Failed hearing test 3 times! Please help

My baby failed three times during her newborn hearing screening, and we were referred to the hospital's audiology department for a more complete assessment. It was suggested to me that it might be a range of issues that are only transitory and would pass in nine months. She is now 7 months old, she screams a lot and utters a few words, but she is indifferent to certain really loud noises. I'm very worried, has anyone gone through a similar experience? Any information on what to do would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello, this occurred to my child as well. At little over eight weeks, his hearing has returned to normal! I was worried when he failed hearing test several times before succeeding. The woman who did the test informed me that it's common for them to fail at first due to fluid in the ears, and that this is especially true with c-section infants. When the infant is a bit older, they just retest him or her, and the baby generally passes the tests.
