Re: Weekly Symptoms 6/7

  • Hi!
    I'm 18+1
The biggest change I have noticed in the past couple days has been that every time I eat a normal-sized meal, it's wayyy too much. My stomach gets SO tight and SO uncomfortable. I'm going to try and eat smaller portions and see if that helps. I am so annoyed by this because I finally have my appetite back and I'm so hungry lately. *grumble grumble sigh* We are also going through a growth spurt, so all of everything is growing again. I have not yet had the mythical surge of energy that you get in your 2nd trimester. Hope everyone is well!

    Cheers

15w tomorrow. Feel like I'm still in the 1st trimester, but thats par for the course w me- I know I won't get better till 20ish weeks. So tired and sick are my symptoms still. Taking care of 3 littles (5,3,1.5) while being exhausted and sick in the Charleston heat is rough though! We basically live at the pool or beach to cool off and get them to burn some energy.  Ready for this month to fly by!!! Love babies, hate pregnancy lolll

Edit to add something POSITIVE  lol! My excessive saliva (yes, I know I know 😒🤤) has almost gone away!!! Been getting acupuncture for allllll the things and I think its helped!
  • @enchu37 I'm the same way! I feel like I can't eat nearly as much as I used to. I get full so fast. Thats probably a good thing for me though because I gained about 15 lbs in the first trimester and my OB wants me to maintain my weight until later on than pregnancy. (insert eye roll here)
  • 15 weeks tomorrow. Heartburn can kick rocks right now, probably dehydrated from not being able to drink water so having a Gatorade half way through the day.  I had my second migraine in the past 3 weeks, woke me from sleep. Always unilateral, throbbing and cause my right eye to be blurry. And thanks to hormones an old work injury where I rotated my pelvis and was in therapy for months is flailing up.

On the plus side my breasts don't hurt when I get up and I can make it through over 1.5 shifts before I'm tired.
  • 16 weeks Wednesday. I'm getting some energy back but I've noticed the same as @chartput and @enchu37 about how much I eat. My stomach gets tight and bloated. I would like to slow down a bit since I also gained 18lb so far.  I didn't realize how much of a self-esteem hit I would have with gaining weight during pregnancy. I know its normal and I'm embracing some of it (the healthy appetite 😉) but I spent so long trying to get healthy then gained some during covid. So since I wasn't able to get back down before getting pregnant, I am having some "moments" with my thighs, lol!!

Still get the heartburn but not as bad or frequently. I'm sure it will come back with a vengeance later though. Cheers to you all and I'm happy to see most everyone is feeling a little bit better!

heartburn ❤️‍🔥 (didn’t know there was an emoji lol) ugh, it won’t let up and give me a break all day today! I also think I’ve got slight leg cramps. Other than that, I really can’t complain! Think I’m starting to feel baby move more frequently but they’re still “…was that?” moments

  • Yeah the heartburn only gets worse in the 3rd trimester as baby takes up SO much room! I'm legit only able to have milkshakes for dinner the whole 3rd trimester my last 3 babies.. people joke and say "oh poor you, only milkshakes!" But y'all,  it does get old, esp when my family eats a nice dinner I prepared! Small, frequent meals and sleeping upright helps too 😴

I had a week of feeling pretty okay, but then today I vomited and now I just have general nausea. The migraines seem to have calmed down, but I am so scared they will come back. I am definitely having some of the "getting full quick" feelings, as I can feel almost uncomfortably full half way through a meal. I'm trying to eat smaller amounts and slower so I realise I am full before it gets too much.

    18+3

Ugh, heart palpitations.  I got them with DS too, but unfortunately woke up to it happening again so it means I get to wear a 24 hr holter monitor again.  Blegh

Edit: just kidding it is a 7 day monitor lol
  • @jenharvey84 the same thing was happening to me...hopefully it lets up soon! 🤞🏻🤞🏻 If you like ginger, there's ginger candy with lychee that saved me. And peppermint. The peppermint really helps calm your stomach. You could try to eat ice cream? That's the only thing I could really stomach when nauseous, like your talking about.
As for the migraines, drink a ton of fluid. Herbal tea, water, whatever you can. Adding Liquid IV/drip drop/skratch to your water helps with electrolytes and hydration....and boring water. I have the getting full quick too...it's frustrating because I'm so hungry. Try eating smaller snacks and 'meals' through out the day...it helps when you actually sit down to eat, you're not starving, so you eat slower. I hope some of this helps momma! Hang in there.
