Infertility Check In

After reading all the intros it seems like there are a lot of infertility moms. Which I love!

I’m not sure if y’all are interested in doing an IF check in, but I thought I’d post and see what y’all think.

Tell me about your journey?

  • @FishyMom What a long (and I’m sure heartbreaking) journey you’ve been on. That’s so great that you got to use all the embryos though!
  • @fishymom we will have 3 embryos left, all PGS tested
  • Hey! My background -

got married in 2010 and started ttc right away. After 13 months of ttc we were blessed with ds1- he was born in May 2012. Shortly after he was born we started ttc - after a a year off ttc on our own we moved to fertility treatments. I was diagnosed with pcos and didn’t ovulate on my own most of them time. We did 1 year of timed intercourse with medicated cycles at the clinic. Needed a break and decided to take some time off fertility treatments. 3 months into our break I found out I was pregnant with ds2- he was born December 2015 after almost 2.5 years of ttc total.

Shortly after ds2 was born I was diagnosed with Wegeners granulomatosis an auto immune disease in the Vasculitis family that is most similar to lupus. It. Early killed me and I was medicated with biologics and heavy dose steroids for almost 5 years. Once I was stable for a while we decided to start ttc #3. We tried for about a year on our own again but as my husband is 10 years older then me (he will be 45 in feb) we didn’t want to wait too long to get pregnant. After about a year ttc we decided to move straight to ivf since ovulation induction never worked even after a year of trying it last time. I did my egg retrieval May of this year was lucky enough to get a good number of frozen embryos (18 total frozen day 5 embryos) but had to take a full month off inbetween because I developed ohss. Had my first FET on August 2nd and transferred  an untested 5AB embryo and got my first faint positive on August 6th. Had my first beta yesterday at 9dp5dt and it was 420. Second beta is tomorrow 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 Praying for a good doubling time.
  • This is the only group who would understand… but I decided to take a shower, I take off my bra where I had been warming my pio and crash… I broke a brand new vial of pio on my bathroom floor. Thank goodness I have more… but I had just gotten that vial on Friday. Now I’m going to have to call and see if I can get another one before the time frame.

  • @FishyMom oh no! were you able to talk to the pharmacy/RE about another vial? (side note, why have I never thought to warm the PIO first?!?!?)

  • Oh no!! Were they able to get you another vial? And @Avrilmai - warming the PIO helps a ton. Goes in much easier, and still sore afterwards but not as bad.
  • Hi! The first time I tried to send this it didn't post, so I'll try again!
We started TTC before our first son back in 2016. After a little less than two years we went to the RE and diagnosed with unexplained IF but my fertility numbers looked good back then. We started with a few medicated cycles, then IUI. Our second IUI attempt resulted in our first son born in Nov 2018.
In early 2020 we were surprised to get pregnant naturally, but had a MMC at 9wks after seeing a good HB on US at 7wks.
After 6 months of TTC we went back to an RE and my numbers were significantly worse. Tried a few medicated cycles and 4 IUI with no success, so started IVF. 1st round with an antagonist protocol only resulted in 6 eggs and 1 blast (PGS normal). FET was unsuccessful. 2nd round with lupron flare gave us 10 eggs, but only 7 mature, and 5 (!) made it to blast. 4 were PGS normal. The first FET with this batch (grade 5AA male) stuck, and here we are! Just had my second beta today and it tripled from the first on Monday, so fingers crossed. First ultrasound on 9/3. First tested at home a week ago and got a faint positive at 5dpt, and I've been a basket case since.
  • @laurazainab How did your second beta go?
  • It went great! First beta was at 10dp5dt and was 420, second at 12dp5dt was 900. So it doubled nicely :) ultrasound is next Friday and I’ll be 6w2d and I am terrified. Praying it goes well.
  • @laurazainab Good to hear! Such a relief when the second number is rising well ☺️. Mine at 10dp5dt was only 119, but on 12dpt it was 365. Very similar to my results from a few yrs ago with my DS, so I think I'm just always on the lower end at first.
Will be thinking of you Friday!
    Mine isn't until 8/1 when I'll be 6w3d.
Wish we could fast forward past this early tense part.
