😑.  So the holidays should be fun.

How are you feeling?: yesterday I was tired and today I’m feeling better lol!

Rants/Raves: I’ve been teaching for 10 years and transferred to a new school last year. The students are wonderful and I finally feel like I’ve found the school I’ve always wanted to work at.

    Questions: NATM

GTKY: How many siblings do you have? Let's hear about your families!
I have 3 siblings. Two sisters and a brother.  I’m the youngest of 4. My oldest sister is 18 years older than me, my brother is 17 years older than me and my sister is 4.5 years older than me. My mom kind of had us in pairs lol! Since my oldest sister is a lot older than I am, I have nephews and a niece who are closer in age to me than she is. 😂
  • @gembud thinking of you ❤️ I can guarantee you are doing a great job. You are the perfect mom for your babies.

@jenis_fan_for_life I have called. Twice. Response both time has been that the radiologist still hasn’t read it. If I could just get a preliminary read by the OB and then wait for the official results I’d be satisfied. Trying not to obsess over it too much.

@Nik102 I wear the hospital scrubs usually too. Getting to the point that if I wear them across the belly it cuts in too much since I have to tie them tight to stay up and below the belly feels like they’re falling off. Placed an amazon order this AM and hoping at least one set works. Not thrilled about having to wash these myself though 😂
  • @night_nurse OMG. This is blowing my mind! it is completely unbelievable to me. How is that even possible?? I would for sure not hesitate next time on the phone to request to speak to a manager to file a formal complaint 😬 And see if that lights a fire for the radiology backlog. I can be quite pushy though so I know not everyone is comfortable being that vocal. But I give you the full validation to do that if you feel inclined to do so!
  • @jenis_fan_for_life how about I give you the number and let you call pretending to be me 😂 I am entirely non-confrontational. My husband has wanted to take the phone a few times and talk to them and I adamantly decline lol. Calling again today as it’s been a week now.
  • @faithmovesmountains we aren't revealing names, either! We've also gotten some suggestions, but we try to be nice about it. All we tell them is that the names will begin with "J." No one has been able to guess right!
@morgantu - oh no, I would be so sick to see mouse poop!
@gembud thinking of you and sending you strength during this time!
@Nik102 I had to google what a sugar glider was!

EDD / Weeks + Days: 20 weeks today! Due 3/16/21

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Blue x 2!

Upcoming Appointments: AS on 10/29, OB 11/15

How are you feeling?: So far, so good. Not taking a daily nap, so getting some energy back! Belly is getting bigger! Hoping to feel some movement in the next few weeks.

Rants/Raves: During my last OB visit last week, we were able to see the twins try to touch/play with each other. It was so cute! Hoping the AS goes well on Friday!

    Questions: None

GTKY: How many siblings do you have? Let's hear about your families! I am 1 year older and 3 years older than my two younger brothers. We live fairly close, and get together once a month with my parents. The youngest sibling just got married, and the middle brother isn't in a relationship, so my kids are the only grandkids for my parents...so far!
  • @night_nurse the more you get to know me, you will realize you wouldn’t be the first person, nor would you be the last person, to suggest I take over a ‘self-advocating’ call like that 🤣 I would do it for you in a heartbeat!!  Here’s to hoping you get results VERY soon.
  • @gembud, I have been thinking of you and your family. My friend went through the same thing with her daughter. It is so hard at first but you will get through it. I hope you have some family and friends around who can give you a few hours to get some rest and alone time, it sounds like you need some down time.

@faithmovesmountains the only person I told my potential names to was my aunt, and she did NOT like them. She made some suggestions I wasn't crazy about. It was a really entertaining conversation.

    EDD / Weeks + Days: 19 weeks 4 days

Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: Bowl of cereal

    FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Finding out

Upcoming Appointments: Nov 5 AS. OB on Nov 17

How are you feeling?: still getting some nausea, still a bit tired, feeling good otherwise. I feel like I was under a cloud of depression for a few weeks that seems to be lifting. Just a lot of things in my life were stressing me out but I am dealing with them one at a time and its getting better.

Rants/Raves: RCS will be scheduled for either Marcy 15, 16 or 17. OB said I will have the date soon. I also cannot wait to find out girl or boy so we can start decorating the bedroom.

GTKY: How many siblings do you have? Let's hear about your families! One little sister and 2 little brothers and I love them to bits. I am so close with them (and their spouses), we have our own little tribe and spend so much time together. Its one of the reasons I wanted a lot of kids - hubby is not very close with his only sibling.
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 3/25, 18+6

Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: sweet potato

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Girl!

Upcoming Appointments: Hopefully the AS in a week or so, but I haven't managed to get it scheduled yet. MFM never calls me back it's so annoying

How are you feeling?: Great! I have that mythical 2nd-trimester energy and I'm still pinching myself to currently be having one of those mythical easy pregnancies (I hope I don't sound like a broken record on this front. My last pregnancy was brutal and I'm still just really surprised.)

Rants/Raves: I'm settling into my new job, and it's a big big difference from my old life but overall I feel like it will probably be a really positive change for me :-)

    Questions:

GTKY: How many siblings do you have? Let's hear about your families! I have one younger brother. He has medium-functioning autism, and he can be very hard to get along with. It's a relationship I struggle with a lot, to be honest. My husband has one younger sister, and we're both very close to her, but she's adamant that she doesn't ever want to have kids, so our children probably won't ever have any first cousins. That's one of the reasons I used to always want 3 kids, but I'm not sure if we can actually handle that, we may stop at 2.
  • @gembud I've been thinking of you. I hope you find your new normal soon. I'm sending all my positive thoughts your way.
