Trying to Get Pregnant

TWW Tuesday 9/14

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Thanks for keeping this a safe place for us all to engage!**

    Month/Cycle: 34/36

    CD/DPO: 22/5

    Timing: -4, -2, -1

Typical LP length: used to be 12-13, dropped down to 10 but is occasionally longer again. Last cycle (first cycle after BCP) it was only 8. So basically no clue when to expect AF

    Testing: Not sure

R/R: My RE office is being annoying about my biopsy results. Results were posted to my quest account on 9/3 but then last week the nurse at the clinic said they were still waiting for some results. But couldn’t/wouldn’t tell me  what these mysterious extra results were for. Then this weekend, identical results were posted to my RE’s portal and are also dated 9/3. I’m wondering if for some reason my office missed them or didn’t get them originally, and someone went looking for them after I sent the message? I didn’t hear from them yesterday so I sent a message today. I feel so annoying but I’m also very annoyed.

CS/Q: I think my cover line is higher than it should be so not concerned about the drop today

  • @bows22 ugh that’s so annoying. I hope you hear back from them quickly!

    Month/Cycle: 27/1AL

    CD/DPO: 33/13

    Timing: not good enough

    Typical LP length: 13

    Testing: BFN

R/R: so sorry I’ve been absent lately. The beginning of this school year has been so stressful any insanely busy. Got a stark white BFN today and am expecting AF tomorrow. I think we’re going to go NTNP just for next cycle because my brother is getting married in June which would be the next BMB if we are successful. I have my annual scheduled at the end of the month and will have a conversation with my OB then about maybe referring me to a RE.

    CS/Q:

  • Loading the player...
  • @bows22 it does sound like maybe they didn’t get the results and had to track them down but that’s still annoying. I’m sorry. I’m annoyed for you. Hopefully they get back to you promptly today!

@gingermama29 glad to see you back! Hb that thunderstorm last night? Did it affect you at all? Hopefully your days at work calm down a little after the first (full) week when the kids finally figure out what they’re doing.

    Month/Cycle: 4/3AL

    CD/DPO: 22/9dpo

    Timing: -2

    Typical LP length: 10 days

Testing: maybe Thursday, wanted to test today even though I told myself I would wait but I couldn’t find my tests so thanks universe. I forgot when I grabbed them out of our camper they were in my purse. So I found them and am now fighting off the urge to test during the day. The logical part of me knows it would very likely be bfn.

R/R: just when I thought fall was finally coming, it’s supposed to be back up into the 80’s. Ugh. Not really much else going on. Still working on organizing my husband clothes in our room. I thought I had things how I wanted them but when I woke up I just wasn’t happy with it. But my husband has acknowledged that he has to buy (me) new curtains for the bedroom now. 😁

CS/Q: the two night prior to last night it was warm in my room and my back hurt so I really tossed and turned. Last night I definitely slept much more comfortably and I think my temp reflects that? Hopefully.

  • @bows22 Argh, I hate going back and forth with the clinic via messages. It's such a waste of time. Did you speak to the nurse last week by phone? Honestly, I asked my nurse a questions last week (like Wednesday), and she still hasn't gotten back to me. Now I'm annoyed for both of us. I hope you can get to the bottom of this.

@gingermama29 I'm sorry about the BFN. There go our plans to be in a BMB together. I think a referral to an RE is probably the right call at this point.

@paytonpedro Lol at the arrangement with YH about curtains. I hope you can figure out how to arrange his clothes in a manner that pleases you. Are you one of those organizing gurus by the way?

    Month/Cycle: 19/17

    CD/DPO: 37/13

Timing: High, but that doesn't matter

Typical LP length: well, normally it's 10ish. But looks like I managed to eek out a normal-length LP this time?

    Testing: Nah

R/R: I've been really annoyed with my period dragging its feet because it literally blocks my next ER cycle. And we just booked a trip for my sister to come visit _around_ that ER cycle. So, I was really happy to see a spot of red when I wiped this morning. I've been experiencing some cramps for the last 1-2 days, so glad to see stuff is finally happening. If full flow arrives today before 4pm, today is CD1 and I can get my ER calendar.

I had a big presentation at work yesterday; at one point, we hit 257 Zoom attendees. I was presenting with my team. I was going last, and while it all turned out great, I was really annoyed with my co-presenters because in practices, their sections were too long, so their instructions were to make it shorter. But instead, they went ahead and made it longer! So, it's a good thing that I was able to stick to my 5 minutes. Unfortunately, we'd wanted the presentation to be around 30 min, but it went to 45, so we only had 15 min for Q&A.

