Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: Baby is the size of a postcard.

    FTM/STM/TTM+: Complicated

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Pink!

Upcoming Appointments: Wednesday for regular OB appointment, 10/19 at MFM for Growth scan/ cervical length scan

How are you feeling?: Physically, still really struggling with insomnia, so tired. Emotionally, still lots of nerves/ anxiety. I feel like a mess haha.

Rants/Raves: My 16 month old DS stubbornly refused to clap until recently and yesterday morning he clapped when he saw me and it just melted my heart! <3

    Questions: None right now.

GTKY: What are you most looking forward to once baby is here?
Everything. As cliche as that sounds. The feel of that first skin to skin, the sound of her first little cry, getting to nurse her, cuddle her, bring her home and introduce her to her big brother…
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: Mar 14/ 18w

Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: artichoke

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Pink

Upcoming Appointments: Oct 25 for AS and appt with MFM, I’ll be able to schedule my CS then which blows my mind. The hospital I’ll deliver at likes to book early.

How are you feeling?: Pretty good, anxious for more routine baby movement

Rants/Raves: we’re driving back from a weekend trip and DS is OVER being in the car seat. Kind of a rant but also a rave because he’s pretty cute when he’s annoyed, he doesn’t have the words yet so it’s just this angry jabbering. 😂

    Questions: natm

GTKY: What are you most looking forward to once baby is here? Seeing DS as a big brother, snuggles, baby wearing (DS hated it but maybe baby girl will be game), completing our little family.

  • @jenis_fan_for_life Yuck! Sorry about your stomach bug. The worst, especially with everything you've already been dealing with.

@faithmovesmountains awww baby claps are so sweet! Those chubby hands <3

    EDD / Weeks + Days: 3/20 17+1

Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: folded up sunglasses, apparently lol

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: green!

Upcoming Appointments: nada till nov 1 AS and OB check

How are you feeling?: physically pretty good. Been working out again, which is nice. Sleep is difficult and my back/hips are sore, which seems earlier than last time. But if that's the worst, it's ok. Anxiety comes and goes. I just want my dang placenta to move outta the way and let me feel some consistent movement.

Rants/Raves: we had a pumpkin carving party with some friends yesterday and it was so fun! DD loved it. Got me a little more in the halloween spirit.

Questions: TTM+ moms, with subsequent pregnancies, i know it's common to get big faster, but did you find that your belly size evened out in the end, or you got big faster and ended up bigger?

GTKY: What are you most looking forward to once baby is here? Baby sleeping on me!!! My DD doesn't fall asleep anywhere other than her bed/the car (i know, it's mostly great) but i do love those shoulder sleeps. Also hoping to soak things in a little less neurotically now that I have a little more of an idea what I'm doing.
  • @morgantu Pumpkin carving is fun! I'm sorry sleep hasn't been good lately. The back and hip pain is the worst!

@rachelredhead Glad you made it home safely from your trip!

@faithmovesmountains Aweeee clapping! So cute. I'm also really looking forward to skin to skin and nursing again  <3

@jenis_fan_for_life Oh no! I'm so sorry you are sick. It seems like a stomach bug is going around. I hope you feel better soon.

Upcoming Appointments: AS was today, so no other appointments until November
How are you feeling?: Good! So happy today. I couldn't sleep last night because I was so anxious and nervous for my anatomy scan today. I am feeling so relieved and happy that everything looked good. I feel like I'll be able to connect to the pregnancy and baby more now. She was also so cute in there. I have an anterior placenta again, which really surprised me since I feel baby a lot more than I did with DD.
Rants/Raves: See above for my rave. My rant is announcing. Not really a rant but I feel like we should do some sort of announcement on social media, but I also feel extremely awkward about it. We post DD fairly often though, so it seems weird to not acknowledge that we have another one on the way. I'm getting in my own head majorly but ugh. I hate social media.
    Questions: Nope
GTKY: What are you most looking forward to once baby is here? Same as above! I can't wait to see DD with her baby sis. I am also in @morgantu's boat. DD won't sleep anywhere but her crib, so I'm really looking forward to holding this baby while she sleeps more.
  • @jenis_fan_for_life hope you feel better soon

    @faithmovesmountains yay for clapping!

