Upcoming appointments: 16 week with NP tomorrow. Hopefully, nothing special but will be happy to hear that heart rate again.
How are you feeling?: Mostly ok, still a little blah where everything sounds yucky.
Rants/Raves: We moved in February. My husband loves the location and actual house. I pretty much dislike it all. I'm definitely more of a new build, boring every house looks kinda like the other house kind of person. I wanted a fenced yard and sidewalks, i got neither. Also when i have to go into the office (right now twice a week) my commute sucks! But my husband is a designer so i let him pick the house and I got to have two kids (he never wanted kids). It's still hard for me not to complain. The issue is we live in an amazing neighborhood and have view of a lake--but it's hard with young kids IMO. I try to keep my mouth shut because i'm incredibly lucky--just not my actual style.
Questions: I know it's been asked before, but how many of you are feeling the baby? I thought i was about a week ago, but in hindesite, i'm thinking it was just gas/upset stomach.
GTKY: Would you rather swim or hike? So my real answer is go on a hike and then swim, but if i had to choose just one for the rest of my life, it would be swimming.
Upcoming appointments: Tomorrow for anatomy scan! Can't wait!
How are you feeling?: Feeling pretty good! School/work starts next Tuesday though, and I'm sure the exhaustion will hit like crazy! It think it will help that I have a student teacher though.
Rants/Raves: Rant - I went to fix my son's drawer in his dresser with gorilla glue and somehow managed to get some in my hair and on my shirt, and had to cut some of my hair. Thankfully I have a hair appointment on Thursday. Rave - We're getting new carpet installed as we speak! I'm so excited!
Questions: None that I can think of
GTKY: Would you rather swim or hike? I would also prefer to hike and then swim, but if I had to choose just one, it'd be swim.
@blackhottamales, I have been feeling baby sporadically since about week 15. I tend to notice it more now when I'm lying down in the morning or at night.
Size of the baby: a mango; the alien in the claw machine in Toy Story
Upcoming appointments: anatomy scan 8/24
How are you feeling?: Pretty good, decent energy... baby was moving around a LOT last night during my coughing fit. It was neat, but did nothing to help me get back to sleep, haha.
Rants/Raves: I just got an Instacart delivery from Costco and they had my favorite poppyseed salad, so I'm stoked to have that for lunch today with some chicken. The retaining wall/fence guys should be done today hopefully, but it's been nice being forced to walk the dogs, although it's hard to get out early enough to beat the heat.
Questions: none
GTKY: Would you rather swim or hike? I am NOT a hiker at all, so swim for sure. It's been so long since I've actually been swimming - it's mostly me standing around in a pool with the kids, but that's still fun.
How are you feeling?: Good! Starting to feel more uncomfortable and feeling things stretch and pull more. My bellybutton is also changing which grosses me out.
Rants/Raves: We just got home from our long weekend in the Finger Lakes, which was lovely and I ate way too much junk food. I’m happy to be home though…my rant is that I have the eye doctor on Wednesday and I’m dreading it.
Questions: NATM
GTKY: Would you rather swim or hike? Swim.
@blackhottamales I don’t think I’ve felt the baby yet. TMI, I’m always a little gassy so what I thought was gas might have been the baby. Although I’m almost certain I felt her while I was drifting off to sleep a week or so ago. I am really curious to see if I have anterior placenta!
@fifilala516 my belly button is changing too. I used to have a super deep one before I had my son. It got shallower during my pregnancy, but never popped, thankfully. However it never fully went back post partum, and I'm afraid that it's going to pop this pregnancy, because it already feels extra shallow.
@blackhottamales - I don't know if I'm feeling the baby yet.. same thing as you- I thought I did a week ago, but maybe not!? I'm 18w1d now.
@magalina_h so excited for you! Hope you have a great scan tomorrow ❤️
@fifilala516 I'm totally stretching too.. felt really big again today.. I'm sure I'll have lots of those to come 😂. My belly button does look a little more wrinkled above it. 🤷♀️BUT, One of my unexpected surprises of my first pregnancy was the fact I got to see the bottom of my belly button! It was like a dream come true 🤣 I've been searching for it for my whole life. Haha.
@GracieL79 yay for massage- good job booking that 👍
Upcoming appointments: Check-up 8/26 and anatomy scan 9/10! 🎉
How are you feeling?: Soo much better than before! Mainly just tired now, and have to pee so much at night! Also, my uterus feels like it’s full/stretching and I have felt some flutters 🤷♀️💙
Rants/Raves: We got married August 7th and announced that we were pregnant to everyone and did the gender reveal at the same time...it was awesome!!! I attached a picture 🥰
Rant - I really wish I could have had some wine at the wedding reception 😂 Also...I’m a curvier/plus size gal and afraid I’m not gonna show or have any kind of cute bump 😞
Questions: what is the best thing for pregnancy constipation!?! Help! Lol
@chelswcu12 Congratulations all around!!! You looked beautiful. I hear you about being curvier - at first it just looked like I had too many burritos but now it's a whole ass bump and you can definitely tell.
I am the QUEEN of constipation - I did some prune juice (which worked OK) and the Miralax everyday which did the trick until it gave me the opposite problem (lol) and I had to cut back. Now I'm taking 2 Colace a day and it seems to be a good balance.
@chelswcu12 congrats!! How fun!! I eat a bowl of Raisin Bran (but I take out the raisins cause I don’t like them) with bananas every day. I also like these bars, they are high protein, high fiber, low sugar:
How are you feeling?: MUCH better after my root canal last week. No more tooth pain!
Rants/Raves: Rant - I hate packing so so so much. We are moving in October and I am trying to get organized early while I have energy, but man it sucks!
