Health/Fitness Goal (and why, if you want to share): continue moving throughout this pregnancy and maintain a healthy weight
Week's Successes: I worked out once and I went on a 9km walk with some friends from work. I pushed the stroller for about 4 of it through a grassed path. I was surprised that other people wanted to push the stroller lol.
Week's Challenges: so darn tired, and busy. I don't even want to put it down because it's stressing me out.
GTKY: What was the best vacation you’ve ever been on? Oh not a typical one, my H and I did backcountry backpacking before DD1 was born. My favorite one was a 3 day 2 night trip around Lake Louise ski area. 56 kms total with 2,171 It was so incredibly beautiful. I can't wait to take our kids there one day. There's something so special about being in a place that not many people have seen compared to the amount of visitors the area gets in the front country.
It's not the clearest picture but it shows something.
Health/Fitness Goal (and why, if you want to share): I just want to eat healthy and exercise a couple times a week so that I can be ready for labor and so that I have a foundation to return to after baby is born.
Week's Successes: I went for my first jog since August! It was really pitiful but I'm glad I did it
Week's Challenges: feeling too tired most days to cook a healthy meal. I need to learn to prep better
GTKY: My best vacation was a 1 month trip to SE Asia, most of which was spent in Cambodia
Health/Fitness Goal (and why, if you want to share): Continue my regular at home yoga practice 4-5 days/week.
Week's Successes: Yoga every day after work this week, and I FINALLY have more energy and an appetite again!! So I’ve finally been able to expand my diet past white toast!!! 😅 Baby boy’s finally getting some real nutrients besides from my multi!
Week's Challenges: I still feel tired after about a half hour of yoga, but I’m hopeful as I get into the 2nd trimester I’ll be able to work toward an hour at a time again!
GTKY: What was the best vacation you’ve ever been on? Oooh we’ve been on so many we loved! Costa Rica and Corsica were amazing, but I think our best experience was in Alaska last summer! We love hiking and went on some incredible mountain hikes! Hubby loved the fishing for salmon and halibut of course, along with the fresh fish dinners every night 🤤, while I fell in love with the glacier hike where we repelled into deep crevasses and explored the blue ice caves and blue ice pools! 💙 Seriously the coolest experience ever!!!!
I made the discussion and then abandoned it, so maybe I should participate? 🤦🏻♀️
@miss_lynn9 Backpacking was our pre-kids thing, too! I really miss it. We’re moving to Northern California in February and we already have plans for camping and (eventual) backpacking.
@emky0704 SE Asia is on my bucket list! So jealous!
Health/Fitness Goal (and why, if you want to share): Keep up my energy levels, stay fit as possible, and be prepared for intervention-free L&D and recovery.
Week's Successes: One walk, one yoga, one HIIT! First HIIT in maybe a month. I felt like garbage afterwards (seriously, who does three minutes of Burpees), but I’m so glad I was able to do it.
Week's Challenges: I had a few good days in a row nausea-wise and was tooting my horn thinking I was hot shit, and thennnnnn it came back with a vengeance and I found myself lying on the bathroom floor at 11pm sobbing. It’s fine during the day, if I remember to eat every few hours, but at night it’s like WHOA
GTKY: What was the best vacation you’ve ever been on? We’ve been to every island in Hawaii you can legally visit, except for Lanai (just bought our tickets to visit next month!), and they are all breathtaking. But I think my favorite vacation was two weeks DH and I spent after he returned from a year-long deployment. We road-tripped and backpacked/camped at the Grand Canyon and Yosemite, and finished with three nights in a B&B in Napa.
@miss_lynn9 So does your trip! If you’re backpacking/hiking people you would absolutely fall in love with Alaska! Breathtaking scenery literally everywhere, even just looking off the highway!
@emky0704 SE Asia is on our list! Thailand looks so beautiful and we’re foodies so we would love to go and just eat our hearts out in Thai food! 😋 I’m sure the culture and temples over there are so interesting to see too!
@miss_lynn9 Those pictures are gorgeous! I really need to try backpacking sometime.
@minnie_yoga_mama Wow, look at those glaciers!! I’ve never seen a glacier in person.
Health/Fitness Goal (and why, if you want to share): Stay active throughout pregnancy to minimize extra weight gain and be able to get back into races after birth
Week's Successes: Um none. Hopefully this weekend I get moving!
Week's Challenges: I started my new job and oh my goodness this first trimester is so much more exhausting without being able to veg and nap. I should have exercised in the evenings but just didn’t.
GTKY: What was the best vacation you’ve ever been on? I think Kauai is my favorite location. I’ve been three times, two as a kid/teen and once for my honeymoon about six years ago. The hikes and scenery are just absolutely breathtaking! I seem to have deleted most of the pics off my phone except for this one.