@rachelredhead ah that’s exciting, any date you’re partial to if possible?

@morgantu also interested in your question! Sleep def became harder wayyyy earlier, whip out the pillow you won’t regret it it’s been helping me so much

Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: 2 more weeks until our anatomy scan 😊

    Upcoming Appointments: Oct 26th-Anatomy Scan

How are you feeling?: Today, I had my 2nd tri appt #2.  Everything went smoothly, had the AFP blood draw and now anxious to hear results. (Wasn't offered testing aside from amnio with DD1 with a family Dr, now with OB)

    Rants/Raves: None currently

Questions: Should I be worried about AFP results?

GTKY: What are you most looking forward to once baby is here? Getting to meet this sweet little baby that I've carried all this time.  Skin to skin and nursing! With DD1, I nursed 15 months and we were both ready to be done, but I do miss that bond.

  • @gembud 😘❤

@morgantu I got way bugger way faster with #2 and even though I gained 3xactly the same amount of weight with both pregnancies (26 lbs exactly) my belly was WAYYYYYY bigger by the end than it was with DD1...and I delivered her 3arlier and she was a full pound and 2 inches smaller...this time I am already bigger than I was at delivery with DD1 so I am definitely prepared for a ridiculous ending to this pregnancy 🤦‍♀️

@rachelredhead DD1 was NOT a snuggled at all. She hated cuddles and hugs as a baby and toddler, but LOVED being worn. DD2 is the complete opposite. She is such a snuggle bug but was not a fan of being in the carrier. So funny to me because they are complete opposites in literally every way.

@kgg2241 The only thing I post on social media is pics of the girls (and only for a small family circle) and we won't be announcing (we never have)...but my BFF and all my cousins have oodles of boys so I do want to put out some feelers to see if anyone still has clothes they might want to get rid of...but I might just let my mom and her lwck of filter spread the word for me...

    EDD / Weeks + Days: March 21 / 17+1 I think...

Upcoming Appointments: 18th OB, 25th GP, 2nd AS

How are you feeling?: Still stupidly sick. It is just ridiculous. And super uncomfortable since I'm gaining too much weight from my inability to get any exercise at all. Emotionally stressed...but what else is new..

Rants/Raves: I thought I was going to be able to start working out again, but nope. Every day I tried to work out I ended up with my head in a toilet for hours afterwards, and now I'm back to being too sick to even scroll through my phone let alone workout. I have 5 months left and need to start dropping some of this ridiculous weight. I just need to be able to move and eat something that doesn't have 50000 calories in each bite...or recovery is going to be ROUGH after delivery....(I can't stomach veggies or fruit or water without throwing up literally everything in my stomach...which is what I normally live on so I'm pretty sure my stomach and digestive system are on strike at this point anyways...)

Questions: Not unless someone knows a great workout I can do without having to stand up or elevate my body temperature even a little bit...oh, ideas for super filling small snacks that might stay down and not drive me to eat continuously on a futile quest to get rid of the nausea????

GTKY: What are you most looking forward to once baby is here? I mean, I am having trouble thinking beyond getting rid of the nausea and getting some semblance of my body back at this point...but I second what everyone has said above. Cuddly baby snuggles, seeing him with the girls, just getting to know him and watching him grow...but #1 as terrible as it sounds is for the nausea and vomiting to stop so I can actually enjoy all those other things...
  • @jenis_fan_for_life
Aww that sucks so much. Hope it passes soon.
    @Panaceia
I’m sorry you’re still so sick. What I experience isn’t even close, but I am too nauseous to eat much of anything when I first get up. What helps me get something down is I drink a Boost (chocolate) instead of breakfast, it tastes sort of like chocolate milk and helps me get through my morning. It is 250 calories, though, so it’s definitely more of a meal replacement than it is a low calorie snack. I hope you find something that works.
  • @faithmovesmountains I am going to send SO to the store after work to get this for me! Honestly I will try anything, and liquid instead of solids is definitely what I need right now to help with the dehydration!!!! Thank you for the suggestion ❤❤❤
  • @Panaceia hugs hugs hugs. I wish I had advice for you and could help somehow ❤️.
  • @Panaceia im so sorry this is still your reality 💔 thinking of you.
@kgg2241 also on the fence about some kind of social media announcement re:pregnancy. May wait until the holidays.
@gembud hope things are better today ❤️

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Pink!