Trying to think of a rave and I can't. It's not like everything is terrible. Maybe I am just recovering from the shock of tooth problems!! 😂
Questions: none.
GTKY: Would you rather swim or hike? Oh this question is unfair!! These are my two favorite activities!! I suppose I would go with swim just because that I was my original passion!
18w/2d; size of an artichoke. Anatomy scan at 20w! That's when we find out the sex 😁
How are you feeling?: Doing ok overall. Starting to feel big. My daughter is sick right now (confirmed not covid, yay).. unfortunately I'm expecting to get sick soon too.
Rants/Raves: With everything going on I feel like I haven't gotten to focus.much on this pregnancy. I really have to make cleaning up my office a priority! I totally feel like I'm already running out of 2nd trimester time to do things 😬
Questions: Anyone making plans for Thanksgiving? I'm definitely not going anywhere for Christmas.. too close to my due date of Jan 16.
GTKY: Hike! I'm ok at swimming.. but could never get the breathing right.. so I always feel uncomfortable.
@Limes030 Glad your daughter is Covid-free! And hopefully it skips you. I was sick last week and by some miracle, both kids and my husband didn't catch whatever I had. Regarding Thanksgiving, we switch off doing Thanksgiving at our house and my in-laws house in Reno... this is thankfully our year to host, because yeah, I don't want to travel that late. My parents are local so everyone will be able to be together no problem. Christmas is an interesting situation for us, though... we always host Christmas here, and it's both sets of parents, my brother and SIL, and my SIL, BIL, and their kid. It sounds like a lot, but it's actually pretty awesome, and my MIL does a TON of the work to help, too. I'm due January 5, and I have mixed feelings about what to do.
Rants/Raves: over this anterior placenta and not being able to feel the baby yet
Questions: has anyone else had an anterior placenta? When did you feel baby? Mine was posterior with my son, and I felt everything, so this is annoying.
GTKY: Would you rather swim or hike? Hmmmm. If it's for distance, I'd rather hike. My lungs would explode swimming for extended distances. But I like swimming to cool off.
@sarah_is_pregnant I have an anterior placenta - I think I've had one for all 3 pregnancies - and it was around week 18 when I started feeling the baby, so maybe your timing is coming very soon!
@sarah_is_pregnant im due January 24th! We are almost exactly the same! I have felt a few “flutters” here and there...especially last week...but not so much this week. Hopefully I’ll feel More soon and hope you do too! 💙
Rants/Raves: Rant: I have to go do the 3 hour glucose test. Also, my husband has been working long hours and leaves Saturday for a week for work. Rave: We got new health insurance and it is so much better than what we had before!
Questions: None at the moment
GTKY: Would you rather swim or hike? Right now, swim.
Upcoming appointments: next week OB appt and anatomy scan-so nervous!
How are you feeling?: physically okay. Just really low on patience and ready for my kids to go back to school because they have the end of summer crazies.
Rants/Raves: Our kitchen Reno is going soooo slow. Waiting on sub contractors to get it together.
GTKY: Would you rather swim or hike? This is a hard one. I love both.
Upcoming appointments: 20 week anatomy scan in 3 weeks
How are you feeling?: pretty good, still don’t have lots of energy but other than that nausea is pretty much all gone, sleeping well
Rants/Raves: Rant: we’re have work done in our yard and house and it’s going so slowly. I don’t care so much about the work inside but hoping we’ll be able to use the new deck/yard before the summer weather is completely gone. Rave: I’m just thankful to be feeling better.
Questions: none
GTKY: Would you rather swim or hike? I’d rather hang out in/by a pool, but if we’re talking about exercise I guess I’d pick hiking because I’m terrible at swimming long distances.
@blackhottamalesi. 17+4, and I still don't think I've felt him. There have been a few times where I've been like 'ya. That might have been a kick' but then gas feels really similar. I expect to start feeling him soon. I can feel my belly and know where he is situated. I've also had weird feelings....like, a change in pressure...where I think that was him rolling/changing positions.
@blackhottamales I have always been late to the "feeling baby" game. I do think I've been feeling some movement this time around, but with my older two boys, I'm fairly certain it was closer to or even beyond 20 weeks. I did have an anterior placenta with my first which I know makes it harder to feel movement.
@chelswcu12 congrats on your marriage!! Wow, what a fun surprise.
@sarah_is_pregnant Mentioned above, but I think it was closer to 20 weeks when I felt my son with an anterior placenta. Hang in there! It will come. :-)
How far along are you//EDD: 17+1, 1/26
Size of the baby: pomegranate
Upcoming appointments: not for a few weeks
How are you feeling?: UGH! Not great -- was reealllly hoping for some 2nd tri relief, but honestly feeling as sick and tired as before.
Rants/Raves: See above, haha. Other than that, I am back to work for the school year which isn't so bad knowing I am not working the whole year.
Questions: Babymoons? Where to?
GTKY: Would you rather swim or hike? So if we're talking for physical activity and not just lounging in a pool, I would definitely choose hiking (especially if in a beautiful locale).
Upcoming appointments: Anatomy scan first week of September!
How are you feeling?: Pretty good, just tired and ready for my kitchen remodel to be completed!!
Rants/Raves: Okay, hear me out, but COSTCO BROUGHT BACK MY FAV CHOC CHIP COOKIE ICE CREAM SANDWICHES…. And they are giving me LIFE!
Questions: Anyone pick their names yet?!
GTKY: Would you rather swim or hike? Being pregnant in Florida right now, ya girl can only think swimming as a rational choice. Ask me again in December and January and it will be hike, lol.
@travistori - I need to know more about these Costco ice cream cookie sandwiches! I LOVE the ones from Trader Joe’s. Have you tried those? Are the Costco ones better? I am trying to minimize sugar but may need to make an exception. Yum!!!
