Re: PGAL Check In 10/7

  • Weeks/EDD? 18 weeks +1 day/ due March 9

Previous loss(es) (share as much or as little as you like)? PPROM that resulted in stillbirth, it was a traumatic and drawn out event.

How are you feeling? Emotionally & physically? Physically? Tired, insomnia. Emotionally? I consider the next month and a half, particularly the next month the ‘bottleneck’. That small part that’s tough to get through. My PPROM with my loss happened at 19 weeks and she was stillborn at 22 weeks and 5 days, so I get the most sensitive during this time. Anxiety is high, I cry often, I have flashbacks at night when I try to sleep…
I keep getting reassurance every MFM appointment that this baby is healthy and well and my cervix is long and closed, which helps, but I’m still a ball of nerves waiting for viability.

Any appointment updates? Cervical scan today looked good, baby looked good. Doc said after my appointment on 10/19 they should only need to check my cervical length one more time, so we’ll see.

Any big milestones? Standing at the cusp of the bottleneck, just need to get through it to relax a bit.

Rants/Raves/Questions? I really hope baby girl’s movements get more consistent soon. By now, my son was jamming in there every day, but this little one will just do little bits here and there so far. I just want the extra reassurance! lol

  • @faithmovesmountains Thinking of you these next few weeks and sending extra strength your way. I know how hard those loss milestones are. I hope you get some nice big kicks and jabs frequently ❤❤❤

    Weeks/EDD? 16+3 / March 21

Previous loss(es) (share as much or as little as you like)? 2 MMCs (14 weeks and 10 weeks), CP, MC (7 weeks)

How are you feeling? Emotionally & physically? Physically sooooo sick. It has changed from the type of sick where I feel like I need to eat all the time to the kind of sick where I only eat out of necessity. I am throwing up more than before too:/ Emotionally still really really stressed. Still not believing this is really happening. I'm pregnant in all my dreams now so I at least feel that's progress in terms of some sort of connection maybe starting to happen. Really focusing on the anatomy scan and hoping to feel obvious movement soon.

Any appointment updates? Had one this morning. Strong heartbeat so I can relax for today at least.

Any big milestones? Just waiting for the AS.

Rants/Raves/Questions? I got my rocking chair. It was soooooo nice to be able to just rock DD2 instead of carry her around all night. My back is in love.
  • @faithmovesmountains thinking of you. I can't imagine how traumatizing it is to have to go through these next few weeks. I hope you have some time to remember your sweet babe and take care of yourself.

@Panaceia How are you getting sicker???? omg you poor thing. Glad you had a good check today- hope it holds you over for a little, at least.

    Weeks/EDD? 16+4 3/20

Previous loss(es) (share as much or as little as you like)? 3 early losses. I before DD, 2 before this pregnancy

How are you feeling? Emotionally & physically? Physically i'm doing a lot better. Sleeping is annoying, but i'm getting the hang of things. finally got back to working out this week which is nice. Emotionally i'm ok. Cautiously optimistic. I'm well past all of my previous losses, but i well know that doesn't really mean anything. I had a good Ob appt on monday so i feel ok for the moment.

Any appointment updates?  Nothing till AS and Ob appt on 11/4

Any big milestones? nah. I will tell my staff about the pregnancy next week. i'll be glad to stop feeling like i have to hide and definitely glad to wear maternity pants, but it feels ominous.

Rants/Raves/Questions? nah, i'm good for now.
  • @faithmovesmountains thinking of you and hoping these next few weeks go by quickly, and calmly.

    Weeks/EDD? March 18

Previous loss(es) (share as much or as little as you like)? 2 losses

How are you feeling? Emotionally & physically? I'm exhausted. Some moments, I feel like everything around me is on fire and I don't know what to do. Other moments, I feel like things will be ok. We got amnio results back on Monday which confirmed this little girl has Down Syndrome. And our docs are closely monitoring her heart now. There are just so many possible challenges and so many unknowns, that it is overwhelming. But we are trying to process the info and prepare as best we can.

Any appointment updates? Mfm on 10/25 to take another look at her heart.

Any big milestones? We told DD she is going to be a big sister. Seeing her excitement helps me think things will be ok.

Rants/Raves/Questions? I ordered a maternity pillow.  It came in yesterday. And I slept better last night than I have in a long time.
  • @luckyduck42 I'm glad you finally have some definitive answers and it sounds like your doctors are being proactive about everything. It's awesome your DD is already so excited. You are going to love watching that sister bond grow between the two of them. Seeing how much my girls adore eachotger despite the almost 6 year age difference is literally the best thing in the world ❤❤❤
  • @Panaceia
Thank you and I’m sorry you’re feeling so rough. Congrats on the rocker, though!

    @morgantu
All thoughts are appreciated. Best wishes telling everyone!

    @luckyduck42
    And thank you, too.
Here’s hoping all goes well and your new little one thrives in spite of the challenges. Glad your daughter is excited for her sibling!
  • Sorry I don’t post often in this check-in. Sometimes it feels overwhelming and scary, knowing how common these heartaches are.

    Weeks/EDD? 17w3/Mar 14

Previous loss(es) (share as much or as little as you like)? 2 losses prior to my son

How are you feeling? Emotionally & physically? Physically I feel ok so that sometimes makes me emotionally crazy. I feel movement sometimes but not routinely so I obsess about that.

Any appointment updates? AS on 10/25, I’m counting the hours

Any big milestones? Not recently, just trying to enjoy feeling better without letting that spiral. But I know I’m just going to be anxious until viability. And then I’ll find new things to be anxious about. We have an in utero nickname (Myrtle) for baby and it’s helped me feel more connected but also more scared.

Rants/Raves/Questions? We’re going on a mini family trip this weekend and it’ll be nice to get away to a cabin, order food from random places, go for hikes. My son is 15 months and it is such a fun age!