Upcoming Appointments: AS this coming Monday and OB appt next Wednesday.

How are you feeling?: Fluffy and uncomfortable in most clothes but happy and content. And want to eat nothing but meat at every meal. Not sure if it’s the protein or iron but I had a moment with some steak last night at dinner and have been thinking about it ever since 😂

Rants/Raves: rant is that I wont get any AS results until my appt 2 days later. I HATE waiting.

Questions: Anyone else already stressing about making sure you have everything baby related you need? I am admittedly extremely type A, but also feel some weird pressure to have everything ready super early, but then worried I’m going to jinx something. Also- Target is having a buy one get one 40% off sale on tons of items including nursery furniture.

GTKY: What are you most looking forward to once baby is here? Being nap trapped all day long. Im sure it will get old at some point but I’ve always said our postpartum bodies are extra smooshy so babies have a soft place to lay.
  • @Panaceia I am so sorry you are so sick! Have you gotten IV fluids recently? I’d ask your doctor and consider that as a first step to get out of the cycle of nausea/vomiting/dehydration/increased nausea/vomiting. After you’ve got a handle on dehydration, I find that snacks with protein help because they make me feel full longer. My go-to lately has been apple with some peanut butter. I also found a neat resource for HG info on Instagram - hgmoms. They have some excellent pamphlets/info graphics around advocating with your medical team around HG. Solidarity, though. I am currently getting some IV fluids after struggling all weekend. Crossing fingers you will find a groove and some relief soon.
  • @jenis_fan_for_life Thank you ❤ This is my 3rd time with HG, but in both previous pregnancies at least one type of fruit and at least one form of liquid would stay down, so even though I was losing weight or not gaining, at least hydration wasn't a problem:/ This time nothing good stays down. Veggies and fruit are the worst, I can't handle anything with sugar in it (including peanut butter.. which makes me sad because that and eggs got me through in the past), and the only thing that really stays down is bread...which sucks because I'm celiac so bread is not cheap and honestly tastes pretty disgusting right now, but that and cheddar cheese are pretty much all I've been able to eat successfully for months (which is also why I'm gaining way too much weight despite all the vomiting...which is new to me since I normally don't gain until later 3rd tri). Luckily I wasn't dehydrated at my appointment last Thursday (I've gotten pretty good at avoiding the hospital despite all the throwing up) but I'll definitely get rechecked again on Monday. I'm having a hard time with dairy too (other than cheddar cheese) so I'm going to try soy milk next and hope it works since all juices and all forms of water and tea hate me at the moment:/
  • @Panaceia Ugh, this is just so darn hard sometimes! Sounds like you for sure have a few extra aversions this time around. I’m glad you aren’t dehydrated- you must be a hydration pro to not have that issue despite all the vomiting!! Have you tried anything frozen? Like pedialyte popsicles? Or any kind of frozen anything that seems reasonable? Popsicles count as a liquid in my book right now 😂 I hear you with the GF bread - I have Celiac too and am soooo over it. It has to be juuuuust perfectly toasted otherwise I don’t really like it. I am all about the GF pretzels right now too though! Salty for some electrolyte boost and crunchy to go down and stay down easily. And small enough to eat one every few minutes without too much guilt. Sending you all the virtual hugs ❤️
  • I dropped off for a couple weeks because I was feeling mopey... but I'm back, hopefully to stick around.

