Re: TTTC Check-In July 2021
Since a few of us have been around and about the last little bit, let's chat...
I feel like I've been through a bit of the wringer these past few years... anything you've been particularly struggling with? Something maybe I can help with?
I'm in total wait mode. With COVID last year and our first IVF retrieval at the end of 2019 not coming through with any transferrable embryos we more or less took a huge step back.
I did seek out a specialist following a hunch (and some significant abdominal pain following all the fertility treatments) and discovered that I have endometriosis and (this is brand new news this week) adenomyosis which were both visible in the advanced ultrasound they did at the hospital with the surgeon. So I'm now waiting on excision laparoscopy surgery for the endo... I actually don't even know what if anything they can do for the adenomyosis.
We just had a consult with a new fertility clinic to see what they thought of our 2019 results and if there's any point to another round (which we would have to fully fund out of pocket). Sounds like yes, IVF. And the endo/adeno diagnosis would alter the medication protocols they would use so maybe we would see some better results.
QOTW: Summer for us looks kind of boring. We are going to bum a week at my sister in law's cottage. We might camp for a weekend at my in laws too. Still trying to social distance here in Ontario. We are booked for 2nd vaccines later this month which hopefully will mean some more social plans late summer or fall depending on how the whole pandemic goes. We recently rescued an 8 month old pup, so he and our current 5 year old female are still getting acquainted and I'm doing some training with him on what rules are all about haha. He's been a nice bright spot to our summer!
^^ pic of the dogs! 🥰
Dx: PCOS, Rx: IVF
I'm 39yo (almost 40) and I would like to become a single mum by choice. I am talking with clinics atm in order to start specific tests and treatments soon!
I've given myself a timeline. Read, research, find out everything I can by end of July and August should be a month of action. Generally I am a perfectionist but this keeps mostly in the planning stage and I keep postponing the action stage. And since I don't I have a partner in crime, I thought by anouncing my deadline to you will make me keep it
hithertorue The pups are amazing! So damn cute! More photos please Good luck with the new clinic! Keep us posted! Your summer plans sound amazing to me! Quality famility time in the nature!
If you don't mind my asking, have you shared with any family or friends yet or are you flying solo for the moment?
