Weekly Randoms 6/28

Because it just seems to make sense to start this on a Monday? How was everyone's weekend?

Pretty chill over here. I was able to snag two naps because I offered to let my husband sleep in both days. Definitely a better trade for me, since I'm a morning person and I get so tired in the afternoon. The kids had swim lessons - first one every for the little guy, and the first one in 18 months for the 4 year old. We also made popsicles, which is one "cooking" activity I really like doing with the kids. If anyone's interested, this book is great - tons of interesting ideas, and some boozy popsicle recipes as well.

  • @Lisa3379 you are nicer than me. My husbands been taking like 95% of wake ups since I’ve been pregnant. Momma is tired and sick. He can get up lol.

  • @beckylookatherbump I mean, I'd probably lobby for the same if our kids weren't in preschool all day. I have plenty of time to rest during the day, thankfully :)

So I just got an email from Natera - they got my Panorama blood draw. The draw that was done last Tuesday. So they're telling me it'll take 1-2 weeks from NOW? Ugh. Natera was hella slow in sending me my genetic carrier test results a few months ago, so I'm preparing myself to be waiting for a long time, I guess. Boo.
  • @Lisa3379 it’s seems like Natera is one of the slower ones. I did maternity21 and got my results 5 days later (today)  which included a weekend. With my son it was 6 days including a weekend. I feel like everyone I know who did natera was waiting close to two weeks.
  • Happy Monday everyone! Today we hit up the zoo (where I did not demonstrate my best mom-ing skills while waiting in line for lunch with a VERY testy 6 year old. I may or may not have made him cry…).

We had a great weekend - saw 2 movies while the kiddo was at gma/gpa's. Quiet Place 2 and F9.  Both were really good!  Now he's watching tv while I work.  I am processing 2 book parties and getting things lined up for my camp that starts in 2 weeks.  EEK! I am currently scrambling to hit my target number of campers, line up another camp instructor, and high school interns.  Nothing like waiting until the last minute.  :# I'm so over this camp.

We've also decided to have a garage sale next Friday/Saturday to get rid of all of the stuff that we don't have room for as we transition to baby stuff. We're also using this opportunity to replace our sectional couch and console table, as well as get rid of a love seat we no longer want…and we're also going to replace the carpet in that room while we're at it.  Date night at the home goods store tonight!

@Lisa3379, glad you're getting some naps in! Naps are the best! I hope you get your test results back sooner than later!

I got that email too, and ended up getting my results 7 calendar days later. However my doctor never called me! I got them online. Apparently they were ready Thursday. I still haven’t peeked at the sex!
  • @kcf19 Ooh, that gives me some hope! And when are you going to look? Still deciding on whether or not it'll be a surprise?

I don’t know! We never found out before birth with the other 3 and it just feels weird and anticlimactic to look at a screen. Plus now I’m freaked out that the results won’t be accurate. People keep telling me to only trust it if it’s a girl because apparently if you are surrounded by boys their DNA can show up? But also I want to know…I think? Haha. Basically just being a crazy person.
  • @KCF19 I thought that boy DNA stuff was only for the Sneak Peek home-test kit? I thought NIPT blood work was supposed to be very accurate, like 97%.

The OB and panorama company says 99.9%! So maybe I don’t have to worry and they are talking about other tests.
  • Wow, I just got my NIPT test results back! I took the test last Tuesday, got an email yesterday that they received it, so I was ready to wait for a long time! Everything came back normal. I broke down in tears.

    Spoiler: loss
Even though I was pretty confident everything was ok since we had the embryo tested, memories from my TFMR last year flooded back to me hardcore. Whoa.

And again, even though we had the embryo tested, it was still good to hear confirmation that it's a girl. Yowza. One major scary (for me) milestone down. I'll still be anxious for my NT scan on Friday, but not as much so. :)
  • @Lisa3379 - yay!!! Congratulations to you!