I'm in a b*tchy mood today; no doubt because of that Peggy.

    CS/Q: nope

  • @acleverusername lol no. I used to be super duper organized but my husband is the exact opposite. So thus, here we are. I just like things visually appealing lol. Totally told him if I had to clean up after him I was getting something out of the deal.
I apologize, I don’t know you’re full situation (I try to stalk IF but I don’t know a lot of the abbreviations) but have you considered taking a test?
I’m really glad your presentation went well, although it ran over. 257 Zoom attendees!? That’s crazy! I didn’t even realize the platform supported that many! Were they all on video or were some people phoned in? Either way, super impressive!
Hear you with the Peggys. It’s so hard for me not to be snarky, so I’m glad you ladies usually make it there first.
  • @paytonpedro I'm too jaded to take a test unless there's a real good reason to. Lol. As for Zoom, when we do these types of presentation, we use their Webinar product, which I believe supports 500 attendees. I think most people join from their computers, but for Webinars, only the presenters have their video enabled.

  • @gingermama29 I’m sorry for the BFN! Ugh. I was really hoping this was going to be it for you. But that’s pretty nice timing with your annual appt coming up.

@paytonpedro it’s so hard to resist when you are in the house all day with tests!

@acleverusername so when I call the nurse line there is only an option to leave a message, not to speak to anyone, and if you do leave a message they send you a message back through the portal unless it’s like to schedule something. There is really no way to speak to a live person unless they deem you worthy. I am certainly not worthy in their eyes. Anyway, I hope AF shows up for you today! And that your nurse gets back to you! So annoying.

As an update to my RE annoyances, after going back and forth with the nurse that yes, I do have a protocol placed and no, I do not need an appointment, she has reached out to the RE to confirm. Crossing my fingers that was the last hurdle!
  • @bows22 YAY! Woo! So... if not KU'ed this cycle, you're going straight for IUI next cycle?

  • @acleverusername as long as the RE sticks to what she told me during my biopsy! I have no faith in anyone there so I’m not going to get my hopes totally up until I hear back from the nurse. But I don’t see any reason why she would change her mind!
  • @acleverusername I meant to ask but the brain fog is so real! Congratulations!!! That’s so great!! Now you just gotta start looking at campers! 😉

    @bows22 one step closer!?!?! Hopefully!!!
  • @paytonpedro I’m so over these overnight thunderstorms! It wasn’t too bad where I was; the worst of it was just south of me. Did you get it bad? And it is so hard to fight the urge to POAS!! I did better with tasting this cycle because I was out of cheapies and didn’t want to waste my FRERs 😂.

@acleverusername agreed! I was so hoping we could be May buddies. Here’s hoping for the next one 🤷‍♀️. Sorry AF is dragging its feet.

@bows22 glad you finally heard back!! FX for no more hurdles!!
  • Month/Cycle: 2/2

    CD/DPO: 30/14-15

    Timing: okay

    Typical LP length: averaging 12

Testing: Tested at lunch today, BFN. AF was predicted 3 days apart on my apps with the latest today. So after BFM, I'm expecting it tomorrow. That would be a long cycle for me - not unheard of but definitely not common.

R/R: I'm sorry if it looks like I am not interested in everyone's posts - I am! I read them all and look through as many boards as I can. I just feel like I am drowning mentally and it seems impossible to be to respond to people. That sounds so dumb, but it is where I am.

Rave: I don't know if you guys know about apple cider mimosas but they're one of my faves this time of year and I've been enjoying!

    CS/Q: Not right now.

  • @jellie603 definitely don't feel bad about not replying to each and every one of us. A few months ago, I clarified that there is no unwritten rule that you must reply to everyone. If you don't have anything to say / contribute to someone's update, then it's perfectly fine to not say anything (I prefer that instead of someone making inane small talk.) And certainly please stop feeling like it's dumb. There's enough for you to beat yourself up over; this shouldn't be yet another thing.

@paytonpedro btw, I shared the corgi heart butt images with MH and he said "that is horrific" lol. My friends thought it was funny though. Also, a colleague shared this with me today:

  • @bows22 I’m annoyed for you at the back and forth. Hopefully you’re right that you’re past the last hurdle!
@gingermama29 Sorry for the BFN :( Good to see you back in the dailies! I imagine the school year has been tough. Are things calming down at all?
@paytonpedro I realize this is totally unsolicited but FWIW I got an adjustable bed about a year ago and it has worked wonders for my lower back pain.
@acleverusername Congrats on the presentation going well! And congrats on the car!
@jellie603 Do not feel bad! I imagine it like triaging when I’m in that space. Focus your energy on the most critical things.

