We had to take DD to the ER today because she was dehydrated (either from a reaction to an antibiotic or a stomach bug. Not sure which) and not eating or drinking anything, plus super lethargic which was scary. They gave her fluids and dextrose because her blood sugar was low, but within 30 min of getting the IV she was back to her usual self. It was really hard pretending I wasn’t nauseous in front of my MIL who went with me, especially because I think there was still a little puke stuck on DD’s paci from last night 🤢 (yes, we did wash it yesterday ahha)
@b_1029 Oh no! I'm sorry to hear about your ER trip, but happy to hear that DD perked up pretty quickly once there! Do you have to check in with her pediatrician or do they think the issue is pretty much solved now?
As it happens, I was coming on here with an ER story of my own! DD fell on the playground this weekend and broke her leg, so Saturday afternoon/evening was spent in the ER. Thank God my mom and MIL have rallied and are coming out here to support us (my mom arrived today for 2 weeks) because we're obviously not sending her back to daycare until she's out of a cast, but both DH and I work full time (at least it's remote because of COVID!).
@Bababatty I’m not sure! I’m going to call tomorrow and see if they want to or not. The poor thing was so tired from the whole ordeal that we ended up putting her to bed more than an hour earlier than normal 😅 your poor daughter and her leg! Im glad your mom and MIL are able to help out until she can go back to daycare!
Here is my random going into the weekend… DH and i are going to dinner with 4 other couples and my parents are coming over to watch DD. 8 can easily avoid the wine with my mama, no issue. But I’m already stressing dinner. It will be wicked obvious when i don’t get wine and the place we are going to is essentially a wine bar with tapas. Last week i avoided all questioned by arriving early to dinner and ordering a mock tail from bar before the girls arrived and we were seated.
@And846 ugh the worst having things go past bedtime. The "not drinking" thing will be a sure tip off for my family as well. We seem them frequently, and idk if anyone is going to notice I didn't drink 2 weeks in a row. At least today I have to drive because DH is coming later, so I have the DD (designated driver for DD 😜) excuse! But I'm guessing my food aversions will spoil the party next weekend, if everything plays out the way it did with DD.
So sorry everyone's DDs were in the ER!! Such a scary experience but glad everyone is ok now.
@and846 she’s totally fine now! She was a little sleepy the day after, to be expected, but has been her happy little self and eating /drinking normally since.
