Weekly Randoms 9/13

What's going down this week? How was everyone's weekend?

My weekend was ok - played a lot with the kids, which was nice. The very end of the weekend, last night? Oy freaking vey.

Let me start by saying my youngest kid (he's almost 3) has been the easiest kid ever. I don't think he ever cried when I put him down to sleep, except for once a couple years ago. He'll be wide awake, but when it's time to sleep, he curls up and falls asleep. Dream child, really. Well, he broke last night, and of course it happened on the night my husband went out of town. Last night, he got up probably 25-30 times for a bunch of reasons, according to him: there was a tractor in his window, there was a sound in his bed, he wanted his air purifier off, then he wanted it on, he had to pee two times, had to poop once…  At midnight I was desperate. He now said there was a spider in his room. Whatever. Get in my bed so we can sleep. To his credit (and my frustration too) he went to sleep immediately. This morning, we went into his room. There was actually a spider. WTF! IF THAT WAS THE REASON ALL ALONG WHY DIDN’T YOU SAY SO? Ugh. So tired. Thankfully my husband will be home tonight. I still don't really know why he kept getting up. I'm afraid for tonight... and it's Bachelor in Paradise night! :(

I also had my fetal EKG this morning. 40 minutes of just looking at the heart. I like seeing the baby, but I was falling asleep, haha. Everything checked out, though - heart looks great.

Now for a nap.

  • @Lisa3379 oh man that sounds so frustrating!

We had an ok weekend. I was a moody crabby overwhelmed mess so that made it not so fun. Today I got out of the house and went to a moms running group and it felt really good to get out and moving but now my hip is throbbing and this baby feels like she’s about to fall out of my pelvis. It kinda feels like I can’t win. I need to exercise for my mental health but if I get my mental health better that way my physical health falls apart and I am miserable all over again. Just ugh.

  • @Lisa3379 ugh that's the worst! I'm glad he eventually fell asleep in your bed, but awful getting to that point!
Damn spider! And damn that window tractor lol.
    Was last night any better?

@MrsJessS I'm feeling the same about exercise. I rode my bike with my husband yesterday to pick up our some from daycare, and now I'm dealing with tailbone discomfort....never had that before this bike ride. Like, come onnnnnnnn.

I just had the anatomy scan this am. Awaiting results, but from what I could tell, everything looked alright.

I also had a chat with the clinic owner from I've been working yesterday. I told her I am not renewing my contract, and framed my reasoning around family, working less and making the same $$ (all true, but the least offensive reasons as to why I'm leaving), and it went well. I'll finish out the month there, and then be solely working from home.
    Woot.
  • @MrsJessS @sarah_is_pregnant That's the worst, I'm sorry. I even feel a little of this just walking, like I'm walking differently and it's stressing different muscles or something, so I'm just a lot more sore than I would be.

Thankfully last night was better with my kid's new bedtime issues. He pulled the "I have to poop!" thing right when I left his room, so I plopped him on the potty and of course, nothing happened. Then he went back to bed but turned his light on. I just ignored it. I knew he was tired, so who cares if he falls asleep with the light on? We turned it off when he was asleep and he stayed there all night. Then both were up by 6:20, a little early but I was thankful I got a full-ish night's sleep (other than the two times I had to get up to pee, haha).

I absolutely love that you say oy freaking vey too. Everyone around here (where I live) makes fun of me for saying it.
  • @Browder5 Haha! I've said that for years. My mom kinda laughs when I say it, that's about it. It just conveys how I feel so well  :D
