This board is so quiet compared to my last BMBs. I've been MIA between vacations and sick kids. The bump is not mobile friendly and I don't get on my computer a ton especially with school being out. I know it's too soon, but once we all know each other better, I'm looking forward to hopefully moving to facebook and being able to talk to you ladies easier/more.

Yeah it has been awfully quiet. I guess everyone is busy with life and things. I noticed the pandemic caused my last BMB to really lose steam for some reason, I wonder if this is also pandemic related?
I have been trying to tame my little monster, but she is truly a force to be reckoned with. I am sure I'll be grateful for that later, but as a 2.5 year old she is wearing me down. Not much else happening in my corner of the world. Excited for vacation in 2 weeks!
It is quiet but I don't feel as bad when I look and see I'm not the only one busy haha! I think with summer starting, plus the pandemic, things are slowly (at least in Canada) getting back to normal so people are outside and off their phones.
I just signed DS up for soccer/tball with DH this summer. Also when we have to do our 2 week quarantine next week when we move, I'm thinking of potty training DS. He is 26 months and I tried about a month ago and he so wasn't ready. Now that we literally have to stay in the house though, I may try again.
I'm sooo looking forward to Facebook and message groups. So much easier!
Edited because I forgot something. I had my 16 week appointment yesterday and heard the heartbeat. 155 and beating strong. I was worried because I couldn't find it on my at home doppler but feel better now 💜
We had my sons 11th birthday party Saturday and yesterday was his actual birthday. We're busy with ball games this week, my son has one tonight and tomorrow. Then Thursday a minor league game for my husband's work. I'm secretly hoping it's an air conditioned suite so I'm not stuck out in the heat. 🤣 I can't wait for my son to be done with ball so we can focus on fun things and not planning around his games!
@kaitcrystalline- yay for hearing the HB! So reassuring. I have not great luck doing the Doppler on myself, I need my husband to do it for me haha.
I agree it’s been quiet! It’s hard during the busy summer and back to work and feeling rough during the first tri. I think we have a lot of PgAL too and sometimes talking about baby early on just gives so much anxiety. I can’t wait did Facebook either!! Having a group is sooo nice and easy to keep up with daily random threads and such! Maybe we can make the move sooner than later!

@JamieH2000 I think you’re right with us having a lot of PGAL ladies, I feel the same way too. I feel like every time I start to allow myself to feel excited something knocks me down (ie: spotting, cramps, seeing something triggering on social media). I also wouldn’t be opposed to moving to FB sooner rather than later!
@kaitcrystalline oh yay!! I am so happy to hear that your appt went well and you got to hear your little peanut’s heartbeat!
@scaredunprepared I was wondering if the pandemic was playing a role in this (quiet) too! My last BMB was so busy I couldn’t keep up most of the time haha.
A big part for me has been how rough I've been feeling, and it's kept me from engaging a lot of places. But I love my last BMB, and I agree that Facebook is way easier. I'm down for moving sooner rather than later.
@scaredunprepared My daughter will be 3 in August, and I'm about to lose my mind with her. I love her, but the attitude is out of control. I'm hopeful that by the time this baby is here she's better, but I'm not holding my breath.
Harvest has started here. I’m stressing about finding babysitters after my 8-5 babysitters. And my house work just builds and builds and I have little time to do it all. What I need is a nanny. One that can cook clean and take care of my kids 😂.
Also, bedtime has become a complete disaster lately. I have a 3 and 5 yr old and getting them to listen just seems impossible. DH and I decided to try a sticker chart last night. It worked well for night number one, but we will see how long that lasts.
If we try to get them down earlier, they just fight us longer it seems. Super frustrating.
@savedbygrace1213 wow that sounds exhausting. My sister does the sticker chart with her 4 and 3 year old and it seems to be working. Hoping it works for you too!
@mockingjay1 I had the same thought. This BMB is not nearly as active as my last two. I posted yesterday and came back to check in and no one had posted, so naturally I think everyone hates me or has already migrated to FB. Ha.
I think this board just has relatively fewer posters, plus the vast majority of us seem to be second (or third or fourth..) time parents so maybe we don’t have as much time as a FTM? At any rate, you all seem like a friendly and chill bunch so I’m happy about that!
Random question- when you move suddenly and feel a sharp pain kind of like your guts will fall out for a few seconds is that round ligament pain? Or something else (like muscle separation issues)?
@rgn12- I think it’s RLP too. I’ve had it a few times and freaks me out so much!
@PYLWhammy- yes I agree! Seems like most of us are STM or more. So much less time. I miss the amazing freedom and downtime of my first pregnancy! But i agree, I think I everyone is nice ans chill which is key!

