Week's Challenges:

GTKY: Are you dressing up for Halloween? If not, what was your favorite childhood costume? (Feel free to answer both!)

Re: Fit Mom Friday 10/15

  • Health/Fitness Goal (and why, if you want to share): Stay active, at least three workouts a week, to prep for smooth L&D and recovery

Week's Successes: I did exactly one workout! Yay me.

Week's Challenges: This isn’t workout related but… So we found out last week that our beloved cat has hepatic lipidosis. It’s been rough. We opted for outpatient treatment so I have been pilling this guy a few times a day and giving IV fluids every night. He is so sweet and patient but it kills me. We can’t afford the quoted $3000-$5000 for treatment if this doesn’t work so we have all been pretty upset and downhearted. On top of the fatigue I already feel from working full-time, homeschooling, and being pregnant, the emotions running rampant in this house have just sucked any and all motivation to do anything.

GTKY: Are you dressing up for Halloween? If not, what was your favorite childhood costume? (Feel free to answer both!) I’m not dressing up, but DD6 is going as Kiki from the Studio Ghibli movie about a witch with a delivery service. I’m pretty excited! I was hoping to get DH on board to do a family dress-up as Archie Andrews with me as Veronica and DD6 as Betty (comic book, not CW show), but he’s not into costumes. I think my favorite costume growing up was either the pink Power Ranger or the Swan Princess (definitely dating myself here!). My mom made all our costumes and we still have some of them!

  • Health/Fitness Goal (and why, if you want to share): Eat healthy and maintain a regular weekly yoga practice to prepare my body for a safe and natural birth!

Week's Successes: The yoga was a little easier this week with the fatigue subsiding, I’ve been able to do longer classes, and walk a little bit too!

Week's Challenges: Literally just this afternoon I had a weak moment— I had a bag of rice chips and some pita chips. 🙈 The horror! Lol 🤦🏻‍♀️ I usually try so hard to stay away from processed foods like that but I NEEDED carbs and that was all we had that would satisfy it!

GTKY: Are you dressing up for Halloween? If not, what was your favorite childhood costume? (Feel free to answer both!) We sure are! I talked about it more in last week’s post, but our Mike and Sulley shirts came in, and I’m so excited now!! 😁 My favorite costume growing up… hmmm I loved the homemade flower costume my mom made when I was 4 years old, from big pink pieces of foam to form the flower around my face! I also loved the ancient Grecian princess costume I wore one year when I was little! But probably my favorite was the first year my husband and I dated, we were little red riding hood and the big bad wolf, and my grandma dressed as the grandmother with a big fake nose! 😆 We had so much fun posing for pictures and it’s a memory that’s so special to me now!

  • @aloha_mama I LOVE Kiki’s delivery service!!! It was one of my all time favorite movies when I was little! She’ll have to carry around a stuffed Jiji with her!! 🐈‍⬛😊

@Boobopgirl You’ll have to post pics of your little Disney crew! I bet they’ll look so cute! ☺️
  • Health/Fitness Goal (and why, if you want to share): you know the things

Week's Successes: I felt good about this week! I had to do a crazy whirlwind of travel Monday and Tuesday so it was periods of swift walking paired with lots and lots of sitting. Wednesday & Thursday I made sure to do my stretches and workout because I was STIFF. Plus our nature walk. Today my legs were wobbly mush.

Week's Challenges: I’m just really glad I survived the travel.

GTKY: Are you dressing up for Halloween? If not, what was your favorite childhood costume? (Feel free to answer both!)

my favorite that pops to mind was princess jasmine - except the cardboard shoe covers my dad made. It was sweet of him, but they were hideous 😆

I don’t think I will this year, but I’ve got 7 yards of brown fabric still waiting to be turned into Jedi robes for the boys… gotta get on that!
  • Belated but here goes:

Health/Fitness Goal (and why, if you want to share): Eat healthy and exercise 3x week-ish

Week's Successes: I had a great workout on Wednesday! Just need to do that more often 😅

Week's Challenges: 1. I opened the big bag of Halloween candy 🤦‍♀️ 2. I had to travel for work this week, which meant I basically sat for 2 days straight and ate only unheathly restraunt food and airplane snacks.

GTKY: Are you dressing up for Halloween? If not, what was your favorite childhood costume? (Feel free to answer both!) Not dressing up, but my fave ever costume was one I made with an actual sewing machine (I've only sewn like 4 things in my life). I was little red riding hood and DH was the wolf. His costume came out SO good I'm still proud of it 5 years later 🐺
