Not quite a WTF, but my state is mandating masks for 2-year-olds at daycare. I’m not against this at all; hearts are in the right place. I just cannot imagine this actually working. In my mind, the toddlers are swapping masks, wearing them as hats, and getting them covered in mud. DD age 2 goes back to school after her summer break next week, and my heart will be filled with gratitude and pity for her brave teachers.
@loveanddatadriven this was the case here in CA - especially in the bay area - and a few other parts of the country last spring/summer/fall (my daughter is June 2018 so all the kids in her bmb turned 2 in June of 2020), and they were all great about masks. Modeling, putting them on stuffed animals, teachers wearing them, etc, all helps. But seriously it's just like shoes - kids are iffy on it at first but can definitely catch on by 2yo no problem.
Ok I’ll play. WTF, why did I get 3 different answers from 3 different medical professionals about the guidelines for fully vaccinated parents of COVID+ kids???!!! My daughter tested positive Monday from a daycare exposure (no mask mandate in daycares in MA at the moment) and I just want to be safe and conscientious and not spread anything in my community, but the pediatrician, our primary care, and the contact tracing nurse all told me different things about testing, masking, and isolation… And none of their recommendations matched with current CDC guidelines!
I am fully isolating with both kids now, just frustrated that the information was so inconsistent!
I realized they scheduled me for my ultrasound next week at the location in the farthest end of our county. So instead of driving 25 min to, it's going to take like 90 min with traffic - each way. DH is going to lose his shit about being away from his computer that long, but oh well. The only bright side is the better Whole Foods is in that town, and they have a ton of stuff I can't get at the one closer to us (like this better white balsamic vinegar and some random vegan brands), so I can at least schedule a grocery pickup for afterward. And maybe we can get sandwiches from this really good sandwich place...... hmmm lol maybe I'm happy about this after all.
WTF to the ultrasound clinic who insisted that 7+4 by LMP was okay for the dating ultrasound when I was very clear that my cycles were still irregular from being postpartum, and then the tech bitched that my dates were off and the baby was small. But their policy was to not tell the new EDD, so I have to wait for my midwife to get the report and decide if I have to redo the scan.
The local clinic that does the remote monitoring ultrasounds and bloodwork for my RE (2.5hrs away) told me today after they got the order from the RE for my 6wk viability scan that it's their policy to not do them until 7-8 wks and the RE office should know better. And they wouldn't schedule me for the later scan since the order was for 6wks, so I need to ask the RE for a new order. WTF, Why would you agree to do the remote monitoring for an RE if you aren't willing to follow their protocol/orders?? That office has been a thorn in my side through this whole process. I've reached out to my old midwife/OB practice (who I'll be going back to anyway after I'm released from the RE) to see if they'll do it since my previous RE used to work out of their office. Otherwise I'll be driving 2.5 hrs each way for my US, so @doxiemoxie212 I feel your pain! @maggiemadeit Hoping you and the family get through your bout of Covid safely with minimal sickness. I had a good friend who was vaccinated bring it home to both her littles. They all just wound up with mild flu like illness but scary we're getting more breakthrough cases with delta. And @loveanddatadriven I agree! I applaud those of you who can keep a mask on your toddler for more than 2 min, but I've yet to find a way! Luckily my very willful 2.5yo has not had to be anywhere where it's been a major issue yet...
My WTF is that they are still working on the sewers on our road which means I cant park the van in front of our house. I need to go to the laundromat but there's no way I'm dragging three overflowing hampers to where I had to park 2 blocks away....
@Blondesweety444 nah there was a big open trench down the middle of the road. I had to wait until today when they were done. But they were supposed to be done last Monday....
