  • @gembud lol @ mixtape. Eventually we won't be able to use that as a reference!

How are you feeling?: still nauseous, a little more so today than the last few weeks, weirdly. Also feeling apprehensive as we shared the news with some family yesterday and the more people that know, the more nervous i get.

Rants/Raves: hmmm... had some pretty significant intestinal distress last night so that was no good...otherwise everything is pretty status quo.

    Questions: nope

GTKY: How did you meet your SO? we were set up! My coworker and his coworker set us up and we were both pretty apathetic after the first meeting. But we ended up hanging out a few more times and decided the other wasn't so bad after all.
  • @jessier19 we are running into the same nosy Nellies, I think. I’ve already had two people tell me, unsolicited, that they were so happy with their decision to have a VBAC. Cool. That’s really nice. I haven’t made a decision yet but their experience/opinion will factor in ZERO to that decision. One of these ladies is also someone who talked to me like I’d died or something when I had a CS after a failed induction and fetal distress. Like she kept saying, over and over, how sorry she was and how traumatic that is etc etc. I mean, yeah, it was rough, but it was the absolute right decision. Just so much drama/angst from folks when we don’t ask for input! Sorry, I’m clearly joining your rant.
  • @rachelredhead @jessier19 I'm so sorry you guys are having to deal with comments like that! I would love to give anyone who has opinions about any of my birthing experiences or choices an earful. I still don't get why when it comes to pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting, arguably the 3 most personal experiences you will ever have in your life, everyone feels like they are entitled to an opinion. I have decided that people who have such strong opinions are just unhappy with their own choices and are trying to validate them by trying to convince someone else that they were right...
  • @bananasb The recommendation here for dyclectin is to take 2 at night before you go to bed (it actually takes 8 hours to kick in which is why they say to take it at night...that way it should be working once you wake up). If you have nausea all day they say to also take 1 mid morning and 1 mid afternoon. Also, when DD2 was born I was still bedsharing with DD1, so all 3 of us were in the same room. DD1 never woke up at night if DD2 was crying etc. This time around I'm still cosleeping with DD2 (she is in her own bed, but I am sleeping on a mattress on the floor right beside her, so she could just roll down onto my bed if she wanted) and baby will be in the room with us. I'm pretty sure baby won't wake DD2 and vice versa. Once they are asleep they are pretty deeply asleep so I think whatever you are comfortable with should be fine:)
  • @Panaceia also still feeling sick. Ugh, I wish I could see into the future as to when I'll feel better so I know there's some end in sight!
@gembud yay for new haircut! I am getting one next week, and I'm so excited!

    EDD / Weeks + Days: 14+6, 3/16/22

Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: Length of a rubber ducky or size of a bagel bite!

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: TFO

Upcoming Appointments: 9/20 with OB, 9/29 with MFM

How are you feeling?: Still nauseous and fatigued. Thought I was done with those symptoms, but they are still lingering.

Rants/Raves: Both set of parents know that we are having twins! Next up is our close circle of friends when we announce at my birthday party next Sat!

    Questions: none

GTKY: How did you meet your SO? "We met at a bar!" DH hates when I say that, but it's sorta true. We have a mutual friend and that was the location of where we met. It was a semifinal football game for the SuperBowl, so lots of our friends met up to watch the game. He got my number from our mutual friend, and the rest is history. We moved in after 7 months of dating!
  • @bananasb our son will be 20 months when this baby is born. Our plan is to keep baby girl in our room until at least 6 months and then try to transition them into one room. We have a split level house (2 beds downstairs, 2 beds up) and I don’t want to move my son upstairs alone for awhile. So my hope is that they can share a room for a year or two and then move them both upstairs. But it’s all an experiment really. Our son is a great sleeper and slept through the night quickly and never had rough regressions. So until we get to know this little lady, it’s all a guessing game.
  • @gembud a mixtape is an awesome comparison!
@jessier19 @rachelredhead that's the worst!  everyone does pregnancy/delivery/parenting the "right" way and then insists the rest of us do it their "right" way too... of course that doesn't take into consideration that every person/pregnancy/child is completely different from the next, even within a family!