    Month/Cycle: 5/4

    CD/DPO: 30/10

    Timing: -2, -1, +1

    Typical LP length: 11ish

    Testing: Thursday

R/R: My allergies are outright livid with me right now. Stupid ragweed.

CS/Q: Got the ultrasound results (at least the app updated with the dr’s comments, I haven’t talked to anyone yet). “Right ovary has features consistent with polycistic ovaries…PCOS may be a factor”. Left was enlarged but no big masses/cysts. I’m trying not to think about it too much until after this cycle ends. DH wanted me to call right away and ask questions, but this cycle will literally be over in two days and I’d have to call for next steps anyway. Might as well wait it out. And by “wait it out” I mean incessantly Google it for the next two days. I’m surprised, tbh. I dismissed PCOS as a potential because I don’t have issues with weight or excess hair. I know those aren’t in everyone with PCOS but just playing the odds I figured endo was more likely. Ok, back to not thinking about it.

  • @pinkkillersheep I'm sorry about the ultrasound results. As someone who's been in the same boat before (i.e. had an ultrasound that told me that I have it in 2009; then when we started TTC, all of the followup testing told me "no I don't have it"), I can tell you that there are 4 PCOS phenotypes, so you can still have it, and not have any of the 'usual' symptoms. But ultrasound alone isn't enough to diagnose you with PCOS so I hope your doctor will do more investigation. You should get your A1C levels check, check your AMH (anti-Mullerian hormone), and even do a fasting glucose / insulin test. Finally, you need to get your androgens checked (testosterone, DHEA, etc.) Don't let your doctor diagnose you simply by ultrasound!

  • @jellie603 I’m sorry for the BFN! I know it can be overwhelming to reply to everyone but I do think it helps us get to know each other better by replying versus just reading through. Even if you just reply to one person a day!

@pinkkillersheep I hope time flies until you can talk about your results and that your doctor will have a great plan if you do have PCOS!
  • @acleverusername Thanks for the feedback. She definitely left room for more investigation after this cycle ends, so I’ll keep an eye out for those tests. If nothing else it’s helpful to feel like there’s a thread to start pulling on.
  • @gingermama29 I think it was just south of us as well, but from doing the whole count the seconds between flash and sound, some of them were like 1-2 miles away. So kinda close! We’re supposed to get another round tonight. Ugh.
oh yes. I knew where the frers were but also didn’t want to waste lol. I successfully didn’t test today! I talked myself out of it and dumped my pee cup multiple times!

@acleverusername thank you so much for sharing that! I am literally laughing out loud right now 🤣🤣🤣 andddd now I want to do this will all my dogs pictures!!

@pinkkillersheep I absolutely appreciate the advice!! We just got a mattress 2-3 years ago so there is no way mh would go for that again. I like our mattress and generally don’t have a problem but I’ve been in a funk with my back and it just hurts all the time lately.
I’m sorry about your US results. I hope your doctor give you a clear path going forward! I also read @acleverusername’s response and I definitely second asking for the rest of the testing!

@jellie603 I definitely understand where you are mentally. I’ve been there. I’m also so sorry about your bfn. And apple cider mimosas… yep! Those are amazing!! Take care of yourself! Put your feet up and enjoy all those mimosas! If your looking for something a little stronger…(sometimes I am)… apple cider and Caramel Whisky or Vodka is amazing!! It’s our yearly Halloween drink!

  • @jellie603 I feel the same way. It’s been really hard to just keep with life as is, that even though I read everyone’s posts I feel dumb with nothing good to say. So then I don’t post and then I’m just the weirdo that randomly joins in and then disappears. Lol

@gingermama29 I’m sorry about the BFN.

I know it’s super late but figured better to keep participating. I can’t seem to get to the convos during normal daylight hours  haha

    Month/Cycle: 2/2

    CD/DPO: 19/ 5

    Timing: -2, -1, 0 we were out of steam for +1 🤣

    Typical LP length: 13

Testing: I’m holding off as long as possible. I haven’t even opened the new box of tests and I left it downstairs so I wouldn’t be tempted just yet. Too early.

R/R: Friday would have been my mom’s birthday  she died of cancer in 2013 two months after my wedding. And I’ve been an emotional wreck.  crying over everything. My sister is coming to visit so at least we will be together for the date because it’s so hard for both of us.
