This is random and probably hard to follow but what the heck. I got right ear re-pierced a few weeks ago because it was super uneven from my left piercing (I got them done originally when I was 12). Well out of habit the lady put a new earring in my left ear too. The type with the wide nailhead(?) back. I couldn't figure out how to take it out, so I figured I'd just take it out when my right ear healed. It caught on something last night and freaking ripped through my ear. I put a new earring in and the hole seems a bit lower now (though maybe it is my head). So I guess getting my right ear re-pierced was all for nothing .
OMG, it might as well be effing Monday. Guys, I just spoke to the MOST RUDE contractor (plumber) ever. I basically had to tell him that we was being rude and to shove it. Let me tell you about it (also, I'm PMSing, and about to start injecting myself with oodles of hormones, so I am not having a good day).
So, a few weeks ago I posted how our landlord came over and tried to fix our water filter in the kitchen and ended up breaking it instead (something he'd apparently done every year when he used to live here, but hey... it's been 9 years since he's lived here). And he also broke our hose when he tried to detail it to bleed our hot water tank of sediment (he then went back to his house and got another house, realizing that it's what he'd used to do.) But the hose he tried to detach just kept on leaking. Anyway, then he arranged a plumber to come and fix the things he couldn't fix. Well, let me tell you, from the moment I called the plumber, I got a really bad vibe from him. My landlord had "prepped" the call, but when I called him, he didn't seem to know what I was talking about. Then he very curtly told me that he was driving. I asked him if I could text him the information. By next day, I hadn't heard back from him, so I called him again. This time, it seemed like he had remembered. We made plans for him to come today between 9-10. Well, apparently that means different things to different people.
I call him at 9:30, and say "I had it written down that you'll be coming by between 9-10" His reply: "Yeah, is it 10 o'clock yet?"... Huh? Really? When I tried to explain to him that I thought he'd be here for 9am, until 10am, he repeated "is it 10 yet?" and then "how can it take 1 hour to do the work? you have 4 things that need fixing."
It gets better. This guy is based out of - let's call it Plumberville; it's a 15-min drive from our house (I know because I go there all the time to do groceries). We live on street name "Jane"* and apparently there's a street named "Jayne" in Plumberville. So, while I'm on the call with him (he's obviously driving), he's saying... I see # 921, # 927 but not # 923* (our house number). At which point, I'm like... "Are you sure you're in the right part of town?" I proceed to spell our street name. And he's like "in San Francisco?" And I'm like, yep. And then he's like "Well, your landlord didn't tell me that it was in SF and I'm based in Plumberville." And I reply: "but I texted you our address..."
At which point re-iterates again that "it's not 10am yet and that I'll be there shortly". At that point, I just lose it and I'm like "you know what, forget. You are being very rude, and I'm just going to get Landlord to handle this, either with you or someone else.
I then get on the phone with my Landlord, who says (about the address mistake) that "that's strange; when I told him the address, he asked... 'is that in Plumberville'? and and I said 'no, it's in San Francisco, and you've been to the house twice before.'"
Anyway, I told my landlord that he can do whatever he wants, but I don't want to deal with this guy. At this point, he said that he probably should be there for the repairs regardless, and that he'll try calling Plumberville guy again since he's had such good experience with him in the past (and he's also much cheaper than the company he uses for his own house.)

@acleverusername wow that was so rude of him (the plumber)! There is definitely a polite way to say that the 9-10 was a window of arrival (if that's what it was) and then to explain the repairs would take a bit longer. What an ass!
I need to complain to more people than just my coworkers about this because UGH . This is why I hate talking with our customers.
So we manufacture a product. We purchase a component for said product from another manufacturer. This purchased component contains a number of screws. Every so often a screw gets lost or comes loose in transit so we get asked by a customer either for the screw itself or the component so that they can just steal the screws off it. Well this particular customer needs these screws like, yesterday, so we can't just ship them the component as that will take a few days. I have had 2 people call on the same issue and they're asking me for the exact screw that's used. It's length, thread count, and size. The first guy was reasonable. I suggested going to the hardware store but that wouldn't be fast enough I guess. In the end he decided he'd check their inventory to see if he had another one of our products that uses this same component and steal the screws off it to satisfy this customer. A little while later I'm now talking to some lady about this and because I'm like "wtf I just talked to somebody about all this. I don't f*cking know all the specifics about this screw" I'm a bit short with her. Like lady, just because you ask more times and tell me that we're supposed to have this information for regulations/audits does not make that information just magically appear. Why in the world would we have this information if it's not even something we make? It's like asking a car manufacturer for a detail about the engine that goes in your vehicle. They don't know! They just buy the engine!
