R/R: My hope of feeling confident in O date got thwarted, but I’m going to go ahead and switch over to TWW anyway. Got called at 1:15 AM to go check on things at work because of an employee concern. It all turned out ok but nonetheless means I didn’t get back to sleep until 4 and woke up at 7:30. Decided to temp then anyway because I know it’ll go up the rest of the morning regardless and invalidate a later test. So who knows. I’m still going to assume an O date of CD20 based on my opks.

CS/Q: After three long months I finally have an OBGYN appointment tomorrow to hopefully get some feedback on irregular cycles! I’m paranoid that I won’t be taken seriously because I think the only thing they’ll hear is we’ve been TTC since May. If statistically speaking I only have 10 seconds of the doctor’s attention then I want to make sure I use that 10 seconds wisely. Any advice on what would be important to discuss based on the following (I’ll spoiler it since it’s a little lengthy)? Or do I just lay it all out there and see what they say?

Cycles varying in length from 19-41 days (I have data for about 40 cycles over the last 4 years to show this)

Difficult periods with most symptoms lining up with endo, plus an immediate family history of endo

Family history of autoimmune and inflammation type disorders

CBAD tests showing an early estrogen surge that doesn’t line up with O, plus multiple small LH surges with no peaks

R/R: got to see some friends this morning that I hadnt seen in a while and it was lovely!

CS/Q: What's your MO when it comes to HPT? Do you go for dollar store tests or spend the big bucks for FRER (or do you go in between and use the generic brand)?

Not posting today but wanted to address @pinkkillersheep: girl… you laid it out pretty well about what you need to ask your doc. I wouldn’t mention the CBAD estrogen thing… it (CBAD) is not meant as a diagnostic for anything so it’s not a good idea to read into mismatches between readings and O. And especially given 10 sec of your doctor’s attention, I would focus on endo, autoimmune conditions, and questions around confirmation of ovulation. You should try and get day 3 hormone panel as well as a “day 21” progesterone test (taken 7 DPO, not necessarily CD 21). You should ask for a CBC and a full thyroid panel at the minimum. Boy… there’s just so much to unpack there. Endo can’t be confirmed without more invasive testing (ultrasound, hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, etc) and I don’t know how your doc will feel about that at this point in time. Anyway, good luck and let us know how it all goes.
