Not to sound like a broken record, but these headaches are on another level. I went about a week without one and then yesterday it started back. I checked my bp and that was fine. I tried 1000mg of tylenol, peppermint oil to my temples, ice packs and even magnesium and nothing worked. I don't know why in the last few weeks they have started back, unless it's stress? I also started adding propel to my water a few weeks ago to try to drink more water, could it be something in that? IDK they usually last about 2 days and if it happens again after stopping anything I think could be causing it, I'm going to call my OB.

  • @chartput I have noticed that even the tiniest bit of stress gives me a headache in pregnancy,  then I'll tense up other areas and then that will prolong my headache.  So it could definitely be stress related. I also get extra sensitive to artificial sweeteners when pregnant and really have to watch what I'm drinking or it will trigger a migraine, so the propel water may be a factor if you are normally sensitive to that.   I'd definitely call the OB and see what you can take.  There are a lot of pregnancy safe preventative meds that should help.  You shouldn't have to be miserable
  • I think it’s a really good idea to call the OB. Maybe you’ll get extra tests done and figure out what’s causing this.
  • @chartput I’ve been placed on amitryptaline for my migraines/headaches - prescribed by my OB, who also cleared it by the maternal fetal medicine office.
  • @chartput so sorry! Give your OB a buzz, a nurse may be able to just call you back w some ideas or an Rx to try from the dr...may not have to go in quite yet for it. Have you tried acupuncture? Its helped me w severe sinus pressure/drainage and headaches that are caused from allergies and weather (pressure changes do me in!!!)
  • @chartput I had a massage for migraines the other day then I figured out it's my splenius capitis muscle and found stretches.
  • @chartput as @kim1228 mentioned, acupressure/puncture should help. It really helped me with the nausea and headache the first few days. Do find a practioner who is aware of pregnancy related points.

I just had my first Charlie’s horse episode this pregnancy. They were such a menace last pregnancy and I was almost starting to feel lucky this time.
  • Thanks everyone for all the good advice. I have thought of acupuncture and massage. I had acupuncture done for my migraines back in the day and it helped. Thankfully the headache didnt last into today. Ive stopped the propel to see if this is the cause. My OB's office is the worst to try to get ahold of anyone, so still waiting for a call back.

I had these last time too. Have you tried sleeping with the bar of soap in your bed? I know it sounds preposterous and unscientific, but somehow it seems to work. Placebo effect maybe.
  • @jackie_dunny +1 for insomnia.

@RoseShadow873 soap for my Charlie horse? It should go under my head pillow, or my leg pillow? I’m willing to give placebo a go.

Near your legs. Some people put it under the sheet at the bottom. I had one in a mesh bag toward the bottom of the bed.
  • Has anyone had random pain happening in their pubic area? I've experienced the lower back pain already but the random "pings" of pain in what feels like my labia majora is new...I am 19+5, so it makes sense for my bones in that area to start moving but yeesh...

@chartput It might be the propel. I have noticed that if I add certain things to my water to help with hydration, I will start getting headaches...almost like it has the opposite effect. -_-  Instead of adding things to my water, I just started drinking herbal tea. It really helps with switching up the taste and I noticed that I do drink more now. If anything, I hope your OB can tell you something!!
  • @enchu37 I've definitely been getting the groin/crotch pings randomly the last week or so. Not looking forward to that getting worse 😆
  • @enchu37 It’s probably too early for lightening crotch, but there is SO MUCH more blood in your nether regions than normal. Every time I orgasm, my labia feels swollen and throbs 😬
  • I can finally walk without constant pain, not so much bend over or twist and bend but my back isn't constantly on fire. My coworkers still think it walk funny because I walk stiff but I'm much faster and was able to help with boosting smaller patients.
  • Does anyone else's gums bleed like crazy? Mine are INSANE when I floss. I have adult braces (urgh can't wait to get these damn things off - one more month) and I need to floss but I just end up looking like a vampire who's claimed a recent victim. Does this get any better??
  • @jenharvey84 I don’t have this but I know it’s common to have bleeding/sensitive gums in pregnancy. When’s the next time you see your orthopaedist? Maybe ask them or make a dentist appointment just to make sure all is well (which I’m sure it is)

  • @jenharvey84 Yep! It’s very common (happened to me for both pregnancies). I had my bi-annual cleaning two weeks ago and told the dentist I’m not flossing every day because of it and he said that’s fine 😂
  • @jenharvey84 Yep. All that increased blood flow can go to our gums too! I have that now and had it with my first pregnancy too. In fact, even at my appointment a few months postpartum my dentist said my gums were still swollen from pregnancy. By my next dentist appointment, 6 months after that, things seemed to have returned to normal.

@jenharvey84 I use periomed during pregnancy and it does wonders.

also, was it mayoduck that’s been having the hip pain? I’ve never experienced it before in pregnancy, but it is awful right now!
  • @doodleoodle🙋‍♀️Yes, I believe I've been complaining about that off and on...😆 Hip pain since the final weeks of the first trimester. Sorry you're feeling it too. That absurdly large u-shaped pregnancy pillow is the only way I can make it tolerable.
  • Thanks for the advice and reassurance @mayoduck @doodleoodle @sliztee @jackie_dunny ❤️❤️❤️
