Re: WTO Thursday 7/8

  • Been having a hard time feeling like it’s the right time to jump back in.

    Month/Cycle: 2/1AL

    CD: 4

    WAYDTGKU: currently benched

R/R: I’ve decided I’m going to track this cycle after being on the fence purely to see what my luteal phase is doing. As much as I don’t want to, I feel like it’s the right thing to do. My doctor said to wait this cycle and try again next cycle and recommended acupuncture. I’m hesitant but might start looking into it.

CS/Q: has anyone done acupuncture for fertility, specifically to lengthen the luteal phase? My doctor is very science based but believes this works better than progesterone and used it herself…

  • @paytonpedro no advice or experience about acupuncture but I know a couple people who have done it. One was successful in ttc, one was not. 🤷‍♀️

    Month/Cycle: 25/4 AL

    CD: 2

WAYDTGKU: Letrozole & TI? PNV, OPKs

R/R: I called my OB’s office yesterday to see if my doctor wants me to do another cycle of Letrozole. I’m supposed to hear back from them today.

I went out this morning to one of the local farms and got fresh peaches, blueberries, and black raspberries. I think I’m going to make a peach cobbler and perhaps some peach salsa later. DH wants to make a blueberry buckle for our family vacation at the end of the month.

    CS/Q:

  • @gingermama29 thanks for commenting on that, so far reading it seems to be 50/50 🤷🏼‍♀️
yum!! That sounds fabulous!!While we were on vacation last week (just at my family’s cabin in our camper) we went to a local farm stand almost everyday for the produce! There is nothing better! But, what exactly is a blueberry buckle? Lol
  • @paytonpedro it’s essentially a blueberry coffee cake
  • *lurking from tww*
@paytonpedro if you are considering the acupuncture, definitely check with your insurance if it's covered. I've been interested in trying it for stress reduction and blood flow, but upon checking our medical plan it's one of things they don't cover in any capacity (but thank god they do cover infertility stuff! phew).

  • @paytonpedro there are acupuncturists who are specialized in fertility who will work in tandem with your western practitioner. You might try googling for one in your area.

As to what @inthewoods23 said about health coverage. If your plan does cover acupuncture, it’s usually for treatment of pain management. But some acupuncturists operate on a sliding scale and have packaged deals.
  • @inthewoods23 thanks for the advice!! I planned on/thought about calling the chiropractor we use, because they offer it at that office, to check if it is covered. But it probably wouldn’t be crazy expensive there if it isn’t… I think** but definitely a valid point! Thanks again!
  • @paytonpedro I haven't tried it but I have looked into it and am planning on trying it in the next few months if we aren't successful on our own. I know my insurance only covers a certain amount (12 visits a year).

@gingermama29 ohhh I love peach cobbler! We have peach trees that grew like crazy and give off a TON of fruit, so when it all ripens at once it's a mad dash to save it all. I usually make peach cobbler and peach jam when it's time!

    Month/Cycle: 14/1AL

    WAYDTGKU: charting

R/R: I watched In the Heights last night. I really loved it. It's a lot cooler today - Elsa on the way - so I just got back from a walk with the dog and figuring out lunch! Not much of an update lol.

    CS/Q:
  • @fameonmain2 oooh I loved In the Heights!! LMM’s music is amazing!! ❤️

R/R: I'm in charge of ordering math workbooks for this coming year, which has been a mess, but in abscense of a hard date for lateness to my principal I held off on telling her they were going to be late-and just got the call that they will NOT be late if I take non-perforated pages that they accidentally printed instead of perforated. I didn't even know the workbooks were perforated. So they are coming early and now I look like I had this all under control the whole time!  Rant: more damn rain today and tomorrow. I'm going to have to go pick some veggies out of the garden and check on the out of control weeds.

    CS/Q: nope.

@paytonpedro totally understand the thought of tracking-it's hard to take a month off and not know what your body is doing after tracking it so closely. At the worst it gives you more data?

@gingermama29 I saw a sign for blueberries at the local farmstand today and did an immediate turn in-ended up with two pints and. a few peppers for the drunken noodles i'm making later! The produce is really starting to flow in!

