I’m 7 weeks today and had a scan and found out the heartbeat is slower than normal. I go back in 15 days. Incredibly worried. Hoping to hear positive outcomes because all I’ve heard are negative and this is my first time being pregnant
I actually have the same concern. I don’t see where OP has come back, but maybe someone can give me insight instead. At the 6w6d ultrasound we had a heartbeat that the doc said was ok but after googling it seems a bit low. They measured twice and both times were right around 117bpm. I know it’s still early, but it has me concerned. We had a low HR during the last pregnancy which resulted in a 7.5 week miscarriage. That HR was 110bpm. 117 doesn’t seem like that much of an improvement.
Hoping I’m just over thinking and making a deal out of something that is perfectly fine. We have another appointment next week which will be at 8w6d so I’m hoping we see an improvement. I’ve been so worried and I know it doesn’t help anything but I don’t know how to just relax and not stress.
Hey! So I’m still waiting on my second scan unfortunately. Nearly 3 weeks, so a few days away. It has been the longest wait. I’ll be 9 weeks when I go again. I’m just praying everything is okay.
@kma21514 I’m sorry for your previous loss. At 6.3-7w I believe a good heartbeat is 110 or higher. You hope to see it go up a bit from there in the following weeks.
Idk if this will help, I am currently 11w with mo/di twins and at our first u/s at 6w5d both twins had HRs of only 100. The following week at 7w5d one twin was at 135/140, the other 105. We were told at both of those appts we might lose one or both twins. But, each week they’ve gotten bigger and better and at 9w4d they both had heart rates of 176. They are the result of an FET with a PGT embryo, and this week we confirmed they are low risk for all trisomies. I don’t have another appt until a little after 12w, but as far as we can tell they are doing really well (they’ve measured a few days small consistently but it’s varied how much and at this point I’m not going to worry about it).
Congratulations and I how this is your rainbow baby.
@zamoraspin2 thank you, you’ve made me feel a bit better!
I also had an FET with a normal PGT embryo. This is our first FET after our MC so I tend to compare everything to the last pregnancy. Our next appointment is in two days so we will be looking for that HR to increase from last time. My symptoms are still strong so it keeps my mind at ease. My husband says I’m crazy to be glad I’m nauseous 24/7!
Congrats on the twins! I’m pretty sure twins usually measure small compared to singletons so FX that everything stays healthy and continues to move in the right direction!
I guess if the rate was slower than normal w/out a number its hard to tell. I know at my first appt. Her HR was a 109. Doc said it was low, but if you believe in old wives tales, its an indication of a boy.
Well baby was healthy and doc was wrong baby was a girl! Best of luck.
Update: Went today and everything looked fine and the heart rate was normal. I was incredibly worried because I’ve had minimal symptoms and a questionable initial scan but everything was good. So happy.

Glad all was good. Just know symptoms have no bearing on the outcome of pregnancy. Glad all is well.
Re: Heartbeat slower than normal?
I hope all is ok
