COVID Vaccine please be nice

Hi! I'm 8 wks and was curious as to if anyone on here had recieved the vaccine and their experience. We've had fertility issues, so I'm a little nervous to do anything to jeopardize this pregnancy. Of course all the Dr opinions are do what's best for you. I dont want a debate, just curious how many of you did/didnt get it during pregnancy. Or if you have plans for it. Thanks ladies!

I got mine during my IVF transfer cycle, like... I got the shot the day after the transfer. I jumped at the opportunity. Sure, I felt like crap the next day, but big deal - I feel great now, and I'd much rather have had that one day of misery than get Covid during the pregnancy. It was an extremely easy choice for me, especially since my kids are back in preschool, and the chances of getting Covid would have increased without the vaccine, compared to our 14 months in isolation.

*TW* I actually ended up getting pregnant and having a chemical pregnancy in between the first and second dose, and then got pregnant again immediately after. So I wouldn’t worry about it affecting your fertility.

@sassysam83 Vaccine effects happen within days/weeks, not months. Women who were pregnant during the trials have given birth and a baby was already born with antibodies. I wouldn't worry. I am actually hoping we are able to get boosters soon, as I don't think any antibodies I have would pass on to my daughter.

Three of my docs recommend that I get the Covid shots after my first trimester. I did that... and then had a miscarriage at 17 weeks on May 6. My OB said that she drank coffee while pregnant and always blames that on her miscarriage. The thing is, we never know what causes them for the most part. And it is true-- covid is such a serious illness and getting the vaccine is important. Best of luck to you on your journey

I have had the Jansen vaccine in the last year and am currently 5wks. I got it right before the whole “pulled for clotting issues” thing, which apparently isn’t a thing anymore. Felt a little worse than after the flu shot but that’s about what it amounted to.

I got the moderna vaccine and my husband got Pfizer. I’m 40, he’s 37 and we got pregnant after six months of trying. It’s week 11 now and everything is going great!

I’m not vaccinated. I had covid in 2020 with mild symptoms and I had covid a few weeks back at 5weeks pregnant. Again, very mild symptoms for ME. Don’t plan on getting the vaccine. Not enough research and info out there for me personally to feel comfortable enough to get it, pregnant or not.

I have gotten all mine including booster shot while pregnant and no issues minus the typical day after stuff. I've read reliable sources that recommend it since it can pass onto baby in a good way.

I am currently at 7 weeks and just got my first dose. It was definitely a tricky decision to make. To me, COVID is still so new for there to be true research of whether the vaccine or COVID itself have any long term effects. Also, I have been highly exposed to COVID and somehow *knocks on wood* have ended up never getting it through this whole thing, so for my own sake I didn’t really care about getting the vaccine.

I ended up deciding to get it for the sole protection and hope of my baby having antibodies.

I have friends who gave birth before the vaccines and whose babies have gotten covid ( and one very precariously sick). Since then, the decision to get the vaccine while trying to get pregnant became about protecting the baby and not about only me. I got the vaccine and booster as soon as I could and feel that it was the best decision I could make to protect me, my baby and the people around me. Every day we ingest things and are exposed to things that have not come even close to the amount of testing and studies that the vaccine has. That’s why it was an easy decision for me.

Did your OB ask you to take a baby aspirin cause of clotting risks from COVID? Mine did and trying to figure out if that’s the standard of care these days with all doctors?

Yes this is standard! I’ve known a few woman who were told to take it after having covid. All of whom where already vaccinated!

I got my booster the other day at 5 weeks. Had already scheduled the appointment and just found out a couple days before. My OB endorsed getting it this early. But I think I may have had a fever the night after and didn’t treat it. So now I’m worried about that haha