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Finding Out

Upcoming Appointments: 2 Nov for 20 week anatomy scan

How are you feeling? + Rant: So... similar to my previous pregnancy, my dr advised me to get the non-NIPT test because I was low risk. Turns out, because of my low PAPP-A marker, the risk for Tri 13 was adjusted to become not less than 1 in a 1000. So she called us up to say the NT scan and anatomy looked all good but we should just do an NIPT to clear the Tri 13 risk. I'm not as worried about Tri 13 as what low PAPP-A means. So because of that I've been really down and really trying to push the worst scenarios to the back of my mind...

Questions: Any other mom with low PAPP-A in previous pregnancies got through to the end without any scares? I really want some reassurance.

GTKY: What are you most looking forward to once baby is here? A loud healthy cry. Everything else can go from there...
  • @Panaceia So sorry you are still having trouble keeping anything down! I've been staying hydrated with gatorade zero!
@kgg2241 We haven't announced on social media, either. However, maybe people will find out when we post Halloween pictures since my bump is more noticeable! I was thinking of doing an announcement with our holiday cards this year.

Upcoming Appointments: OB 10/20, AS 10/29

How are you feeling?: So far, so good. I take naps when I feel tired. I don't like not being able to feel movement due to anterior placenta, but at least hearing the HBs on the doppler helps!

Rants/Raves: DS is really excited about Halloween! Will be working on his ghost costume later this week, and we made some witch potions last night!

Questions: I've been waking up to leg cramps. Anyone else? Sometimes in one leg, sometimes both. It's happened the last few nights lately. Thankfully, it doesn't last long, and I fall right back asleep.

GTKY: What are you most looking forward to once baby is here? The newborn smell, as well as seeing DS with his baby brothers. I also love when babies stretch their arms and legs out!
  • @jennifer_m21 I was drinking Gatorade zero as well for a week or two before I developed an aversion:/ Blah.

I had SO buy soy milk last night and so far it is staying down...so hopefully I have at least a week before I develop aversions to it...but so far so good 🤞🤞🤞
  • @Panaceia fingers and toes crossed that you find your miracle drink!!
  • @Panaceia i hope the soy milk does the trick for you! In the height of first tri sickness ice cold unsweetened coconut milk was about the only thing I could tolerate.
  • @night_nurse Ooooh I hadn't thought about the temperature! I am going to stick some ice in it later and see how it goes!!!
  • Thinking of you today at your AS @gembud! Can't wait to see a cute pic of your little guy!
  • @kgg2241 came here to say the same thing @gembud !!

How are you feeling?: Alright recently. Struggling with work travel, but good besides that.

Rants/Raves: Things have been super busy and I could really use a break. Was in CA all week for work, just got back today and have DHs birthday party tomorrow. All good things, but I could use some rest.

    Questions: NATM

GTKY: What are you most looking forward to once baby is here?  Just learning what things will be like.  I want to meet this little boy and learn all about him as he grows.
  • @bananasb I had low PAPP-A with my second kid in 2018 and have it again with this kid. My last kid was 9lbs13oz so definitely was not impacted by the restricted growth! Other than the extra scans, daily aspirin, and not getting to go passed 40w, there was no impact to my pregnancy. I'm taking the daily aspirin for this pregnancy as well and focusing on antioxidant rich food as that can help blood flow. I know it's so so scary to hear initially, but even re-researching the issue with this kid, it sounds like ever since they've implemented the extra scans and aspirin, there have been few, if any, late term losses so that's reassuring to me!
  • Would appreciate all your positive energy and thoughts, currently in the hospital with 2y DS we just found out he has type 1 diabetes and we will be here all week. My poor little babe is suffering and my heart is breaking

  • @gembud I agree with others - sending positive thoughts to you as y'all embark on this new journey. And I hope his pain is controlled now! Poor guy.
  • @gembud I just saw this, how scary. I'm so sorry you're going through this. I hope he is starting to feel better. Do you know any moms with small children who have diabetes? My friend's daughter was diagnosed with type 1 when she was 3, and I would be happy to try to connect you if you'd like someone to talk to who's been through this.
  • @jenis_fan_for_life Sorry you have a stomach bug. Not fun! Hope you are feeling better now.
