How are you feeling? What are you noticing about body changes? Good, bad, or confusing - let's share!

(I need a space for normalizing all these experiences that isn't Dr. Google because then I think I am dying ☹😆. I imagine I am not the only one 😊)

Appetite: give me ALL the sweet and carby things. It's going to be a rough transition back to healthy eating habits when babe comes. (And yes, I realized that I'm doing it to myself.) I do still find that I get full faster than usual. And still no to chicken breast and hamburgers/ground beef. 🤢

    Other:
-I've been getting recurring canker sores on my tongue that are very painful and make it difficult to eat.
-every now and then I get a very tender/sore spot on the front of my stomach by my belly button. Almost feels bruised. And feels different than RLP.
-inability to fully sleep through the night. I probably lightly wake up 2-3 times. I'm normally a very heavy sleeper who has trouble getting up in the morning. Lately I've been awake and getting up now problem. My coworkers are wondering what's happening to me because I'm getting to work before them. Typically I'm rolling in right at 8am. 😂
-feeling LOTS of movement. Typically more so in the morning, and especially at night.

  • I feel gigantic. My bellybutton is a shell of its former self and it's like a ticking time bomb before it pops out.

I have no trouble falling asleep at night, but staying asleep is difficult. I was up from like 1-4am last night and finally just had to go into the living room to watch TV.

And the heartburn. Oh, the heartburn.
  • @magalina_h I have also been partial to sweets...Specifically rootbeer. I dont think I've had rootbeer for over 10 years prior to this!

@fifilala516 omg yes, the heartburn is terrible!!! It is waking me up in the middle of the night. It seems like any and every kind of food causes it. 😩

I've also been experiencing dull ache in my lower abdomen which I am thinking is related to constipation (which has also gotten worse). Anyone else experiencing this?

  • Chips. Anything salt which I NEVER eat salt. I don’t even add It to my food! I caved on some burger king nuggets the other day too, not normally a fast food goer😳
  • @fifilala516 - omg same on the heartburn!  I pretty much eat tums every day now!  I know it’s better when I eat healthier but I don’t crave healthy lol.
  • @firewife_911 I don’t eat fast food often and especially not McDonald’s but I’ve had it 3 times this pregnancy.

@karenmarie9 I usually eat pretty healthy but haven’t been craving healthy things. Same with last pregnancy.
  • Overall, I'm feeling decent. Sickness has mostly gone away, but I feel in the last week that strong sense of smell has returned and some smells that usually wouldn't bother me, do. Appetite is good but I can't eat everything I want because of gestational diabetes 🙄. Sleeping has been average and for heartburn I finally started taking one Pepcid AC each day and that has helped tremendously!
TMI, I've had a lot of discharge here the past week or so.
  • @nik012 add me to the increased discharge camp too.

  • My dreams have been pretty vivid lately. Last night, I dreamt that I was bleeding vaginally, and that the end of a big toe cake out of me, as well as a manilla. So. That was unnerving.
And I had sleep paralysis the other night...so weird.
Aside from this, having a little more pelvic discomfort than with my first pregnancy, but nothing major thus far. Sometimes a feeling of heaviness in my pelvic floor.
Just wanna get through the next 4 months and meet this little guy.
  • I think the big time blues hit me last night. It’s incredible how one flit of a troublesome thought can quickly spiral into depression and anxiety. I’m concerned about work/life balance after maternity leave. There’s no possible way I can know what day-to-day or week-to-week is going to look like at that point in time, so why am I so stuck in it? I’m convinced I am going to be miserable and sad about my life when that time comes. My plan in the immediate to cope with this is to keep trucking on with my activities, exercise, socializing, and chores. On Fridays my husband and I do weekly checkins where we have time carved out to talk specifically about our concerns and gratitudes, both big and little. I am going to talk with him about how I am feeling then. We’ll come up with a more long term plan, I’m sure.
As for other symptoms, I had some occipital neuralgia last week out of nowhere, the pubic symphisis (sp?) is gradually getting worse, and constipation and breast and nipple pain are back.

Thank you all for letting me get this off my chest. Even if it’s TLDR, I still got it out of my head and into the ether, and that’s already helpful.
  • @MagalinaH I can so relate with craving all the sweets and falling off the healthy eating train a bit.. trying to get back on track but I’m definitely craving chocolate and all the fall treats. Sleep has also been tough (through this whole pregnancy) but I’m generally up at least twice and have a harder time getting up in the morning then.

My biggest thing over the last couple weeks is soreness in the lower back/ pelvis area.. I feel like all my joints are so loose and specifically my SI joints are sore and driving me nuts. Any tips or exercise ideas to help with SI joint pain/ stability?
  • Pure exhaustion. I just feel drained all the time. I'm sure that's more chasing 3 little ones all day. They steal my energy. Poor DH has to wake me up from he couch every night to go to bed. Some nights je just gives up and lets me sleep.

I 2nd the heartburn. It's fierce. I find that a small sip of milk helps. But only temporarily. Then its raging again..i feel like a fire breathing dragon.

I have no patience anymore. So irritable. And I try to keep it under control. Sometimes its easier tham others.

Late night hunger. I feel like I'm starving at night.

Sore boobs... Thought that went away after 1st trimester. For me. Not so much.
  • Oh yeah, the discharge is gross. I honestly thought my water broke the other morning (God forbid!)
  • Yep, discharge over here. Also, my boobs are getting so big/heavy and uncomfortable. I felt like with DS they didn’t get super big until a few weeks before my EDD. I cannot wait for them to get back to their normal size.
  • @fifilala516 Hahaha I feel you. I change my underwear at least a couple times a day. Sometimes I feel like it's just getting suuuuuuuper sweaty, too. So gross  :D

OMG!!! that is so bizzare that you say the sleep paralysis. I had that like a week ago & It was the scariest thing ever. I really thought I had a stroke in my sleep or something.
  • @firewife_911 ya it was weird. I feel like I've had it before,  but am not sure. I was totally coherent and thought 'huh. This isn't right' so I tried to lift my head a few times, and couldn't. I just moved my eyes around the room, made sure there was no boogeyman, and decided to close my eyes to go back to sleep so I could wake up normally and move lol.
