GTKY: Where have you lived?

(Brought to you by "country mouse city mouse", on Cocomelon 😅)

Answer as much or little as you like, with as much or little detail as you're comfortable with.

Where have you called home through your life?

If you've lived in more than one place, which was your favourite and why?

What are your favourite and least favourite things about your current city?

If a friend were to visit, and they had never been to your city, what is the top 1 or 2 things you'd take them to do/see?

  • @jessier19 Princeton is so nice! I had DS at Princeton’s hospital too and I couldn’t have asked for better postpartum nurses, they were amazing. I’ll be having this one at St Peter’s though since we moved a bit further out

  • @gembud wow you're so close! How cool! I live less than ten minutes from the Princeton hospital, but I ended up delivering my first at Capital Health (about 20min south of us) and will do the same for this one. It's further out, but I adore my midwife and that's where she delivers, so it feels worth it to me
  • I am from Manitoba, and I have essentially lived in the same city my whole life 😅
I did move for 1 year, after university, for Paramedic school.
I do love to travel though haha.

Best thing is probably that overall, people are friendly and want to help each other out.
Worst would be that there is really not much to do.
Also, we keep hitting -56 in the winter lately. So that's not super fun ha.

If someone came to visit...it would depend on the time of year. We have some fun festivals in the summer. And apparently our restaurant scene is decent. In winter, there's a record-breaking snow maze nearby that I've been wanting to check out. And of course skating and tobogganing is a fun way to burn some energy. But there really is nothing exciting here 😅
  • I was born in Louisiana and stayed there until I was 6. My parents decided to move us up to the Northeast to be closer to family, so I've lived in in South Jersey through high school. Went to college in the Philly burbs, and have been living in the city since 2014. I have lived in the suburbs most of my life, and love living in a city that is so walkable and with lots to do on the weekends. However, the parking is not great, and it's as if we have a "curfew" of 7:30pm, or you're going in circles to find street parking! We are eventually moving back to the suburbs, just not sure where yet!

Philly is known for their cheesesteaks and our "rough" sports fans! However, there are lots of great parks, historical areas, beautiful brownstone houses, museums, and lovely BYOB restaurants!
  • I'm from a small town in Southern indiana.  Born and raised.  I've moved to nearby towns but never moved away, though I've always wanted to.  Family kept me rooted here.  I love the small town, everyone knows everyone feel.   I dislike that it's 30 minutes to a decent restaurant thats not just a diner.  My story is fairly boring as is my town, but I do love it.