I definitely felt like this at the beginning - that I would write and then no one really responded. Doesn't help with my time difference that I always see quite a few posts in the morning but always have to wait til the next day to see if someone responds hehe. But definitely everyone is chill and it does make it more exciting when there is an update hehe.
Being a FTM, I did notice that a lot of you are having your second, third+ babies that I figured it is probably a lot different at the moment for you. I was surprised so many people use this site after first, cause I thought was more to put me at ease for the "is this normal?" "What about this?" Stages..though after reading lots of comments, I am realizing that doesn't change after first child... I assume just nature of pregnancy. Plus you also have the being pregnant while raising kids which I can imagine is also nice to hear from others.
I am totally up for a facebook group though I will probably not be able to join for awhile as I have still not told my friends and family. I am waiting to see if there is a possibility to do so in person this Summer though with travelling and not fully vaccinated (one shot... when I didnt realize I was pregnant - I am one ot those and living in country that currently wont vaccinate pregnant women) I am just trying to figure out if I can wait that long (end of july...August) to tell my family and friends back home. I would love to hudt show up obviously pregnant...but at same time..I am kind of just wanting to tell the world now lol. Anyways, if you guys decide a facebook group no worries, I will join when I can afterwards.
Oh and I am glad about this RLP convo cause I definitely feel a lot and then I worry if I twisted weird..etc. I wish they created an app on the phone for like a permi ultrasound (ok but something not harmful to body lol) and could just check in whenever. Like ohh baby is sleeping... etc. Lol. Because after my ultrasound I am just so relieved and I want that feeling to last...and I thought it would now that I am 12 weeks but you constantly still question everything. Atleast I can pay 50 dollars and get another ultrasound in 3.5 weeks from now and i already had 2 (one at 7 weeks and one last week). Then I get one 4 weeks later... and then not again til near the end I think. Does everyone else have appts every 4 weeks?? They have me already booked every 4 weeks from now until closer to due date when it will even be more often. I may need to ask them to postpone one or push it to a 6 week break if possible if i do decide to go home for summer.
@j-to-the-amie my appts are every four weeks too, but sometimes when I go they literally just do vitals, check my urine, and listen with the doppler. And random labs and such. I won’t get another u/s until 20 weeks (last one at 8) and that’ll be the last one unless I have problems. Kind of nerve racking! I might do one of the boutique places just to see her again sometime early in the third trimester.
@eggsbene42@JamieH2000 thank you!! This is more reassuring. It’s crazy how different pregnancies are, I have never experienced this before!
I agree having kids at home makes it harder to get on as often especially with as unfriendly as the mobile app is. I think my first BMB was super active because it was almost entirely FTMs. My second less so because it was mostly STMs+. I get the PGAL brain too. I'm 13 weeks, so I'm feeling more confident since my losses were before 10 weeks. We still haven't told many people outside close friends and immediate family. And the people that see me in person regularly because I already look 16-20 weeks pregnant haha. We'll probably announce around 16 weeks on fb and to extended family. I'm anxiously awaiting my NIPT results from yesterday.
@scaredunprepared - where are you guys going for vacay? My 2.5 year old (boy) is also very difficult. So much harder than my 6 year old was.
@rgn12 - yep, sounds like RLP. I have to try and remember no sudden movements or getting up quickly.
@j-to-the-amie - every 4 weeks until 28 weeks, then every 2 weeks until 36 (I think) weeks, then weekly until birth
My computer is also dying which makes it hard to get on. I'm waiting for the new macbook pros to come out and hoping this one will last. It's a 2012 and I think the motherboard is dying.

@mockingjay1 fingers crossed for good NIPT results! My daughter and I are headed to VA with 2 other moms plus kids from my first BMB. We get together virtually every wednesday night, so it will be amazing to finally get together in person and let the kids play!
@mockingjay1 I also wonder since mobile sucks for a lot of people haha. My last BMB was slow starting but I feel like it picked up when everyone hit 2nd tri so hopefully that happens!
@j-to-the-amie The Bump has great forums and people! I never really left. I was on here when we were trying to get pregnant and met a lot of awesome ladies along the way, some groups are private, and some moved to Facebook! It's really nice to have those who are in the thick of it with you! A lot of groups don't go to Facebook until near the end. Seems like everyone moves to a private group first to kind of weed out creepers. My last BMB ended up not all moving to Facebook since a lot of them didn't feel comfortable which was sad to not get updates! In regards to the questioning everything - I think once baby starts moving and grooving it all gets less stressful! Sorry for the book LOL.
@scaredunprepared That is so cool you are able to meet in real life! Enjoy!!!
@scaredunprepared have a great time! I've met some of the moms from my daughter's BMB and it is always so fun! We've even met up sans children (which is even more fun! )
@scaredunprepared - thank you! Oh that sounds like so much fun! Enjoy!
@brookert615 - true. I think things pick up a little more once people know what they are having and can feel baby moving and start nursery decorating etc.
Ugh y'all we're a mess over here. DS1 had a mild rash Sunday morning that got a lot worse Monday morning that then got even worse Tuesday morning to the point his face neck and ear were swollen and red along with a rash other places on his body. We have no idea what he reacted to but he's on high dose steroids (today is day 3) and it's definitelyt getting better but still he has a rash and is slightly swollen. Now I have hives in 7 different spots 3 of which are pretty bad. Hoping zyrtec, claritin, benadryl, and cold packs will take care of it and that I won't need steroids too. So far today it's only continued to get worse. I'm so tired from being up all night itching.

@mockingjay1 I hate hives so much! I hope you figure it out and get some relief. Maybe calamine lotion for the itching. Ice packs definitely help. After DS was born I become allergic to everything and broke out in hives all over my face often. I'm finding during this pregnancy if I get a scratch I'm automatically itchy. I hope you guys figure it out. The worst is not knowing the cause.
Well we fly to Nova Scotia today and get to reunite with DH. Of course DS is cutting his two year molars and has a runny nose and I'm nervous they are going to kick us off the plane 😅 it will all be fine...it has to be. Please send me good vibes and prayers!
@mockingjay1 ugh, that sounds miserable. Hopefully it clears up soon!
I finally put maternity pants on this morning for the first time. Best decision ever. Now I need to go dig out my maternity totes so I have more than one pair! I had been so uncomfortable in my pants(even with the rubber band trick) especially after lunch!
Fav workout leggings anyone? I refuse for the most part to purchase maternity clothes, but last time splurged on a really nice pair of black maternity leggings that I could workout and lounge in and they were awesome. Since it’s been awhile I was wondering if anyone has a brand they love or have heard good things about.
