Trying to Get Pregnant

Re: GTKY Wednesday 9.15

  • There are quite a few foods I eat now that I didn’t eat as a kid. Onion is probably the biggest one. I hated the texture right up through college. Plenty of different veggies. Didn’t like avocado as a kid either.
  • I used to think guacamole was gross and then it grew on me. I also hated fish as a kid. Never did I ever have fish sticks. My mom would also always offer a bite of her fish when we'd be out at restaurants. At some point I finally sampled an entree I thought tasted good and it blew up from there. I could easily eat salmon every day now haha

  • Potatoes 🤣 I didn’t eat potatoes until I was 17/18 years old. The only form I was down with were French fries, no roasted, mashed, baked, sweet, nothing. I still don’t like sweet potatoes. But I do like potatoes in general now.
Tacos. I hated tacos. Now I LOVE them.
I also never liked ketchup and milk chocolate. I still don’t love them, but I’ll eat them occasionally. I’ve always loved dark chocolate.

@pinkkillersheep  & @i@inthewoods23 Re: avocado/guacamole- I don’t think I was ever exposed as a child. My mom wasn’t a great cook and just did really basic meals. I’m curious how I would have felt about it. 🤔
  • @paytonpedro I was like that with bell peppers. It was something my mom just never cooked with. I only started eating bell peppers after DH and I started dating.

  • I think probably a lot of the vegetables like broccoli, but there's not really one specific thing that sticks out to me.
  • +1 or not trying a huge variety of foods as a kid. My mom is, to this day, one of the pickiest eaters I know because of some childhood allergies she had so we had a fairly limited and bland menu growing up. My parents think it's wild that I eat brussels sprouts now.  :D
  • Beets.
Roasted with goat cheese and honey drizzle. Omg i have to make some now. Lol
