Trying to Get Pregnant

TWW Wednesday 9/8

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Re: TWW Wednesday 9/8

  • Month/Cycle: 27/1AL

    CD/DPO: 27/7

    Timing: good!

    Typical LP length: 13

    Testing: maybe this weekend

R/R: Another super crazy busy school day today. I have no breaks except my lunch again today and can’t even use after school time to catch up on the craziness because I have a meeting after school. Guess I’ll be bringing some work home tonight. Luckily my Thursdays and Fridays each have an hour break built into my schedule and I’ll hopefully be able to get caught up on things.

    CS/Q:

  • Month/Cycle: 11/10

    CD/DPO: 29/10?

    Timing: maybe O-1, O

    Typical LP length: 10-11 days

    Testing: WFAF

R/R: It's beautiful again here today! Although it might rain later. But that's okay, I get to spend a good chunk of the beautiful part of the day outside so it works. Another on-campus day, but not nearly as busy a day as Tues/Thurs for me. Today will be a day to catch up my notes and work on homework.

CS/Q: No pic today because I didn't temp. Back hurt last night and couldn't fall back asleep, so moved to the couch. It helped my back, but I forgot to bring my thermometer out with me. 🤦 If I O'd when I think I did, AF should come tomorrow or Friday, so I guess I'm waiting to test until Friday? If being sick delayed O, I don't think it was by more than a couple days, so Friday seems like a good time to test.

  • @gingermama29 oof, sounds crazy busy! glad you have some built-in time the next couple days to get stuff done at least.
  • Idk where I belong 🤦🏼‍♀️ Yesterday I stuck it out in wto but I’m just gonna move over here and call this cycle a cluster F.

    Month/Cycle: 4/3AL

    CD/DPO: cd16/ unsure- maybe 3dpo

    Timing: unsure

    Typical LP length: 10 days

    Testing: if af is late.

R/R: I’ve been ovulating cd 15 for like 8 cycles now so go figure when I’m on a medication they said not to get pregnant on, I ovulate early (maybe). And also go figure we had sex at -2 from where I think I ovulated. I finished the medication at what I think would be 1dpo. I feel like an idiot and I just have this feeling of doom. Also this medication doesn’t even seem to have helped and now I’m staring down the barrel of a likely colonoscopy. 😑 I’m in my head today and pretty emotional. I feel like ttc is just not on my side here.

CS/Q: the 9/6 temp I thought might be off because I had a few drinks the day before. I forgot to temp yesterday, today’s was about 30-45 minutes later than normal and I got up to pee 4 hours prior.

@gingermama29 does being busy at least make the days go by faster? That would be a good upside! But I hope you get to put your feet up when you get home even if you have some work to do.

@fantasyflyte yay for another nice day! It’s been pouring and thunder storming here all morning. But it basically fits my mood today so I’m not totally upset about it.

  • @gingermama29 good luck with you crazy day!

@fantasyflyte keep enjoying that good weather. Studying outside in the fresh air is the best!

@paytonpedro yeah, there's a lot of things that could have disrupted your cycle this time around. FWIW, colonoscopy isn't that bad. I had one back in Feb. The prep kind of sucks, but... at least you get to learn what's up with you. Hit me up for some prep tips if you end up needing it.

    Month/Cycle: 19/17

    CD/DPO: 31/7

    Timing: High

Typical LP length: probably gonna be about 9 days at most. Took Proov test today (7DPO), and there was definitely a visible line there indicating my progesterone is low. Oh well, I was hoping the functional medicine work I've been doing would help with levels, but it probably takes longer. The sooner AF comes, the sooner I start stims.

Testing: will save a test, me thinks

R/R: This week is so busy; lots of deadlines at work, and it's a short week on top of everything else. Blergh. I'm still recovering from my vacation and post-vacation delights, so my tummy is still "off". But I'm back on the strict modified-AIP diet so that I can do more food reintroductions. I'm also talking to my functional medicine doctor about doing food sensitivity testing instead of reintroductions because with all the IVF meds, it's impossible to observe food-related effects giving all the medication side effects. I have a chat lined up with her on Friday, so I'll see what she says.

    CS/Q: Nope

  • @acleverusername yeah I went through it with my husband when he had one, the worst part was how loopy he was after haha. I just don’t have time for it and want to feel better but maybe seeing that nothing is actually wrong (hopefully) will be what makes me feel better. I’m definitely going to hit you up if/when the time comes!!
hear you on an off belly after vacation.  I hope your doctor can help you with the testing you want vs reintroduction. What does your diet entail? I’m currently exploring a low fodmap diet as it seems like the next step to me. But my doctors are all useless so really I’m in the dark until my recheck in 2 months. 🙄 I hope your doctors are more helpful than mine haha.

  • @gingermama29 I’m glad your schedule has a couple days with some time built in, but man 1 hour is not that much!
@fantasyflyte Two days of nice weather in a row! The weather is holding up pretty nicely too but I can’t seem to squeeze any outdoor time into my day 😣
@paytonpedro I’m sorry this cycle isn’t going your way. You sound like you could really use a hug! I have no idea how to use gifs because I’m an old, so just imagine there’s a hug gif here lol.
@acleverusername Food sensitivities are so tough. It seems like there’s still so much we don’t know about gut health, but I’m glad it sounds like you have support in working through it. My family members who have gone that route had the hardest time finding people who took it seriously.

    Month/Cycle: 5/4

    CD/DPO: 24/4

    Timing: “good”

    Typical LP length: 11ish

    Testing: 12DPO

R/R: I feel like my dogs know I didn’t list them in my ten (actually eight) things because they were both a nightmare last night. Between freaking out over a 4 AM thunderstorm and demanding breakfast two hours early, I slept terribly. Still managed to pull off a decent day at work.

    CS/Q: nope

  • @pinkkillersheep poor doggies in the thunderstorm! Do they always react this way? Do you have a sedative you can give to them?

  • @pinkkillersheep thank you so much for your kind words ❤️ Here’s the hug gif for both of us! I’m sorry you slept so poorly and I hope this past night was better!

  • @acleverusername Unfortunately yes, this is pretty standard for one of them (our old black lab). She just completely panics, it’s heartbreaking. Her preferred coping method is to go in the bathroom and close the door, but then she panics even worse and claws her way through the door and/or wall (we do not prefer this coping method). We have a prescription sedative from the vet but even at a partial dosage it knocks her out so bad we get scared she isn’t breathing so we avoid it unless the storm is going to go on for an extended period of time.
  • @pinkkillersheep have you tried just Benadryl? There also also a handful of options so if one is t working you could definitely ask your vet for another.
