I noted full moon to MH when we were out walking our stubborn a$$ dog last night. He doesn’t know about the Peggies but I giggled inside while also prepping myself.
Omg every time I was getting a photo of my OPK it was reading 0 in Premom. I didn't want to stay in my office's bathroom (solo toilet) for too long since it shares a wall with a conference room that was occupied. I spent probably 3 minutes AT MY DESK trying to get a photo that it could read 🙈
Thank God our office is relatively empty and no one is currently in my row of cubicles. Somebody was walking by as I was stashing the OPK wrapper with the test in it into my backpack.

@anniemarie887 I watched it almost in one sitting! I listened to The Dream, a podcast about MLMs a couple years ago so it wasn’t too surprising. But very interesting! And so frustrating for the people getting taken advantage of.
I finished LuLaRich earlier this week. I also loved taking a look "behind the scenes." I was totally one who fell for the craze and bought a ton of clothes and I do still wear some from the beginning/ when the quality was better (skirts, dresses, etc.) .

i'm so glad you all enjoyed it! what a train wreck. i really enjoyed Derryl in the end fantasizing about sitting at the restaurant across the way and watching the feds bust up the main office and take everything away. it's sad for the women where it clearly ruined their lives/marriages. i've never bought anything from them, but know some girls from high school who used to sell it.

Okay, so after all the chatter, I also went ahead and watched Lula Rich. It's definitely an interesting, in-depth view of an MLM. Jon Oliver did an episode on MLMs a while back too, but this is way more detailed. I'm actually pretty surprised they're still in business. The leaders appear to be out of touch with reality re: what they actually did. Anyway, I never knew anything about it until you girls started mentioning it. I don't think the company ever made it to Canada and I didn't move to the US until 2018.
Speaking of MLMs, does anyone here buy anything from one? I actually get my skincare from Neora, which is an MLM. I used to also use Monat hair products, but they all have fragrances so I've now stopped.
@acleverusername I've admittedly never really had any interest in many of the streaming shows/movies (so like Bird Box, Tiger King, even Stranger Things, etc). I may or may not watch Lula Rich but it sounds interesting.
To answer your question, yes I've bought quite a few things from MLM companies, some of them out of obligation because a family member was selling it, other stuff because I actually like it. Like does Tupperware count as MLM? Because I love Tupperware and Pampered Chef.
I'll put this in a spoiler because it's not that interesting to anyone that doesn't care about what MLM products I've bought over the years
Modere - My brother got somewhat conned into selling it for a while by one of my parents' friends, and while I did like their products I think I was buying it to support him. I have not bought anything since.
Arbonne - friend had a party, I was invited, bought some stuff out of obligation, have never used it since.
Melaleuka - same thing, friend got kinda strong-armed into selling it to help out another friend who was just starting out. We bought some stuff to help her out.
Epicure - I don't know if this is really mainstream in the US but they're known for their spice blends/meal helpers and I LOVE their products. My friend that was selling it isn't doing it anymore and I don't really like the new rep but continue to buy it because I like it. And also it's owned and operated by a Canadian mom and daughter.
Origami Owl - they make little charm jewellery. Same idea, friend had a party, etc etc.
Cutco - my Dad bought me a set and now when I want to add on to it I end up with more Cutco. They're ok but like, not the greatest. *edited to fix typo
PartyLite - My mom's SAHM friends had a lot of these kinds of direct sales parties growing up and once I was old enough to buy my own I got roped in too. I actually liked PartyLite more than Scentsy. The dog's Mom (I'm his step-mom lol) is a SAHM and sells like half of these things so when we pick him up from there he stinks like candles for a few days
I'm sure I'm missing some, and this only includes the stuff I actually bought. I've been invited to parties for leggings, essential oils, hair, I remember the R&F reps I had in my friends list were SUPER aggressive, to the point where even when I was interested in their products I was put off by their approach so I never did end up buying anything.

I recent bought a couple Pampered Chef items. Almost bought the cake pan that allows you to make cakes in all the letters and numbers. But I don't bake much so that'd be waste lol.
I buy a particular spice blend from Wildtree (rancher steak rub) and Tastefully Simple (seasoned salt)
For clothing I have a scarf from some MLM I don't know (SIL's coworker is a rep) and my mom bought me a Lularoe shirt that I actually really like. It's this black and white geometric tunic top.
The MLM I've bought the most from is actually Norwex. Their mop is great and DH really likes their detergent because it's not scented. I have a couple of their cloths but aren't good about utilizing them because I have a crap ton of cleaning products to use up. My aunt, who retired from a company that makes cleaning products didn't seem to object to claims by Norwex.
@kiki047 I'm wondering if Tupperware is even considered an MLM anymore. I mean, can't you find some of their items in stores these days?
I personally don't mind MLMs, but I've also never been aggressively talked to about either joining as a rep or buying their products. If I had to guess that's more common with the health/weight loss/essential oil type of MLMs

