Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 5/4 - 4w5d (per Dr. Google based on my FET date)
FTM/STM/TTM+: STM
Upcoming Appointments: Seeing my RE next Wednesday to check the gestational sac; my first OB appointment is 9/29.
How are you feeling?: I got my second beta back today and my numbers were outstanding (more than doubling every 48 hours), so I feel more comfortable now. Otherwise, very tired and slightly crampy.
Rants/Raves: DD has decided to start skipping naps. She only just turned 2; I am not here for this. But a rave is, since she's home from daycare on an end of summer hiatus, for my Mommy Daycare turn this morning, we explored a new playground. Lots of toddler-sized equipment and a nice sandbox, which she loved. I love new experiences with her.
Questions: None
GTKY: what’s your favorite holiday? Christmas -- it's the only holiday I decorate for (possibly I'll start decorating for Halloween this year). I love the entire Christmas season and I love it more now that we have a child and she gets to experience it.
@Bababatty do much yes to an outstanding second beta! I know that feeling of relief
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 5/1 / 5w1d according to lmp and Dr Google
FTM/STM/TTM+: STM
Upcoming Appointments: 9/13 with RE. My OB booked me for 9/10 but i think I’m going to swap that for a week or 20th appt.
How are you feeling?: tired. Then not tired. Then tired again.
Rants/Raves: DD is starting to stay up late and i think it’s time to drop the nap but i can’t control that since they nap at school. She also has another daycare drip (cough, runny nose…) so that is super exciting.
Questions: none
GTKY: what’s your favorite holiday? I always love thanksgiving since it’s such a no pressure event and filled with family and fun but have since evolved to Christmas since I’ve now seen Christmas through a child’s eyes.
How are you feeling?: crampy, bloat seems to be a little less, tired.
Rants/Raves: I hurt my shoulder two weeks ago and not being able to take anything sucks tbh. It’s getting better, but not as fast as I’d like. And I’d really like to exercise but I know I need to take it easy for it to get better faster.
Questions: nada
GTKY: what’s your favorite holiday? Thanksgiving! The food, no need for gifts, the weather is usually lovely.
@bababatty my daughter is 20 months and I’m terrified of her dropping naps @and846 we made it all winter without sniffles, but July and August have kicked our asses in the snot and cough dept. Her preschool had RSV run through and then she got croup.
@anniemarie887 you hit the nail on the head with July and August kicking ass for daycare colds. We’ve been battling the same stupid cold since July. Goes away and come back. We currently just pulled an all nighter with a fever and cough. DD is finally sleeping and I’m drinking my one measly cup of coffee (hard, i normally drink 2 or 3).
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 5/7 4w3d based on lmp and dr google
FTM/STM/TTM+: Ttm that is WILD
Upcoming Appointments: had to find a new OB and I’m bummed but my appointment is 10/5
How are you feeling?:SUPER bloated, nauseous, so so tired.
Rants/Raves: rant: my husband is a twin, twins run in both of our families. Do people not understand it’s not cool to say oh I hope it’s twins. Rude mind your uterus. We told our moms today because it’s mom lol and both of them said it. It’s just rude.
Questions: none
GTKY: what’s your favorite holiday? Christmas Eve. That excitement and anticipation gets me every time especially with my 2 other kids I love it.
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: May 1st, 5 wks 2 days (according to Google and assumed date of conception)
FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM (still feels wild to think!)
Upcoming Appointments: 1st PCP appointment on 9/7 and then I need to find a new OB practice
How are you feeling?: Emotionally, excited and nervous, it still feels very surreal still! Physically, some mild intermittent cramping and breast soreness.
Rants/Raves: I knew about most of the pregnancy food no-no’s but I’m pretty bummed out about the veto on almost all herbal teas. I almost drank a hibiscus tea mocktail on Saturday before I randomly googled. Yikes.
Questions: I’m wondering if I’ll be able to get an ultrasound at my PCP or if I’ll have to wait until I find an OB.
GTKY: what’s your favorite holiday? Thanksgiving- all the family and food, way less stress than Christmas!
@And846@anniemarie887 Uggghhhh I feel you on the daycare colds! DD had back to back colds for the entirety of August. She just finally got over a nasty-sounding cough (which doesn't make you at all self-conscious during COVID ). @And846 I hope DD feels better!
