How are you feeling?: I still feel fine, some small waves of nausea pop up now and then but still been really lucky so far. The bloat is there but I can still wear my jeans most day and just unbuttoned them on my drive home.
Rants/Raves: We booked a flight home months ago. And of course, I'm supposed to have an 8-week appointment with my RE. I've called each day this week to see if there was a cancellation for tomorrow before we leave on Saturday but there isn't. So we are going on our trip, we are telling my parents and we hope everything is fine with this LO. Rave is obviously that we are going on vacation!!

GTKY: What's one of your favorite quotes? I love quotes, which is why I picked the question. I'm not sure it's my favorite but the one that popped into my head today is: “How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.”– Anne Frank
Upcoming appointments: I'm doing my NIPT blood draw next Tuesday, and then my NT scan on 7/2
How are you feeling?: Generally better than the past few weeks, but still, I'm feeling pretty awful at night. At least the nausea isn't really showing itself until after dinner now. I've had naps the past couple of days and that's been nice.
Rants/Raves: I'm going out of town for the weekend with my husband to some resort centered around wine. Boo. I mean, I'm excited to relax by the pool (I bought three books for the occasion, haha) but I'm really going to want wine.
Questions: Nope
GTKY: What's one of your favorite quotes? I'm not a big quote person, but one comes to mind, it's kinda random. I used to teach history and WWII was my favorite, and this quote by Churchill just sounds cool, and it not only sums up the Battle of Britain really well, but I think the entire war as well: "Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few."
Upcoming appt: Just had my first meeting with my OB today. It went well- I really like her! Next one will be the the nuchal scan in a few weeks.
How am I feeling: Tired and hungry!
Rants: Ugh. I lost my job and applied for unemployment and since March it’s been frozen bc California can’t process the new federal extensions. Literally 3 full days calling and calling. I’m actively interviewing (I do corporate finance) and hopefully will have a new job soon. But holy crap- a 3 month delay is insane! And then after being on hold for an hour the call just drops bc the call volume is so high.
Questions: None
Favorite Quote: “Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face” - Mike Tyson. I say this one too much 🤣
How are you feeling?: Less nauseated? I think? 😂😫😭
Rants/Raves: Rant - My emotions are all over the place...crying, insanely angry, hopeless, laughing. I'm a mess! Rave - lime tortilla chips are AMAZING!
Questions: Nope
GTKY: What's one of your favorite quotes "I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn’t say any other way – things I had no words for." – Georgia O’Keefe Artist over here! 🎨💛
Upcoming appointments: I just had my first trimester NT ultrasound and NIPT blood draw today.. a little early but we’re going to be moving this weekend so this is what worked.
How are you feeling?: Moody and tired. And some lower back pain but doing okay.
Rants/Raves: Rant- we are moving half way across the country this weekend and my husband has not had much urgency to get stuff organized for the move.. we’re getting there but it’s been a super stressful week.
Questions: So nuchal translucency came back borderline elevated today at 3 mm (which is 99%ile for current GA).. praying the NIPT comes back okay. Do others have experience with this and end up having healthy babies? I’m super emotional today.
GTKY: What's one of your favorite quotes? “If you want to change the world, go home and love your family.” -Mother Teresa
Upcoming appointments: July 12 for NT scan/NIPT bloodwork
How are you feeling?: Bloated and crampy. Very tired. I'm still dealing with food aversions/queasiness but not as bad as it was.
Rants/Raves: Raves is that today is my Friday. Hooray for 3 day weekends.
Questions: I'm finding I have some small, jelly-like light brown discharge when I do more strenuous activity than I usually do. I admit I'm not as active as I should be, and even taking a brief walk triggers this. Everything I read online says it's pretty normal, but has this happened to anyone else?
GTKY: What's one of your favorite quotes? “Life begins at the end of your comfort zone." - Neale Donald Walsch
How are you feeling?: Starting to feel better and getting more energy. Appetite is still here and there, but less nausea overall.
Rants/Raves: Rave- I've made a lot of progress on cleaning out the nursery and purging things we no longer need. I'm actually glad we decided to find out the baby's sex because I was able to go through all of our baby clothes and determine what to keep and what to get rid of. I have 3 big totes of stuff for a garage sale.
Rant- apparently I didn't save any of my maternity clothes aside from a couple bras and 2 dresses. 🤦🏻♀️
Questions: I never had an NT scan with my 1st (insurance didn't cover it). My doctor hasn't mentioned anything about it to me, but I'm now AMA for this pregnancy. From what I've read it needs to be done by 13 (maybe 14? weeks). I have an appointment next Wed when I'll be 12w4d. I've debating whether I should call my OB and ask if they can/should add it to my appointment? My NIPT test came back negative, but I know the NT scan can identify other problems that the NIPT doesn't. Should I call? Or wait and ask about it at my appointment?
GTKY: What's one of your favorite quotes? Don't wish for it, work for it.
Upcoming appointments: Monday June 21st last blood work with fertility, Friday June 25th 12 week ultrasound
How are you feeling?: Since 9 weeks my nausea went down. This week it does go to mild nausea but overall it is manageable. I was worried that my symptoms went way down. But still boobs are tender, some white discharge, and moodiness that is driving the household crazy
Rants/Raves: I am worried about leaving the fertility clinic all together since it is such a comfort. My new OBGYN kept saying how I was high risk 500 times during my apt which made me annoyed... but least she ran tests and was open to hearing what I want.

