Trying to Get Pregnant

WTO Monday 8/30

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. @bows22 crossing everything for you that you get good news for next steps and your biopsy goes well on Wednesday!

    Month/Cycle: 27/1 AL

    CD: 18

    WAYDTGKU: Clomid & TI

R/R: Somehow it is already the last week of summer break. We have an in-service day on Wednesday this week and then school starts right after Labor Day. I’m so not mentally ready yet. It doesn’t help that COVID guidance keeps changing so there’s not a clear picture of what it will look like yet (e.g. 3 feet of spacing or 6, mandatory testing or vaccinations, etc). I at least know that we’ll be fully masked which I’m relieved about. I’ve been into my classroom a few times but am kind of stuck right now, unable to do much more set up until I have more answers for what our COVID guidance is.

    CS/Q:

  • @gingermama29 enjoy your last week off-ish! I hope the guidance finalizes soon so you can start on your classroom. And that’s great that your district is requiring masks! It’s mixed around here still.
  • @bows22 crossing everything and sending good vides for your biopsy!

@gingermama29 ugh I hope you can set your classroom up soon, that must be so nerve wracking!

    Month/Cycle: 1/2

    CD: 15

WAYDTGKU: charting, temping, CM, OPKs, HIO often, prenatals.

R/R: Still in a funk and can't pull myself out of it. There have been some other things added to this over the last few days - I'll leave it at that because I don't feel like making a spoiler hah

I am continuing to rave to anyone who will listen about my Ninja Coffee Bar 😂. I invested in it about 2 months ago since I started my new job from home in January. I love a strong, excellent brewed coffee so I needed to ditch my K-cups. This thing makes hot, iced, or cold brew and you can decide if you want a classic brew, rich brew etc. etc. You can also do all of those things with tea, but I am not a tea drinker. THE BEST part is that it has a milk frother. I've been making my own maple cold foam with homemade VT maple syrup and I. Can't. Stop!

CS/Q: I'm still trying to figure out the best way to nail down O. I find it strange that last cycle was our first TTC and AF was 3 days early and heavy, not normal for me at all. Which leads me to believe O was earlier, but who know. Examining CM, temps, and OPKs is like waiting for all the stars to align and I'm not patient enough for that haha.

  • @jellie603 that coffee bar sounds amazing! Especially the milk frother. Yes please!

@paytonpedro yup we are in the same area. We did have guidance released a couple weeks ago that indicated masks would be recommended but not required as long as numbers stayed low and then the new governor (thankfully) issued a mask mandate. I teach Pre-K-6th grade music! Your potatoes look great!! What will you end up camping with all those potatoes? We have so many cherry tomatoes from my garden this year!
  • @gingermama29 that must be such a fun job to have!! And it’s so awesome that they still have music in school despite everything! It is so needed!!
     Haha. Yes THANKFULLY!
I’m jealous that your tomatoes did good! Mine suck! Lol. I did get 2 hornworms early on that basically destroyed my most promising plant though. I have more tomato plants in my big garden but every time I go out there they’re all still green. My dad did pick me 8-10 off the one plant so far but it’s looking like we’ll be making some fried green tomatoes this year. Lol as for the potatoes, we store them and use them throughout the winter. As long as they’re in a cool, dry, dark place, they can last until spring. Although my luck gets me right through the new year before they start getting funky lol. My favorite way to eat them is cut in half and then placed on foil that has butter, salt, pepper, and garlic powder on the open side- and then baked or grilled. But I do use them for homemade corn beef pretty frequently as well.
  • Decided to hang out in the dailies this cycle so that I can catch up with you all and get to know some of the newer members!

@bows22 I haven’t been great about reading all the updates for the past few weeks but was eagerly awaiting your update on the biopsy. Good luck! Will be thinking about you.

@gingermama29 I’ve always wondered about the different times that schools in the US start. In Canada, everyone always started right after Labor Day and went through until end of June. But here in the US I noticed it varies quite a bit!

@jellie603 your coffee machine sounds out of this world! I’m glad you’re enjoying. It’s funny how little (or big) gadgets can improve quality of life so much. MH and I have made a number of small purchases during the pandemic that have really positively affected our lives. For example the vacuum sealer.