@itsagalsworls1024 Sorry you had to find a new OB! It sounds like you liked your old one, so that sucks. I hope you like your new one!
@kellyt89 I've completely forgotten all the food no-nos... must look them up again. But don't kick yourself too much about a slip-up. I'm not sure that your PCP can do an ultrasound; if you're banking on it, I'd definitely call ahead just to confirm. To answer your other question from the Intros, in my experience all of my u/s in early pregnancy previously were "the wand" (transvaginal). But Dr. Google tells me you can have an abdominal u/s instead, it just may not be as accurate when everything is so small. I know you said you have some anxiety around internal exams, so definitely bring that up as an option.
Upcoming Appointments: Waiting to hear back from the nurse to schedule.
How are you feeling?: Excited and tired. Husband left for 2 weeks, so I'm a little intimated at the idea of early pregnancy fatigue while chasing 2 kids under 3 by nyself 😅
Rants/Raves:
Questions:
GTKY: what’s your favorite holiday? Halloween & Christmas! Halloween was always big deal in my family as a kid. I love the overall feel of Christmas, and the generosity/kindness during that time of year.
@Bababatty I did like them they delivered my son and were amazing - plus side the new OB is part of a larger hospital and they have a NICU in case this one is anything like my daughter with her first night pranks it will be much better having one in the hospital.
@kellyt89 ah! I forgot about tea and I’ve had 3 cups in the last week or so. Raspberry coffee free and i did a quick search on Dr Google after i saw your post…apparently okay after 1st trimester. Darn, now i need a new nightly drink now that wine and my tea are out of the picture.
@itsagalsworls1024 that’s great that the new OB is part of a large hospital and has a nicu. Having it all under one roof was important to me when i was looking for OBs when i first moved to my city even before kids.
@abmom21 im with you on the traveling husband. He just did one trip and gearing up for another one soon. Do you do any prep before hubs travels to help make it a smooth week?
@kellyt89 i am not a tea drinker, so no advice on those. but the internet is full of super scary don't do this stuff. i recommend reading Expecting Better by Emily Oster. a lot of things like cheese, deli meat is just outdated and unsubstantiated advice - my OB also agrees. not to pry to much to where you live, are you in a smaller/rural area? you shouldn't have to get a confirmation at your PCP, you can just go right to the OB. my PCP doesn't have u/s equipment, but if they refer you out to say and Advanced Imaging they would have a tv u/s. my practice will try for an abdominal, but if they have issues getting images will to tv at both the 8 week and 20 week (i know from experience with my first!)
@anniemarie887 I did read Expecting Better last year and really enjoyed it! I liked Cribsheet as well. I hope I’ll feel a little more chill after the 1st trimester, I’m definitely worried that any little thing will cause an issue, ugh. Thanks for that reassurance though, there really are a zillion scary articles all over that don’t all seem reliable.
I’m going to my PCP first because I don’t actually have an OB right now - I get all my gynecological stuff done through this office, mostly with an NP. I have one recommendation of a possible OB office but am hoping to get some more recommendations from my doctor.
@And846 Not really. We talked a lot with our 2 year old this week, and her & I are going to make a countdown chain so she can see when Dad gets home. My husband works 7/12s on a week on/week off schedule, so the girls and I are used to hanging out a lot together. So far, it feels pretty normal, but we'll see how it goes around week 2 of him being gone. How long will your husband be gone for?
@kellyt89 and @anniemarie887 those are great options! I may add that to my ever growing book list. Last time i read the Mayo Clinic guide to healthy Pregnancy. I went to Barnes and Noble and sat there for a good hour trying to find the best book for me.
@abmom21 i love the idea of a countdown of sorts! I’ll have to make a little one for us! He will only be gone a week this time but said that the frequency of trips may increase for a little while.
How are you feeling?: The timing of this pregnancy is a little wild for me because I’ve never conceived the first cycle after a loss before
Rants/Raves: Just trying to get back into the habit of being accountable for my caffeine intake :s Usually I end up not tolerating the taste of coffee during pregnancy so I’d be fine to have a soda in the afternoon but so far the hasn’t struck me yet so I have to consciously choose one or the other
Questions:
GTKY: what’s your favorite holiday? Holidays are hard for me due to some family dynamics so I’m going to go with my birthday because I don’t have to worry about anything except enjoying myself
