How are you doing with everything at the moment? I really want to cry but I just can’t, so that’s where I am right now (thank ya, hormones). The delta variant crap is getting me down. I already had one pandemic pregnancy/birth, I naively thought this one would feel more “normal” (or what I used to think of as normal) and this surge just makes me worried I won’t ever experience normal as a pregnant lady. I’m thankful for vaccines and that most of the people I love are vaccinated. But the stress of it all is just really bringing me down today. I’m just trying to remind myself that having a non-pandemic pregnancy isn’t the most important thing, having a healthy pregnancy and baby is the most important thing. Just going with a pity party for now.

My sweet DD has RSV, which has made the past few days miserable for her. I'm so frustrated that she was back in daycare for a whopping three days and came home with this. I know it happens, but I hate how sick she is right now. Pregnancy-wise, just counting down until my first appointment and hoping everything is okay.

@rachelredhead I'm so sorry you're stressing! I think we probably all wish circumstances were different. I hope that by winter you might be able to experience some of the "normal" pregnancy events, but either way it will be perfect when that baby is in your arms.

  • @rachelredhead I'm sorry you are feeling this way and I totally get it. DD2 was 8 months old when COVID hit here so she has missed out on everything and I feel like she's being cheated. I used to take DD1 everywhere. We were never home, always out on adventures (she was my only sidekick for almost 6 years) and would pick up and go anywhere at the drop of a hat. I even kept her home for the last 2 months of kindergarten since I was on sick leave before my mat leave started and we went everywhere before DD2 came along...and even after! But now she has been stuck at home for a year and a half, even her school is remote, and I know she is missing what her life used to be like. I am terrified of one of my girls getting sick...so we are making the best of just being at home for as long as we need to until I'm sure they are safe. The up side is that my girls have gotten to bond in a way they never would have otherwise. I am feeling the stress of it much more now that I'm pregnant. Sending love your way ❤

@abjm0325 I'm sorry your little is sick. It is the worst when they are not feeling well and we can't do anything about it.

Just stressed about the first ultrasound. I'm hoping that the severe symptoms = healthy baby but I know from experience that's not always the case. I'm already getting so attached even though I'm trying so hard not to, and I know I'll be crushed if there is no heartbeat next week.

How are you doing with everything at the moment? A bit nervous that I’ve had basically no nausea. Just trying to use positive affirmations until my u/s on Monday.

My husband is older than I am (51), so not only am I AMA, but my partner is going to have some wonky sperm in the mix. Anyone else have an older partner? It does make me aware that we are more likely to have chromosomal abnormalities.

  • @panaceia Sending you every positive thought that you have a perfect ultrasound.
@abjm0325 I have your daughter feels better soon!
@rachelredhead Big hugs. Having babies/raising children during a pandemic is HARD. We should all get some gold medals and gift cards to The Olive Garden for how hard we work to make things seem “normal.”

How far along are you? 7+6 (although probably about a week before that) still confirming dates with another ultrasound next week

How are you doing with everything at the moment? Feeling a bit worried.  I have a repeat US next week to check on little babe. I"m trying to remain hopeful but not feeling the best about it today. little one was measuring just a little behind and heart rate just under the normal range, so things could be fine or they could not be fine and i'm in the waiting game.  I still have all the same symptoms, so I'm trying to believe that's a good sign. It's hard being an AMA mom knowing both that risk of miscarriage is higher AND wanting a healthy baby to not take forever

Feeling all you pandemic mommas - My little had just started to walk at the beginning of the pandemic, so we missed out on so many fun opportunities with him.  Even now we don't do too much because he's still too little to be vaccinated.   We also moved to a climate with 4 seasons from a warm weather climate, so i'm not looking forward to this winter with all the new variants.  Hoping the world is in a better place soon for our babes
  • @elle-0409 Yes to older partners. SO is 54. He was 46 when DD1 was born and 52 with DD2. I think the mix of his age plus mine is what has accounted for all of our losses...BUT both my girls are perfect so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that a healthy sperm made it to a healthy egg this time 🤞🤞🤞Also don't worry too much about nausea. Some people don't get it at all. With my first I had HG but the nausea etc didn't start until I was just over 10 weeks. I'm sure your ultrasound on Monday will be perfect 🥰💞
  • @runnergirl2018 Sending all positive thoughts your way for a great next ultrasound! If it makes you feel any better we are in a 4 season climate and I actually find the colder months easier to get outside to playgrounds etc because not as many people are out and about in the cold weather.
  • @Panaceia That's a good point! my little one is not bothered by the cold either!
