  • @Panaceia oh good! What a relief!
  • @Panaceia
That’s great! Sorry you had such a bad experience at the hospital though.
  • @Panaceia yay! Glad you don’t have to delay AND you don’t have to go back to the hospital. What a horrible tech!

I just totally weirded out my husband with my snack: veggie straws, hummus, cherry preserves. It’s the cherry preserves that threw it over the edge. He gave me a side eye and just said “wow, that is a super pregnant snack.” 😂
  • @Panaceia yay what a relief for no big delay! I'm sorry you had such a terrible experience. That is completely unacceptable!

@rachelredhead not gonna lie, the veggie straws and hummus sounds AMAZING right now!
And I would totally be down for a bowl of cherry preserves (though I'm imagining cherry pie filling 😅). Though probably wouldn't be mixing them together at this moment haha
  • My grandmother fell and broke her leg on Thanksgiving.
It's been a.. frustrating disaster since then.

I volunteered to cook for a neighbourhood meal train a few weeks ago. My day is today. I feel bad because dealing with grandma's troubles, has taken up all my "free" time. So I wasn't able to make the roasted veggies and apple crisp to go with the casserole like I'd planned.
I ended up picking up a bagged salad, and cupcakes to go with the cheeseburger casserole I made. 🙈 I feel guilty for not doing everything from scratch.
  • @rachelredhead That entire snack actually sounds delicious to me...even not pregnant....😅

@goldfishcraker I'm sorry about your grandma ❤ But how oh how do you feel guilty? If it was me I likely would have just sent SO to buy a bunch of pre-made stuff from the store and drop it off. I'm impressed you made them dinner from scratch! And it sounds delicious!!!!
  • @rachelredhead That is super cool!!!! I'm probably going to explain this to everyone I talk to now for the foreseeable future!
  • @night_nurse how did it go? Did you get any results already?
  • @goldfishcraker and @rachelredhead thank you ❤️

No official results yet. The tech was very kind though and let me watch the entire scan as well as everything she was labeling. I have a low lying placenta which I figured based on the episode of heavy bleeding I had at 12 weeks- not official previa but they’ll check it again at 28 weeks to make sure it’s moved. I also have a fibroid I had no idea about, seems small though. I saw baby’s 4 chamber heart, 3 vessel cord, all her fingers and toes, and her growth is right at 50th percentile which is all great. She did take lots and lots of pictures of baby’s nose and mouth which I’m probably reading too much into, but we’ll see. We won’t get the results until later this week or early next.
  • @night_nurse I'm hoping you've received some reassuring news by now? I'm sure the wait is taking a toll on you.  Thinking of you 🙂

    19 wks 1 day.
I go Tuesday morning for AS. That seems an eternity away. I'm SO anxious, I haven't seen baby since almost 12 weeks when I had a large SCH bleed.  I have felt twinges off and on that could be baby, but nothing for sure that I knew was baby. By this point with DD1, there was definitive movements.  Doubts in my mind are causing terrible preg dreams. I have heard heart beat at 2 prenatal appts in between, that have been somewhat reassuring. I'm beyond ready to see babe.  Hopefully we will get to learn gender as well.
  • @friends-fan no news yet which I’m telling myself is a good sign. Hope time passes quickly for you and the scan is entirely uneventful 🤞🏼
  • @night_nurse if it helps, anytime there has ever been anything serious or troubling with an ultrasound I got a call that same evening. So I say no news is good news:)
  • we are going to my in-laws for the weekend. Should be generally fine, but i'm worried about sleep. we typically sleep together in a full bed. MH and i are both over 6ft or more and generally big. It's squeeze even when i'm sleeping well. I may make him take the couch.
  • @morgantu oh yeah, I'd make him take the couch. Especially since it is just for the weekend.
  • @night_nurse my dr always tells me no news is good news.  Id say if it were too troubling, they would notify you quickly,  but I can imagine anxieties are through the roof!

@morgantu couch for hubby sounds like a good plan!  I'd do the same

@faithmovesmountains hope all goes well for you!

Anyone else see that the Owlet has been discontinued 😭. That thing saved my sanity with DD. It sounds like they will still offer the app to use the sock if you already have one, but there is no guarantee for how long.

Edit to add that I'm not trying to promote something that is unsafe (though I'm not sure if that is why it is being pulled). I just really loved ours.

  • @kgg2241 nooooooo! We did not use one. Or anyone of the similar products with DD. My with this little one already being diagnosed with DS and having low muscle tone, and the potential heart defect, we were definitely considering this. Ugh.
  • @kgg2241 No! I was planning on buying the 3rd gen with FSA money after the first of the year. Sounds like it has nothing to do with safety but instead government regulation of a monitoring item they consider a medical device. This actually really stresses me out.
  • @luckyduck42 @night_nurse Hopefully they have everything resolved or whatever new device they are working on comes out before March. I already have one so I don't know why I'm stressed but my anxiety popped up when I saw the news.
  • @kgg2241
That’s a shame, we wanted one with DS, but didn’t have enough money so we settled for something slightly cheaper.

Fingers crossed, but nearly 18 hours out from my second shot and only side effect I notice is a sore arm, so that’s helping my anxiety ease a bit.
  • @kgg2241 we do have the 2nd gen, loaned it to a family member and hoping to get it back. But hate the uncertainty of whether the monitoring app will be available for long.

@luckyduck42 My guess would be that baby would absolutely qualify for a medical pulse oximeter/HR monitor. Hopefully your pediatrician would be able to get that ordered for you before you go home with baby.
  • I started my new job last week! It’s going to be a lot of work, but I’m so excited that it’s fully wfh, and I really love my colleagues and the work I’m doing. So, overall, really exciting stuff!
  • @jessier19 that's awesome! How exciting. Full WFH is so nice too. I do like going into the office, but working from home makes being a working mom a lot more manageable for me.
  • @kgg2241 nooo! I loved ours! I hope the app keeps running....