@paytonpedro WOW! You SHOULD be proud of yourself. Now the question is: do you have a root cellar where you can keep these? This photo is a real throwback to my childhood where my grandparent used to farm a lot in their big lots and we’d all be responsible for picking the produce when it’s ready.

Month/Cycle: 19/17 (I think this is accurate? I excluded all my IVF and IVF prep cycles.)

    CD: 22 😒

WAYDTGKU: DTD + Opks + about 2 dozen supplements and vitamins for me; about ~10 for MH

R/R: O, oh O, where art thou? It’s CD 22 and while I expected O to be delayed because of stims last cycle, I would have thought that I’d get at least LH surge by now. Then again, because of travel and jet lag, things can change. And I also had a wicked stomach bug last week so that too probably impacted my cycle. Anyway, DTD is the last thing I was thinking about last week so I’m a way I’m happy.

I had a lovely weekend, mostly trying to recuperate from my stomach bug. I slept A LOT. But also did some productive stuff like installing our AC (heat wave is coming to SF!) and also went on a bunch of rides with hubby and dog with the top down. Now ready for a very busy week at work! At least that’s what I’m telling myself. Hehe.

    CS/Q: Nope.

  • @acleverusername so glad to see you in the dailies! I do not, but my back room (think mud room) stays cool and keeps them pretty well!
I’m hoping o comes soon for you, but yes, ovulating with a stomach bug wouldn’t be very fun at all! So glad you’re feeling better and got the sleep you needed! Rides with the top down? Sounds like y’all got a snazzy car?! So nice that your weekend was a good one!
  • @bows22 fingers crossed the biopsy is good and you can get off the bench!

@gingermama29 ugh, I hope they give you more solid guidance soon, that sounds frustrating.

@jellie603 I'm sorry about your funk. I hope things clear up for you soon. For what it's worth, doing a combination of cm, OPKs, and temps helps me because it's "hard" data I can use to pretty accurately pinpoint O. For me, I usually see fertile CM first, so I have a heads up FW is approaching. Then my opks start to get darker, and when I get the darkest (for me) I know my temp should spike in a day or two.

@paytonpedro your potatoes sound like my sister's tomatoes! She planted almost 20 plants because she expected some of them to die but none did lol. (btw since I know you were asking, I posted pics of my cake and cupcakes in the weekend WTO thread)

@acleverusername glad you're feeling better, and I hope O is soon for you.

    Month/Cycle: 10/10

    CD: 20

WAYDTGKU: bbt, cm, opks, cinnamon, metformin for me, vit e and c for him

R/R: Ugh, I feel like crap today. I think something I ate at the party yesterday screwed with my stomach and I'm still feeling it. Blugh. At least the only thing I have planned other than homework today is to hang out with my sister. If I even can because I might actually be getting a fever.

CS/Q: got a big temp spike this morning, I think I probably ovulated yesterday based on my cm, but I couldn't take an OPK all weekend until last night (was only 0.3, but that tends to be as dark as mine get which is why I marked it positive) and then I woke up multiple times overnight due to my stomach, so that could have affected my temp too. Fun times! At worst, I'd think O would be today which would still make our timing fine.

  • @fantasyflyte thanks I missed that!!!! Absolutely beautiful cake and cupcakes!! And congrats to you and your sister!! That’s so funny about those tomatoes!! She’s probably just giving them away at this point!! My dad only planted like 4 plants and he’s picking a bushel a week!
I hope it’s just something you ate and you’re not getting sick! There’s a bunch of stuff going around by me now that people have actually been seeing each other again. We’ve been sick twice (well my house, not me) this month alone. Belly problems came with this last one it seems. I hope you’re feeling better today!
  • @fantasyflyte looks like we're both in the "stomach troubles" club. I hope your resolve quickly; and hopefully it's nothing more than bad piece of food. 🤞🏻for your timing.

  • @paytonpedro @acleverusername apparently lactose intolerance can cause low grade fever and aches?! Which my mom just told me. I'm annoyed because this is totally derailing my plans for today but I'm not risking getting my sister sick or having...issues...while out shopping. And this mornings temp got thrown out because I had to mark that I had a low grade fever. 🙃 my sister and I might just zoom later and pick out fabric virtually since i wamt to buy it before the sale ends Wednesday.
  • this is my problem with the dailies, I can’t always make it back during the day!