    EDD / Weeks + Days: 3/19  13+3 (but I'm calling it 14+1 ;) )

Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: navel orange

    FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Team Green

Upcoming Appointments: Next week, routine check

How are you feeling?: not too bad, still a lot of heartburn indigestion... looking chubby but not pregnant yet

Rants/Raves: The taste of peppermint Tums was really grossing me out so I switched to the berry flavor... much better (for now)

    Questions: natm

GTKY: How did you meet your SO?  We work at the same company; we were both involved in a leadership training program and were told to sit with someone we didn't know at lunch during the orientation.  I picked him and pretended to listen to whatever he was droning on about...  I later decided he might be cute and started to invite him to group outings in hopes of chatting.  He finally showed some interest at a mutual friend's birthday party and here we are!

  • @Patience7150 Woo hooooo!!!!! So happy for you!!!
  • @Patience7150 so glad for your good news!
  • @Patience7150 omg Yaaaayyyyyy! I am so so happy for you ♥️
  • @Panaceia glad babe sounded good at your appt! All the FX that this pregnancy will miraculously be less sickly than your others.

@morgantu totally feel you on more nerves with more people knowing. We still havent told my parents. Waiting to find out sex next week and then we’ll start letting more people know.

@jessier19 your rant is the exact reason there are so few people I have even told I’m pregnant.
  • @313Meg I’m glad you’re sticking with us!

@night_nurse I struggle a lot mentally with the pregnancy weight gain too 😞. I try to remind myself that it’s healthy and necessary, but I just can’t help but hate the way I look while I’m pregnant, I just don’t feel like myself when I look in the mirror. It doesn’t help that I carry really high. I wish I could have one of those adorable basketball bumps, you know?
  • @Patience7150 that's great news about the NIPT!

@kgg2241 I love the way you met your DH! When I was in the dating scene, my friends pushed me to do all sorts of activities (kickball, included) and meeting them everywhere they were! They told me that you'll never know if you'll meet your next husband if you're out an about.

@night_nurse Ah! I'm so jealous (and thrilled!) you have your energy back! I'm patiently waiting for mine to show up! I feel like a lump of potatoes by mid-afternoon. I also want to get back to exercising!
  • Sorry I have been MIA from the board. It’s been a rough couple weeks. Trying to catch up on the posts.

    EDD / Weeks + Days:  3/27 12+5

Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: lime

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: pink!

    Upcoming Appointments: 10/1

How are you feeling?:  starting to feel human again. My son gave me his cold so I’m battling that but there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Rants/Raves: We are super ecstatic to be having a girl. Of course it didn’t matter and healthy is all we wanted, but I cry everyday because I’m so happy to have a daughter.

    Questions: NATM

GTKY: How did you meet your SO? A bar 😬

  • @gembud they’re watching my cervix for the same reason. I was always told there was a chance I’d need a cerclage (a stitch) with pregnancy. I didn’t have this in my first because the LEEP was after that. They labeled me high risk due to it and other reasons. They said it’s rare but it is a possibility it will shorten.  Strange because they had such a hard time getting to and keeping my cervix open for all my fertility treatments, they actually put a stitch in prior to embryo transfer so they could easily access it.  They measured mine at about 8 weeks and next one will be at 20 weeks.
  • @gembud I had a LEEP in 2008ish! My OB didn't worry about it with my first but told me the scar tissue would likely prevent me from dilating until it suddenly burst.boy was she right. I went from 1 cm to 6 cm when it burst and suddenly went from no contractions to every 60 seconds. It wasn't like that with my 2nd though!
  • @Nik102 FX it never becomes an issue! I had the LEEP before DS and didn’t even know it could be an issue till now, but measured nice and long today so that’s good

@michelle_bird oh wow, I really don’t think it had any affect on me last pregnancy, but also wasn’t aware it could. I think they are only checking one more time at 30w, I won’t complain I get to see the babe two extra times this pregnancy
