1st Trimester

Symptoms decreasing at 9 weeks

Hello everyone,

I’m 9 weeks and 5 days and my symptoms have decreased significantly this week.

they were mild to begin with, but I’m feeling so much better now.

Has anyone experienced something like this? I’m worried that a lack of symptoms could mean a miscarriage.

thanks!

Re: Symptoms decreasing at 9 weeks

  • Symptoms come and go. Symptoms or lack of symptoms mean nothing in pregnancy.  Be thankful you do not have severe symptoms :)

Guess what my symptoms were: missed period, and my 1st migraine ever in 2nd tri.  That was it.

  • Symptoms or lack thereof, do not indicate the health of the pregnancy. Around 8/9 weeks, the placenta starts to take over so the hormones that cause all those pesky pregnancy symptoms start to decrease which can mean your symptoms can decrease a little too.

But exactly what harpseal said, symptoms can come and go, and seriously be glad you don’t have severe symptoms. I threw up and couldn’t eat until the 3rd tri with my second and it was not fun at all. It’s so great that you’re feeling great!
  • Not to scare you...but I was pregnant with my first back in March. My pregnancy symptoms were pretty mild. Constipation, sour stomach and heartburn mostly. I went in for my first appt @ 9 weeks. Saw my baby, heard the heartbeat and everything. The next week my sysmptoms started to decrease and then disappeared almost completely. From what I was reading it was supposed to be normal. Worried me though. A lot. I asked my husband a few times "what if something's wrong?"I went to my next appt @ 13 weeks. No heartbeat. My baby measured at 11 weeks. I had a missed miscarriage. I asked my DR If that was why I was "feeling better". She shook her head yes. That's just my experience with "disappearing symptoms". Hope everything is ok with you and that's just what they are and nothing more.
  • I had the same experience as a post above. The only symptom I had at first was sore breasts and aversion to chicken. Then it was all gone and I thought it was okay because I did not have any bleeding or pain. When I went for an ultrasound at 10 week , there was no heartbeat and the baby was measuring only at 7 weeks. I had a miscarriage and my body failed to warn me about it. I was feeling  great and would never know I miscarried if I did not go to the ultrasound. But that is not always true, your lack of symptoms could be nothing to worry about. Every pregnancy is different.
  • My symptoms were pretty mild as far as they go - breast tenderness, queasiness/food aversions (but never vomiting) and fatigue. They started to wane around week 10.