  • @mamanbebe yes I’m in the very very beginning stages. I know my doctor recommends one that she used but it’s like 35 minutes away so I’m hoping to find one closer.

I looked into our plan a little and I think it’s on the same level as chiropractor and I get so many visits but still have a small copay. It doesn’t specify about the reason for acupuncture. I should really just call the insurance company.

@fameonmain2 that’s what I was initially thinking as well but then, we’ll, now I’m back here. So that’s kind of changed my mind. I’m off this cycle so I will have lots of time to look into it and if it’s something I think is worth trying sooner than later.

@SmashJam I’m only doing it for the data. 😅
good job with the workbooks! Haha. It’s raining here too but both of my gardens need it so I’m not really complaining too much. I spent at least 8 hours last week weeding my 1250sq ft garden and my thighs are literally still sore. I couldn’t even walk after 🤣🤣 I hope yours isn’t as bad and you can get it done quickly!! Or maybe just live with it! Lol. I do have to check my peas, there are probably more I have to go pick. Thanks for the reminder!

    @paytonpedro

I found tracking my cycle post loss to be very informative. At the VERY least, I knew when to expect my period, since that can vary widely after a MC or CP. My LP was 2 days shorter than normal, but I also didn't take PG like I normally do, so who knows if that was the reason.
  • @pajamstagrams thank you! Yes that’s why I’m feeling like I just need to do it. I really hope my already short lp isn’t any shorter!!
  • from yesterday @fameonmain2 california!

    WAYDTGKU: gotta go get opks

R/R: nope, just hoping all these trop storm/flood warnings from elsa go away asap

    CS/Q: natm

    @gingermama29 that all sound delish!
@inthewoods23 i started acupuncture for stress mgmt and loved it, it was also not covered but i was able to use hsa $ for it!
@paytonpedro i paid $65 per session and went every 6 weeks ***********tw pg/live child - in spoiler
i did acupuncture for years and my therapist did some work to prep me to get pregnant with my first. i'm actually not doing it currently, and am beginning to wonder if that's a missing component end tw**************
  • @paytonpedro my garden is much smaller...so jealous. I have 5 raised beds and a 50 sq ft garden plot in the community garden
  •  @paytonpedro I have a friend who started acupuncture last year and would recommend it...
She started after a mc last year and has since announced she is pregnant

Jealous of everyone's amazing sounding fruit and produce!

    Month/Cycle: 2/3

    CD: 3

    WAYDTGKU: bbt, cm, opk's

R/R: Today was a decent day, though I did have a team member resign at work. It's a great move for him but means our already stretched too thin team is about to get even leaner...

I made an OBGYN appt to try and get this cycle irregularity issue figured out but the soonest they had was in September. I'm sure I'll go down fifty thousand more rabbit holes between now and then but at least I put something on the calendar, so I'll call that a win.

    CS/Q: none

  • @anniemarie887 hmm that’s interesting! Thank you for sharing! That makes me much more interested in it. Maybe you should start again lol

@SmashJam my family has nearly 100acres so I just kind of took over my grandmas garden last year, and then expanded it this year. It’s SOOO much work 😅 but I’m hoping it’s worth it! I would love raised beds but I do corn and potatoes and that would make it harder to get the tractor in there and move stuff around each year.

@pinkkillersheep that’s so great to hear that for her!! I’m very much going to look into it this month that I’m benched and try to start ASAP. I’m sorry about you loosing a team member. They fired a girl at my work and stretched us too thin as well. It seems every industry is really hurting right now. That’s also unfortunate you can’t get into your obgyn sooner! I made a gi appointment a months and a half ago and it’s still not for another month. That’s just so crazy that health care is that backed up. Don’t google too much! Lol
  • *lurking from somewhere*
@paytonpedro I do fertility acupuncture and, well, not KUed yet but I find it immensely relaxing. Don’t do it if you find needles scary, or if you have to go out of your way to get there. Only do it if it makes you feel relaxed; the feeling will be multiplied.
