Trying to Get Pregnant

TWW Friday 8/13

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Thanks for keeping this a safe place for us all to engage!**

Re: TWW Friday 8/13

  • Month/Cycle: 3/2

    CD/DPO: 12/1

    Timing: good

    Typical LP length: unkown

Testing: On 8/26 (CD 14); after a bit of a rollercoaster last time, I don't even want to have HPTs in the house until 8/26.  Going for a squint free cycle!

R/R: So glad it's the weekend; can't wait to just relax!

CS/Q: Last cycle, despite seeing a peak on my CBAD, I'm actually not sure if I ovulated given I peaked on CD19 and had a 43 day cycle...  Based on feedback from this group, this cycle I'm temping to confirm.  However, the night before O and O-1, I drank a couple of glasses per wine and I'm concerned that it impacted my temperature.  I'm curious for other folks who have have had a couple of drinks during their cycle, how do you think about temping? Thanks!

  • Month/Cycle: 1/1

    CD/DPO: 25/9

    Timing: -5, -2, -1, O

    Typical LP length: Unknown

Testing: BFN this morning on DPO9. Testing again on Monday and Thursday next week

    R/R:

CS/Q: Did TB change their group rules etc.? I can no longer view any of the BMBs unless I join them... I just want to lurk!

  • @agesandstages In this current cycle I had two days with high temps - after an all nighter for my last class of the semester and the next night after celebrating with quite a few drinks. I haven’t noticed a distinct change in bbt from alcohol before until that one. The next few days came back low before having my real shift, so I discarded them from FF.
@jellie603 I’ve definitely been lurking around April but it’s taken me a couple tries to find the link.

    Month/Cycle: 4/3

    CD/DPO: 39/9

    Timing: O-1

    Typical LP length: unknown

Testing: well…I told myself Sunday but for completely insane reasons I’m going to test tomorrow instead. I…don’t like the number 11 and like 10 much better. I know, just ridiculous.

R/R: I managed to calm my TWW anxiety down substantially last night and even woke up feeling ok this morning! Then I realized that one boob is noticeably larger and proceeded to spiral into a panic attack. I’ve been trying to avoid feeling myself up in public all afternoon. I am apparently left boobed now.

    CS/Q: nope

  • @agesandstages it does, thank you! Where did the BMBs go?? I can't find them on the community landing page anymore. @pinkkillersheep where do you land when you find it?
  • Happy belated birthday, @SmashJam!

@agesandstages I had a few drinks last night and had a super high temp this morning, too. Depending on what my temp looks like tomorrow, I’ll discard it.

    Month/Cycle: 2/2

    CD/DPO: 23/9

    Timing: O-2, O

    Typical LP length: Not sure

    Testing: Monday if no AF

R/R: DH is supposed to be gone for Army training the next few weeks so I always feel a little down before he goes. It’s nothing compared to the deployments we used to do but I still hate saying goodbye! Due to C19 stuff he may end up staying here and doing it remotely so FX.

    CS/Q: Nope

  • Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes yesterday!

@jellie603 glad you asked this-I can get to it on the app but not on the computer-I also like to lurk March and April, lol!

@agesandstages thanks for that link. Also I agree with @pinkkillersheep, I have only ever noticed a distinct difference in temps if it was A LOT of drinks.

@aloha_mama thanks! And fx he gets to do his training remote!

    Month/Cycle: 3/3

    CD/DPO: 22/6

    Timing: great

Typical LP length: 10-12 days, although now that I look it says last months was 13.

Testing: Ideally, Tuesday. But honestly, Monday, too. Maybe even Sunday if I'm feeling crazy.

R/R: My fitbit died! It was on its way out but was hoping it would keep going for a little longer. My wrist feels naked without it and I feel like nothing I do counts. Not to mention I have no alarm now on my arm. Rave: another beautiful lake day! Next week is inservice (Thursday) so I'm soaking it alllll up!

    CS/Q:

  • Month/Cycle: 5/4

    CD/DPO: 25/3

Timing: -1,-2 or - 1,o based on what I think and not ff.

    Typical LP length: 10

Testing: likely wait until dpo 10 so next Friday?

R/R: I was not going to join tb yet because I wanted to just go straight to the bmb, but after 3 cycles not working I felt the need to come here. If this cycle doesn't work we'll be tta for the next couple months because my husband doesn't want another kid born around the same week, and then I don't want to deal with 2 full deductibles insurance wise. For rave we're headed home this week from being gone all summer and I'm ready to go back to our normal routine even if that means work the week after.

CS/Q opk kind of question, I've typically ovulated on cycle day 22, I use a tempdrop bbt and with the cold weather and then hot and AC my temping is all over the place, I also fell asleep before putting it on the day I should have gotten a dip for O. I got a positive reading on cd21 as well as 22 so according to ff I ovulated on CD 23,thoughts?

  • @jellie603 I agree that the BMBs are impossible to find from the desktop site. I mostly mobile bump and it’s much easier to find them.
  • I have a general TTC question and not sure where to ask, so hopefully this is okay. If not, let me know and I'll delete! I'm new to the community and I feel like I know the rules but dont want to break any! Also not sure how to make a spoiler 🤦🏻‍♀️.

Should we consider talking to our doctors if we have not been using any sort of protection/prevention (BC, condoms, pull out) for 4 years and haven't conceived? We have a 4yo that was conceived while I was on the pill - haven't take it since. While we haven't been trying until now, we also haven't been preventing. I know none of us are doctors but I'm not sure what we should do here.

  • @jellie603 there should be a monthly CS/Q thread somewhere that is good for general questions. Might be a page or 2 back.

As for spoilering, it's under the paragraph symbol. You can highlight before you click on the spoiler button. Or click spoiler then type in what you want but people tend to get stuck in the box that way.

To answer your question, it may depend on the doctor. Some may say you have to be actively trying for a year using tracking and/or EOD sex throughout your cycle before they will look into it or refer you to a specialist. It's hard to know how the NTNP for years will play into their opinion 🤷‍♀️. It wouldn't hurt to ask!

  • @inthewoods23 ohh there it is, thank you! And perfect, I'll look for that general CS/Q thread.

Thanks for the insight! We just moved here not even a year ago and I've barely established a PCP for myself and haven't looked into an OB yet. I'm not even sure what questions to ask or info to give at this point but, you're right, it can't hurt to ask!
  • @jellie603 sounds like you have the perfect opportunity to ask when you get established with a new OB. They'll probably want your current TTC history including the history with your first as well as your age. If you're 35 or older the recommendation is to speak with a doctor at 6 months, not 12.

  • @inthewoods23 thank you! I am going to assume that it does not apply for your husband though, huh. I'm 31 and he is 40. But yes! I plan to establish care this month and that will be my first conversation.
  • @jellie603 lol no it doesn't unfortunately. Do men even have a decline in fertility like we do? Curses being a female :D

Ok I just looked it up and the oldest man to father a child was 94 in 2010 and had another at the age of 96. Not the answer I was expecting lol. I thought it would maybe be someone in their 80s!

  • @inthewoods23 holy cows! I couldn't imagine being that old and still being fertile and willing to assist a woman in that situation 😂.

Right?! Just add it to the list of "it is so awesome being a woman...really" ugh!
