  • @b_1029 isn't breakfast the most amazing food? Haha I'd also pass on the crepes since I've only had it a few times in my life but they are REALLY good!

French toast stays forever and pancakes and waffles are even for me. I need to have a taste for them to want them. French toast I never say no to. I'm a big fan of cinnamon 😋

I don’t like pancakes unless they are crepe style so crepes can stay and pancakes can take a hike ✌🏻

    [Deleted User]acleverusernameoptimistgardener
  • Byeeeee pancakes! Gimme crepes all day!
    bows22[Deleted User]
  • I’m way more of a savory person in general so I’d ditch all of these for some hash browns, eggs and hash. But out of these, bye crepes.
    fantasyflyteoptimistgardener
  • @paytonpedro hash browns are the best potato form IMO

  • I’m with @bows22 and @fameonmain2, buh-bye to the pancakes!

When I lived in New Orleans one of my favorite restaurants (Crepe Nanou) had a menu that was half savory crepes and half sweet. Soooooo good.

    keikilovefameonmain2
  • Savory crepes are the best! But I do like a good dessert one with Grand Marnier drizzle 😋
    rachelredhead
  • Crepes can go because I've never had them and I love the other 3. I want breakfast out somewhere now lol.

Ugh, this is making me hungry. @fantasyflyte you need to try crepes sometime! They're delicious.

I like all four, but I'd have to say French toast can go.

I wouldn't turn any of these down, but I'd probably drop french toast. I don't have them that often, but crepes (both sweet and savory) are my fave!

I only like savoury crepes but even then, I'd still probably take the other 3 over a crepe.

There's a crepe place on the strip in Vegas (I want to say it's somewhere in the shops around the Paris casino?) that makes the most incredible savoury crepes.

  • Hmmm I’ll kick pancakes out it’s basically a thick crepe that tastes like a waffle
    [Deleted User]optimistgardener
  • What would go in a savory crepe? I'm so used to sweet fillings (same with pie!). Is my American-ness showing? 😆

I have had savory pierogis that were DELISH. It made my Polish heart dance lol. They were breakfast ones too so bonus points!

We did this exact question at work as an icebreaker a few months ago and it got HEATED! But pancakes would have to go for me. Mostly because when I try to cook them at home they never come out well.

@rachelredhead I used to live in NOLA as well and I LOVED Crepe Nanou! It's so good! And in such close proximity to two of my other favorite spots (Creole Creamery and St. James Cheese Company). I miss New Orleans food so much!

    rachelredhead[Deleted User]
  • @trails15 I have not been able to replicate my mom's pancakes that are hands down the best pancakes in the world. They were always so perfectly fluffy. Mine never rise up as well as her's once they get flipped over. Not sure if it's the consistency of my batter or the length of time I wait before flipping them to the other side.

Do we at least all agree that breakfast food is the best food?

  • @trails15 I totally cannot cook pancakes either!! I’ve only done it twice in my life and they weren’t great. Luckily for me, my husband makes great pancakes!
    [Deleted User]trails15
  • joining the anti-pancake brigade here, even though i do love pancakes and might even eat them more frequently than the other things on the list. i occasionally love a sweet breakfast but mostly like savory better. and waffles, crepes, and french toast all offer opportunity for exploring either the sweet or savory end of the spectrum. pancakes on the other hand... they are wonderful syrup sponges, but if i'm going to look for a syrup vehicle, what better than the crunchy deep pockets on the surface of a waffle.
I am doing this alone. Had my left ovary and fallopian tube removed due to cyst/necrosis just after birth. Right ovary and fallopian tube still purport to function.
Began TTC in Aug '18 @ age 36
5 or 6 (or 7?!) cycles using frozen donor sperm, ICI (turkey baster method). All BFN
    Mar-Jun '19 IUIs, all BFN
Began process of referral for RE in spring of '19, blood tests confirm low AMH (.54) but all else is good.
May '19 HSG shows open tube, but ultrasound suggests fibroids
MRI in June '19 confirms two large fibroids, one growing through wall of uterus
In June '19 I move from California to Oregon, disrupting my insurance, referrals, etc. 5 months spent piecing it all back together.
Nov. '19 attempted myomectomy (vaginal approach) failed. 2nd surgery using laparoscopic method in Jan '20 is successful.
April '20 --> June '20, natural IUIs, all BFN.
July? saline ultrasound and bubble test demonstrate open tube
July '20 clomid cycle cancelled for thin lining
Aug-Oct, 3 femara cycles, all BFN
Get an RE referral. While waiting to set up an appointment Nov-Jan, I continue with natural cycles and ICI, using a known donor, BFN...
Jan '21 [fertility clinic], more bloodwork, AMH is worse (.36) but other numbers are fine-ish. hysteroscopy all good. "looks cozy!" says the RE.
Feb '21, injectables (menopur, novarel), iui, BFN (doc said the frozen donor sperm sample had the "best numbers she'd ever seen!")
Mar '21, injectables, iui cancelled due to lack of follicles.
May '21, first IVF round cancelled due to cyst.
    July '21 IVF: 8 eggs retrieved, 7 mature, 5 fertilize, 4 made it to blast (1 was a slow-growing day 6 blast). 3 are 4AB, 1 is 4BB. Now waiting for PGT-A.
