Weekly Randoms 7/12

I've never watched this show, and I feel like I need to. We just finished Mythic Quest on Apple+, and that was created by both these guys, and that was really good, so... I think I'll start It's Always Sunny today. Or tomorrow. I have a crapload of housework to do after my kids have been on break from preschool for the past week.

Re: Weekly Randoms 7/12

  • @Lisa3379, you should! It's funny!  I'll have to check out Mythic Quest!

I have camp all week that I am running.  I got so many steps in yesterday, and I was exhausted!! Mini prep for going back to work in a little over a month, I guess.  I was on the fence before, but I've fully decided - I'm done doing camp after this summer.  It's been 9 years and I've moved past it.  Plus with having a 6 month old next summer, I'm done.  I feel like I have so much on my plate this week and not enough time to do it.  I told my SIL I'd cut out a banner for my niece's 1st birthday using my Cricut - not realizing the banner she wanted had 129,387 pieces to it.  Plus we have our garage sale this Saturday that I need to prep for. And I need to pack for a week of camp in MN - we leave on Sunday. But after that week, I have 2 full weeks of nothing!!

  • I am not an avid "Always Sunny" watcher but when I do, I always laugh out loud - it's hilarious and crude, which is just my humor! I am watching "The Sopranos" from the beginning. I've only seen it bits and pieces, never the whole way through. It's sooo good.

Constantly refreshing my NIPT results, even though the lab just got the sample today and I know it takes about a week. This is going to be the longest week of my life.

God willing the NIPT results come back normal, we will formally announce this pregnancy and perhaps get started on a registry. I legit have no idea what to register for, what I need - I'll have to consult a lot of guides. This should probably go in the STM+ thread, but for any STM+, what is something you registered for that you ended up not needing OR conversely, hadn't but wished you did?!

@fifilala516, my husband and I were just talking about the Sopranos the other night.  I didn't watch it when it was on either, but I feel like I should. I, too, have only seen bits and pieces.  I hope you get your NIPT results back sooner than later! I was out of town for 4 days after my blood draw, so it was a good distraction.  I got my results the day after I got home.

As for registry, my "must haves" were a pack n' play or bassinet (we kept my son in our room for the first 10ish weeks, some kind of chair/bouncer to set baby in (so needed so you can take a shower!), carseat and stroller/travel system - obviously, and a dishwasher basket for bottle/pump parts, some kind of bath chair, some kind of high chair - I really liked the Fisher Price space saver that just clips to an existing chair so that we're not taking up extra space with a giant highchair.  1 thing I didn't use at all was a swing.  I still have mine and will try it for this baby, but we didn't use it all for my son - he hated it.   My other love was the Aden and Anais burpy bibs.  They are HUGE, very absorbent, and also double as a bib.

  • I was JUST thinking this morning about starting a registry thread, but wondered if it was a little early... why don't we start a general registry discussion with must-have categories, and then in the coming weeks we can start specific threads for recommendations? Like, a separate stroller thread, feeding/meal stuff, bath stuff, car seats, etc?

And @fifilala516 - for a little hope, I got my NIPT results the day after I got the email from Natera saying they got my test, so hopefully that happens for you too! And this is kinda funny - the only Sopranos episodes I've seen are the very first and the very last episodes!

@magalina_h - You are like Wonder Woman over there with all the stuff you have going on! I'm super impressed. And I'm sure you're counting the days until your 2 weeks of nothing!

  • @Lisa3379 I would be the happiest person if that happened to me! It's through Sema4, which I've never heard of. *shrugs*

And I like that idea about registry threads!
  • @Lisa3379 I know some other month boards do a product spotlight each week - we could do something like that too!

  • My sciatic pain is juuuusgt about gone, thank God. I spoke with my OB yesterday and she gave me a referral to a physical therapist, and suggested I go sooner rather than later to get some help with stretches and strategies to help if it comes back, which she thinks it probably will at some point. I'm so lazy though, I have a feeling I won't deal with it until it does come back.

But since I'm feeling better, I think I'm going to try to ride the Peloton today for the first time in I don't even know how long. I'm excited, but I know it's going to be a big struggle. I used to ride every day (before IVF) and I know I'll be a little bummed to see my output and endurance fall so much. Anyone else have a Peloton?