@magalina_h I would contact your doctor ASAP to get a referral for the NT (if you need one). I had my first appt with the OB at 10 weeks and she said to call Stanford (they don’t do the NT at my regular doctor’s office, there are a couple places nearby that do them, so I would check with your doctor to see what your situation is). I called Stanford that day, and they only had a handful of appointments available during the appropriate window of time. I would hate if you waited and appointments were full and you missed the window of opportunity.
@magdalina.h I believe the cut off for that first trimester anatomy US is 13w6d.. it can be helpful additional info to combine w the NIPT to determine risks for chromosomal abnormalities, but the NIPT has such a high negative predictive value that it’s very reassuring even without the ultrasound for those big chromosomal abnormalities. Another consideration w high NT is congenital heart disease which will likely be screened for later w a fetal echo anyway. So I think you could go either way but would also be reasonable to discuss risks/ benefits at this upcoming appt and schedule for the following week if you decide to it. That’s my thoughts after discussing my findings w genetics today.. Hope that helps.

@laurabridget I'm totally on the 2pm nap schedule too! I was visiting with my parents yesterday, looked at my watch, and said "well, I need to go now if I'm going to make it home by 2 so I can sleep!" And I LOVE jalapeño margaritas!

I'm 9w/6d (due Jan 16) Next appt for pregnancy is July 7th for OB intakeintake, then 12th for my AMA US. Before that though, I'm seeing my functional doctor on June 25th to review my latest big blood panel. I've been trying to work on my gut health and I'm hoping to get a 2 year game-plan from her so I can just focus on this 2nd pregnancy. Not looking forward to the conversation of "thanks for your help, but I can't handle this many appointments.. see you in two years 😂"). Feeling ok. I need to exercise more regularly as I'm stressed at work, but also am just tired at the end of the day. I'm quite hungry and am worried I'm gaining too much weight. We've been lazy at cooking and have been eating out more. Rant: everyone is talking about vacation and I'm not good at planning those.. so I'm not sure it's going to happen. My husband never seems to want to. He is slammed at work and regrets even taking a day off 🤦. Q: Anyone take a vacation by themselves? Sounds so lame. Quotes: I'm not a quotes person either.. but I think Kimi Raikkonen is so funny since he doesn't say much& doesn't like his engineers talking much on the radio.. "Just leave me alone, I know what I am doing!”
@Limes030 I’ve never taken a vacation alone, but I’d do a weekend alone for sure. Maybe somewhere kinda close, where I could sit at the pool or beach all day and read and relax.
