My parents came to visit this weekend and we had a blast! We went for a cool water fall hike, celebrated DS4’s birthday, and ran a 10K. I was exhausted by Sunday evening!
@monstera13 sounds fun! @FishyMom I have only tent camped with my kiddos in the backyard! Hope she loves it.
Home sick with sinus issues. Are there any good first tri sinus meds or am I basically stuck? Google says the Sudafed I have can't be taken until second tri.
I love this thread because I read about other pregnant people doing normal fun things like camping, hiking and running. I’m hoping to be able to do those things soon too once the evening sickness leaves the building!
I've definitely started feeling bb kick a lot, and I think the ultrasound tech was probably wrong about my placenta position based on where I'm feeling the kicks. It also could have moved, but they're not super reliable at placenta location at 12 weeks so I was really just asking to be nosey anyway. She said it was fundal, and I don't think it can be since I feel the kicks all over the front of my stomach and also at the top of where my uterus is (and I can literally feel the edge of my uterus so I know exactly where the top of it is lol). Sigh. Was really banking on that fundal placenta to protect my ribs.
Pain from si joint and SPD stuff got really bad last night. Couldn't move even an inch in bed. DH had to literally alternate pulling me by my feet and pushing behind my back to get me out of bed so I could pee. Thankfully it's better this morning, but I made appointments with an osteopath and a PT. I just don't even know what I can do because the pelvic stability exercises I got from the last PT (which admittedly I didn't love her) are excruciating for me to do now even with my SI belt on. It feels like raging burning on either side of my pubic bone plus a sharp stabbing pain in my pubic bone plus a sharp stabbing pain at my SI joint on the right and then sciatic pain up and down. Ahhh lol I'm going to go insane if it's like this for 24+ more weeks. Last time it didn't even happen until 28 weeks. But I can seriously barely walk.
@Blondesweety444 omg that happened to me the other day laughing - horrible. DH thought I was going insane because it was like laughter followed by pain sounds with no explanation until it faded.
@Blondesweety444 yessss! sneezing gets me! A few weeks ago my allergies were flaring up (and I was trying not to take any meds) - it helps to feel less like you’re dying if you can curl up/bend over like into the fetal position first. #moveslikejagger
@monstera13 Yes! DH and I binge watched it in one day. Then we heard about a similar Japanese series called Alice in Borderland so we watched that next. I recommend it for when you're done with Squid Games.
Super random, but I picked the yarn for this baby's blanket if boy or if girl. All of our kids have one. Nursery is sage and brown so DD7 was pink, sage, and brown, DD6 was purple, DS4 was green, and DS2 was orange. I'm running out of variegated
yarns that go with the sage and brown colors but I finally found two. So if girl, it will be turquoise and if boy it will be more of a periwinkl-y medium blue.
I also picked bedding for when they are big enough to go in the room with the big kids because I'm insane like that. I just can't find the sheets I want for if it's a girl.
@Boobopgirl So do you wait until after delivery to start the blanket? Or are you waiting for your anatomy scan to find out if baby is a girl or a boy? I am so slow with my blankets that I’m thinking of starting soon. Do you use the same pattern for all your LOs?
@aloha_mama I do just a basic Chevron pattern. Sage, variegated, brown, their color, repeat 5x done. I make a hat and booties to match, but the blankets they all still use in the car. I literally buy the yarn on the way home from our anatomy scan every time. That and I always crochet an outfit for their baby dedication. I start both right away and work on them whenever I have pregnancy anxiety and/or impatience and they usually get done pretty quick. 😂
@Blondesweety444 I'm also planning super ahead for like...being able to find certain other things in their color. We color code EVERYTHING toothbrushes, shower loofahs, etc. A lot of things if they come in a pack have either pink or red but not usually both and we always have extra blue everything.
The bedding I need to match what the other girls have is turquoise with unicorns, because the other two already have the pink and purple of a similar style. I'll probably buy it either way and use it on the girl's trundle. But I want them all to have rainbow sheets and I can't find ones I like...I'm truly insane...help.
1. Burned myself only mildly with hot coffee on way to work. Went to work sick vomited 15 min inbetween patients. Finally stopped vomiting still nauseous. Checked phone on way back into next appointment. My husband's 91 yo grandmother Lois who we thought was in hospital after our vacation together for atrial fibrillation which is just a heart rythem issue that sometimes happens to older people but is livable with meds, actually has an ejection fracture of 15-20%. This means her heart isn't working. We suspect she had a heart attack. She might be able to get a catheter in to clear and look for blockage which would help but her kidney function is impaired enough she might not be able to tolerate the procedure. So we wait. I barely got french fries in time to get back from lunch as it was all I could tolerate and Panera was too far away. Got through work with out throwing up again, go me. Drove to Panera to get bagel and cream cheese I was craving. They are out. On the way my husband calls and says my car is leaking. I look under car sure enough at a good clip. All repair places are closed. Soonest we can get someone to look at it is tomorrow no guarantees. Drive home with no food as they didn't have begals and now I'm worried about driving this car. Got home. Two dogs with no tags run into our house. Giant poodles. We entertain them 20 min while my husband is trying to figure out what is leaking from my car and DD5 is petting dogs and I'm combing through next door app till a car pulls out looking for two dogs. They just left I ordered delivery sushi that is cooked as I thought it palatable and we are still waiting on news about Lois who we apparently tried to kill with this vacation.
@rbflei Holy moly. I thought my Thursday was bad when DH turned up home from work with a broken foot and I had to rush him to emergency, but you win. Hope your Friday is better!
For those of you following my emotional dissertation drama - just got off the phone with my advisor and he assured me I am not failing out of the program 😂
Also made a note to self to wait on sending off frantic emails to said advisor until AFTER I’ve stopped hysterically crying. Hormones, y’all…
Thanks everyone for the support! Friday was much better! Lois is stable and hopefully will make it out of the hospital in a few days and then manage symptoms at home. The car was leaking axel fluid and has since been repaired. I didn't vomit today! And we are having ice cream sundaes. I just couldn't believe the hits kept coming. Glad I made it past Thursday for sure!
I'm not sure how long it will last but my kids are listening to music on their Alexa in one of their rooms reading books quietly and it's so cute. Hmmm...might be over now. They're 6 and 3 10 minutes is pretty good lol.