I used to sell It Works and I really liked their products but it got weird so I stopped. I don’t use the products anymore either. I’ve bought a bunch of stuff, usually just to help someone out.
I’ve bought from MLMs when my friends have parties but have not and will not (never say never but I’m pretty confident here) host a party myself. I will say like @gingermama29 that I love Color Street.
I watched LuLaRich when I was home sick a couple weeks ago. Totally worth bingeing it. No offense to anyone here, but I never tried any of their items. I thought the clothing patterns were hideous and couldn’t understand the frenzy. (Albeit, I never wore the “buttery-soft leggings” so I will never know what I was missing out on.) There were so many girls selling LuLaRoe in my area in 2016-2017 that it was total visual & marketing overload.
Maybe this is a FFFC, but I’m horrible and haven’t supported any of my friends selling MLM products. Some of them got sucked into an MLM scheme with The Body Shop, or selling Rodan & Fields, or Arbonne, etc. I remember being a kid and my mom letting friends host Arbonne parties in our living room; some in the neighborhood tried selling Amway cleaning products; and we grew up with Melaleuca products in the bathroom cabinet. It always seemed like the sellers got the short end of the stick. I’ve had friends turn into psychos touting the “lifestyle” of ACN and HerbaLife. They sound so cult-y. Don’t even get me started on the Young Living essential oils craze. I just don’t believe in the MLM structure and the brainwashing that seems to go with it. So I won’t support it. I did have one friend take it personally but for me it’s the principle, not the person.
*ETA: My sister recently lost a ton of weight using Arbonne natural diet products (drink this fizzy vitamin drink for breakfast, eat a healthy lunch & dinner, exercise.) She looks and feels amazing. I like that they’re all natural. Rodan & Fields seems to work well too. I’m just not into any of it.
@keikilove Agreed! I hated like 2015-2018 when tons of ppl I knew in HS suddenly 'friended' my on FB to be all "Do you want X cause I'm hosting a party!!!" #BossBabe" And I shuddered a lot.
I do use Doterra oils, cause I get bad headaches/migraines and they have a few oils that have seriously helped me out so that I don't down Excedrin Migraine by the bottle-fuls and then have caffeine shakes, and medicine hangovers where I want to vomit (I'm super sensitive to caffeine). I also do BeachBody, but again, that's more because I like their workouts and some of their supplements (which don't give me shakes)... and I'm not in it to peddle to my friends on FB and force them to guiltily buy crap from me.
*DISCLAIMER!!!!! I went to a wine festival by my house over the weekend. In my drunken state, I found a cute pair of Lularoe leggings I wanted to buy, and so forked out the money to give them a go. LMAO. I'll update you soon as to whether they are 'buttery soft' or if the buttery soft is just from me spilling actual butter down them.
To be fair... we then also went and bought a new oven, since DH broke ours that morning while I was gone. So... all the drunk purchases!

Speaking of MLMs, does anyone here buy anything from one? I actually get my skincare from Neora, which is an MLM. I used to also use Monat hair products, but they all have fragrances so I've now stopped.

To answer your question, yes I've bought quite a few things from MLM companies, some of them out of obligation because a family member was selling it, other stuff because I actually like it. Like does Tupperware count as MLM? Because I love Tupperware and Pampered Chef.
I'll put this in a spoiler because it's not that interesting to anyone that doesn't care about what MLM products I've bought over the years
Arbonne - friend had a party, I was invited, bought some stuff out of obligation, have never used it since.
Melaleuka - same thing, friend got kinda strong-armed into selling it to help out another friend who was just starting out. We bought some stuff to help her out.
Epicure - I don't know if this is really mainstream in the US but they're known for their spice blends/meal helpers and I LOVE their products. My friend that was selling it isn't doing it anymore and I don't really like the new rep but continue to buy it because I like it. And also it's owned and operated by a Canadian mom and daughter.
Origami Owl - they make little charm jewellery. Same idea, friend had a party, etc etc.
Cutco - my Dad bought me a set and now when I want to add on to it I end up with more Cutco. They're ok but like, not the greatest. *edited to fix typo
PartyLite - My mom's SAHM friends had a lot of these kinds of direct sales parties growing up and once I was old enough to buy my own I got roped in too. I actually liked PartyLite more than Scentsy. The dog's Mom (I'm his step-mom lol) is a SAHM and sells like half of these things so when we pick him up from there he stinks like candles for a few days
I'm sure I'm missing some, and this only includes the stuff I actually bought. I've been invited to parties for leggings, essential oils, hair, I remember the R&F reps I had in my friends list were SUPER aggressive, to the point where even when I was interested in their products I was put off by their approach so I never did end up buying anything.

I recent bought a couple Pampered Chef items. Almost bought the cake pan that allows you to make cakes in all the letters and numbers. But I don't bake much so that'd be waste lol.
I buy a particular spice blend from Wildtree (rancher steak rub) and Tastefully Simple (seasoned salt)
For clothing I have a scarf from some MLM I don't know (SIL's coworker is a rep) and my mom bought me a Lularoe shirt that I actually really like. It's this black and white geometric tunic top.
The MLM I've bought the most from is actually Norwex. Their mop is great and DH really likes their detergent because it's not scented. I have a couple of their cloths but aren't good about utilizing them because I have a crap ton of cleaning products to use up. My aunt, who retired from a company that makes cleaning products didn't seem to object to claims by Norwex.
@kiki047 I'm wondering if Tupperware is even considered an MLM anymore. I mean, can't you find some of their items in stores these days?
I personally don't mind MLMs, but I've also never been aggressively talked to about either joining as a rep or buying their products. If I had to guess that's more common with the health/weight loss/essential oil type of MLMs

I do use Doterra oils, cause I get bad headaches/migraines and they have a few oils that have seriously helped me out so that I don't down Excedrin Migraine by the bottle-fuls and then have caffeine shakes, and medicine hangovers where I want to vomit (I'm super sensitive to caffeine). I also do BeachBody, but again, that's more because I like their workouts and some of their supplements (which don't give me shakes)... and I'm not in it to peddle to my friends on FB and force them to guiltily buy crap from me.
*DISCLAIMER!!!!! I went to a wine festival by my house over the weekend. In my drunken state, I found a cute pair of Lularoe leggings I wanted to buy, and so forked out the money to give them a go. LMAO. I'll update you soon as to whether they are 'buttery soft' or if the buttery soft is just from me spilling actual butter down them.
To be fair... we then also went and bought a new oven, since DH broke ours that morning while I was gone. So... all the drunk purchases!
