Trying to Get Pregnant

TWW Thursday 6/24

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Thanks for keeping this a safe place for us all to engage!**

Re: TWW Thursday 6/24

  • Month/Cycle: 1/1

    CD/DPO: 22/7dpo

    Timing: -2, -1, 0, +1

    Typical LP length: 7-9 days

Testing: If I make it to 10dpo

R/R: my temps seem to be holding high, so I’m optimistic about that. We leave tomorrow and my service will be shotty at best so I may not be on tb so much. I’m so excited to go see what my garden is doing. We’ve gotten lots of sunshine and rain so I hope it’s just booming! I also have said twice now that I am DONE planting but am totally contemplating going and getting a couple more plants, and artichoke and mostly herbs. 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

    CS/Q:

  • Loading the player...
  • Month/Cycle: 3

    CD/DPO: 27/5?

Timing: HIO(or Mosie) EOD during FW, Mira has my O date still as the 16th (so that would be 8 dpo) but I’m going with when I got a positive opk 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

    Typical LP length: 14ish

Testing: eh, gonna try to wait until 10 dpo but since I have this O question mark I might cave before then.

R/R: last night I was having some lower abdominal cramps so of course I was symptom spotting. But then my husband cracked me up and I let out a huge fart so pretty sure it was just gas. TMI maybe but keepin’ it real over here. 😂

    CS/Q: nope

@paytonpedro oh man, artichokes! How big do those plants get? I’m having trouble picturing them as a plant and not as a yummy part of my salad.
  • Started typing my responses to some question last night, and forgot to post. So finalizing here.

@paytonpedro @mokamonster: this diet is specifically for Hashimoto's. I started working with a functional medicine doctor, and this is what they recommend as a "cleanse" for their patients. At this point, I'm fairly certain that Hashi's is a contributing factor in why I haven't been able to conceive, even though Western doctors tell me otherwise. So, I've taken matter into my own hands. After the 21-day "cleanse" and strict diet, I will start the reintroduction phase.

@mokamonster It's only been 3 days, but it's going pretty fine! We've started eating a lot of salad leaves as vehicles for food, and that's been great! MH is super happy we're getting healthy. Now I just need to make sure he knows what foods we can/cannot eat. I went for a walk with the dog this evening, while he started cooking, and he used butter to sauté the Brussel sprouts. Harumph.

The EFL course sounds interesting. Are you actually teaching to folks in different countries? As for me, my only pet cravings have been a dog, which I ended up getting in April. But then again, we've wanted one for a long time, and I think the long time it's taken to get KU'ed just exacerbated the desire.

@paytonpedro have fun on your holiday!

    @rachelredhead just for you: https://www.reddit.com/r/MadeMeSmile/comments/o6qd78/that_was_a_big_one/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

    Month/Cycle: 18/18

    CD/DPO: 14/3

    Timing: -2, O

    Typical LP length: 🤷‍♀️

    Testing: nah

R/R: I went in for blood tests today ordered by my functional medicine doctors and there was a LOT of blood extracted from me. But then I asked the phlebotomist, and she showed me the volumes of each vials and it was only 5 x 8ml; 1 x 4ml; and 1 x 2.5ml. And they don't fill them up to the top, so it's actually not that much blood.

    CS/Q: nope

  • @rachelredhead so this is actually my first year growing them! But they literally look like those pokey weeds you step on in the grass, barefoot of course.

This is not my picture. It looks like they get pretty big! I’ll share a picture of mine this weekend in gardening!

Oh my gosh that is so funny with your husband! I’m sitting here laughing. Lol. Would literally be me 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️

@acleverusername minus your husband messing up and using butter, you’re so lucky he’s happy to be healthy with you. I have to have mine hide his snacks in his truck 🤦🏼‍♀️ When they’re filling up those tubes it always seems like a massive amount!! But I’m so bad with volume lol. I hope this diet really helps you manage the hashimotos! I feel like some western medicine, while amazing, is also narrow minded so I’m glad you went and got a second opinion/ treatment plan.

  • @acleverusername we are really strict with my diet too because even though doctors said Hashimoto's won't affect me getting pregnant, I don't want to take the chance. But my husband always wants to eat everything I can't!!

I am in China now (where my husband is from) and I teach young children English from ages 3 to 12. And trust my, the class is as far from interesting as possible. Teaching a class of 16 6 year olds different vowel sounds for 3 hours four times a week is definitely not fun. I'm going to be surprised if I stay sane through it honeslty.

    Month/Cycle: 9/9

    CD/DPO: 15/2

    Timing: -2, -1, 0

Typical LP length: 14 days like clockwork

    Testing: nope

R/R: I'm hating my job right now! I'm so close to quitting but I told myself I would keep working there until we got KU'ed because of the maternity leave (80% pay for 115 days!!) But it's such a stressful environment and I'm one of two competent teachers there right now so a lot of the weight is put on me.

On the bright side, DH and I just bought an apartment!! It's not dont being built, so we can customize the interior completely! It should be completely done by next March when our lease ends. I would share pics of the inside but it's just a concrete block, so I'm sharing the floor plan haha

  • Hello to all the new people here since I was last actively positing earlier this year; hello hello familiar faces!

@paytonpedro I had no idea what an artichoke plant looked like so thanks for sharing that! I think if I saw that in my yard, I'd think it was a weed! How funny for it.

@rachelredhead ok but ss to farting is so very much how this wait goes; I feel like that's the metaphor of TWW SS. lol

@acleverusername Woof, I do not handle blood draws well. That seems like a lot of blood still.

@mokamonster I am so sorry your job is such a stressful environment for you; that's so hard.

    Month/Cycle: 3/3

    CD/DPO: 23/3

    Timing: -4, -1, O

    Typical LP length: 12 days

Testing: July 1 (I think that's 10 DPO but it's before we travel for the weekend)

R/R: I'm so busy with life but I want to actively post here again; I've just been lurking for the last, like, four weeks.

    CS/Q: Nope.
  • @mokamonster wow congratulations! That looks super nice! And I’m envious of all the bathrooms!!! I’m with you on the “hating my job” front. I only stay for the discounted health care for my pets. And even that is seeming not worth it anymore. I hope you get ku’ed ver very quickly so you an get out of there and still reap the benefits. It’s tough working with idiots.

@beakay8 totally looks like a week! Especially my pewny little one. Maybe that’s why I want to get it a friend 🤣 but I’m waiting for my dad to go in the garden and pull it out because he thinks it’s a weed.
  • @beakay8 I, for one, welcome all lurkers. :) Hopefully your life gets less busy soon and we'll see more of you!

  • @paytonpedro I know! So many bathrooms so we're thinking to make the small one a laundry room and made the big bathro a guest bath. Everyday I question if the benefits are worth staying but can't leave until at least I find a new job!

@acleverusername It's really hard, especually when you live in a costal city with a ton of relitives that love force-feeding you! I also have a crazy list! Dairy products, limited meat, basically anything and everything with iodine. The hardest is soy because I love soy milk! So it's basically a ton of homemade veggies and salads haha