@luckyduck42 hugs as you think and process. What fun to see your daughter so excited. There will be no lack of love for baby girl!

@panaceia I’m so sorry you’re still feeling awful!

@faithmovesmountains Deep breaths. This season will pass. It helps me to plan something for when viability is and focus on that. So, for instance, if it’s around a family birthday or a holiday, go big on planning for that to remove a bit of the focus mentally. This must be such a triggering, difficult period and I just want to send creepy internet stranger hugs.

@morgantu telling people feels ominous to me, too. It should be this happy thing but I always feel like I’m tempting fate, which is silly. Ugh.
  • Weeks/EDD? March 10th, 18+1

Previous loss(es) (share as much or as little as you like)? MC in April

How are you feeling? Emotionally & physically? Physically feeling well, tons of Braxton Hicks- especially at work. They get pretty intense at times. Im trying to mitigate with lots and lots of water and rest when I can, but it has caused me to spiral quite a bit worrying about whether they mean something could be wrong or they’re just harmless. I had a similar experience with my first but it didnt start until after 24/25 weeks. It strting this early just has me finding new things to worry about.

Any appointment updates? AS on the 18th and OB on the 20th.

Any big milestones? Just wanting to get through the AS and to viability.

  • @faithmovesmountains thinking of you these next few weeks ❤️

@Panaceia wohoo for your rocking chair! But boo to still being so sick 😔

@morgantu I whipped out my maternity pillow and omg what a difference with sleep, so worth it

@luckyduck42 sending love your way as you process ❤️ So exciting that DD is excited, I’m sure they will be an adorable duo!

@rachelredhead glad to see you here ❤️

@night_nurse so I also have been having consistent Braxton Hicks which scares the crap out of me, apparently it’s normal, but so sorry you’re dealing with this as well ❤️

    Weeks/EDD? 19w1d

Previous loss(es) (share as much or as little as you like)? MC in April

How are you feeling? Emotionally & physically? Ok Braxton Hicks but other than that can’t complain

Any appointment updates? AS next Thursday

Any big milestones? Will wait for AS to be my next milestone

@morgantu I upgraded myself this pregnancy to one of those pillows that goes 100% around your body and I kind of tuck it in under me at all angles like I’m in a little nest, it’s heavenly

I got it in the star pattern cause it’s $15 cheaper

  • @gembud I'm sorry you are feeling anxious. I'm sure everything is just fine, but I hope this week goes by quickly for you so you can get some reassurance.
  • Im so sorry @gembud I can completely sympathize. I feel like any divergence from norm before reaching viability is absolutely terrifying. I know you said earlier you were having some braxton hicks too. Do you have a doppler you can use to check in on baby? I hope the next 3 days pass as quickly as possible. Keep us updated ❤️
  • @night_nurse thankfully I found his heartbeat the minute I put the doppler on, now it’s more that PGAL brain thinking maybe he’s fine but my body is going to fail him. I cannot wait to hit viability

  • @gembud if it helps I had that feeling A LOT with #2 and am already feeling like that now with this one. I am sure your AS will go perfectly but I completely understand the panic involved in feeling anything that remotely reminds you of loss...I live in that place of panic on a constant basis. Sending so much love and hoping the next few days pass super quickly ❤ 💖 💓
  • @gembud
Thinking of you. Just take one day at a time.
  • @faithmovesmountains Getting through those loss milestones is tough - all of the extra tests and well checks are nerve racking but also reassuring to be told regularly that all is well.  Thinking of you in the coming weeks!

@Panaceia I feel awful that you just keep feeling awful! Hoping you get some relief - ASAP!

@luckyduck42  I’m glad you were able to get a definitive answer, to allow you time to prepare for baby’s arrival.  Hoping all is well with baby’s heart - sounds like your team is on top of monitoring you and baby.  It must have felt so nice to tell DD!

@rach@rachelredhead. Welcome back! I slip out whenever my anxiety is high as well.  It feels like writing about the pregnancy or acknowledging it in any way is going to jinx it.  But then other times it feels like everything is bottled up and I’ll break down if I don’t let it out!

@gembud @night_nurse That makes three of us! You worry when you have them, then they go away and you worry that they have stopped …

  • Weeks/EDD? 18 weeks!

Previous loss(es) (share as much or as little as you like)? Too many.

How are you feeling? Emotionally & physically?
This week I am an emotional mess.  Nearly cried today (and still might just let it out and have a good cry), over the silliest things.  My daughter brought her library books back to school today, but somehow the librarian didn’t scan them, so my daughter had to sit while the rest of the class picked out their books and got to bring them home.  Just the thought of her sitting there having to miss out had me ready to break down!

Any appointment updates? OB appointment tomorrow, anatomy scan 10/20.  They just started allowing a support partner in for the ultrasounds, so my husband will be coming!

Any big milestones? Got the call from my OB today that the blood work from the last two weeks has checked out :) Hematoma has been gone for two weeks now, and I haven’t had any spotting or bleeding in two weeks! Cramping on and off, but I’ll take it if there’s no blood!

Rants/Raves/Questions? I’m just a sad emotional mess over here.  Still don’t feel pregnant.  Looking forward to the scan next week, and hopefully getting the all clear with baby!

I have an ultrasound next week!

    Rants/Raves/Questions

Anyone with two girls? How is it 🥰
  • @pretzelmama28 I have 2 girls and it is the absolute best!!!! Despite the almost 6 year age difference they ADORE eachother and are eachother's favourite person in the world. They play together for hours every day and I just love watching them together ❤  We will hopefully be bringing this little boy home in March so it's going to be interesting to see what happens with the dynamic, but I know nothing could ever break the bond that my two girls have with eachother. You are going to love it 🥰