@jellie603 i have the ninja coffee bar too and LOVE it. We bought it at the beginning of the pandemic once the “daily outing to the Starbucks drive thru” got old haha.

@paytonpedro too many potatoes sounds like an amazing situation to be in!

@acleverusername I’m glad your body decided to cooperate and not ovulate while you had a stomach bug! I’ve been slacking on posting in the IF thread but have been reading, I may jump in this week

@fantasyflyte oh no! I hope you’re feeling better soon.

  • So many people in the dailies today!
@bows22 hoping for good news for you, we’ll be thinking of you on Wednesday!
@gingermama29 I feel for you and all the teachers on the board. It’s gotta be so tough trying to Pearce through constantly changing guidance. Glad for you that your school is masking.
@jellie603 sorry you’re not feeling great. This coffee bar sounds almost as amazing as homemade maple cold foam! As for the confusion of all the fertility things, I promise it gets easier over time. Just keep at it!
@paytonpedro omgosh those potatoes! I’m so jealous!
@acleverusername sounds like a wonderful re-energizing weekend :) good luck with your busy week!
@fantasyflyte sorry for the stomachache, zoom sister chat for picking fabrics sounds fun. What are you making? I’ve been meaning to start a project.

    Month/Cycle: 4/4

    CD: 15

WAYDTGKU: bbt, opk, cm, dabbling with cp

R/R: Still keeping my spirits up. My rant for the day is work. We had to move into an office trailer because ours is being torn down and the new one isn’t built yet. It is…not great. There’s only five of us so it’s not too crowded, but crowded enough that we have to stay masked now. The AC unit is right above my desk and kicks on every ten minutes or so and it is LOUD. The trailer is not totally water proof. Just not the best. We’ll get used to it, but it’ll be awkward for awhile.

    CS/Q: newp

  • @bows22 fx for good news from the biopsy  uncertainty is emotionally exhausting

@gingermama29 were you doing virtual this past school year? Glad to hear your district is taking safety measures seriously

@jellie603 that coffee maker sounds incredible! And cold brew too! Wow. Sometimes it’s these small things

@paytonpedro whatcha gonna do with all ‘em potatoes? Yum.

@acleverusername @fantasyflyte hope you both start feeling better soon! I’m dreading how this fall things are going to start going around with schools back in person and people seeing each other more and more. Take care!

@fantasyflyte we have 5 tomato plants, and while on vacation these past two weeks my neighbor keeps sending me pics of all the tomatoes she’s enjoying from taking care of our garden while we’re away. Yum. Before we left I was making homemade pasta sauce and made chicken parm.

    Month/Cycle: 1/2

    CD: 2

WAYDTGKU: waiting for AF to go away

R/R: ever since I stopped hormonal bc, I’ve gotten to know how my cycle truly is. It’s been a few years now so I feel more confident that I know what to expect. Every month, with AF there’s one day when it all stops. Maybe a tiny bit of spotting. It used to fool me because the next day BAM it’s back with a vengeance, haha. But she can’t fool me anymore! Thankfully that day was today when we’ve been driving back home from vacation for 10hrs. AF being so sneaky. 😆

CS/Q: not chart related, but as a newbie I wanted clarification on the rules. Do we need a TW when mentioning previous pregnancies or children we have? I googled how to add a spoiler here on the app, but was confused about needing TW at the top of our comment.

      Anniversary

  • @acleverusername boo for late O but I’m glad you didn’t have to try and HIO with a stomach bug.

@fantasyflyte I hope you feel better!

@pinkkillersheep ooof that sounds uncomfortable, though I’m glad you have AC. Hopefully it won’t be too long that you’re stuck in there.

@hgsurvivor no, we did 5 days a week in person last school year. I was amazed that we never shut down or had to go fully virtual during the year. Haha glad you’re on to AF’s sneaky ways.

  • @pinkkillersheep your work situation sounds sub-optimal at best. How long do you have to put up with that?

@hgsurvivor the rule of thumb for TW is use them sparingly and only if it's absolutely critical to the discussion. Otherwise, discuss at will without TW in the weekly TFAS thread. There are some folks on here that you wouldn't know have LC cause they're never mentioned in dailies or randoms or etc. Hope this helps!
