How far along/EDD? 3w5d / Feb 9, 2022<div>How are you feeling this week? Excited! I have been feeling really good and happy and calm ever since transfer, it's been great. Some mild cramping here and there and shortness of breath, (and crankiness lol) but really I cannot complain. I'm over the moon!
</div><div>Rants/Raves? Questions? I called and the nurse was able to move my betas up to Tues / Thurs, so I'm eager to find out that number ASAP! They want to see 50+.</div><div>Upcoming appointments? Tomorrow, Thursday, and maybe Saturday for labs. Not sure yet when my first scan will be...
</div><div>GTKY: Ah! I asked because we are going through this right now. The 9mo is getting to be Very mobile, and she's currently sleeping sidecarred next to our bed. The toddler is in the adjacent room in a toddler bed, but we are thinking of moving her up to a twin, 9m baby girl into the same room, and convert the toddler bed to a full size crib for her. DD stayed in our room till 18 or 19 months though, and we love the sidecar setup for baby days, so I'm sad to have to possibly transition so soon... :/</div>
@late_bloomer Thank you so much! Of course I find myself getting nervous all over again leading up to the bloodwork, but overall, I feel really good! And AFY, Eep! You are getting so close!!! Can I ask why they want to move up your section? DD stayed in our room till 18 or 19 months when she moved into a toddler bed in her room, and it worked out great. Meanwhile, this baby is scrambling all over the place and we are thinking we may need to move her into the 4-walled crib much sooner, basically for her safety, because she is trying to crawl out of the sidecar and onto our mattress already, and like, pulling up to stand and trying to fling herself over the little pillow barricade! 😯🤣 So yeah, you can play by ear as you see baby outgrowing the bassinet and how it's all been working for you. Some moms keep the baby to room in longer, some really can't sleep well that way and make the switch sooner. Personally I love having baby right there for early morning changes. You can also bring the PNP into your bedroom and have baby sleeping in that beside your bed if it fits in your space, as a transition to the crib. ;)
Ooh! Pro tip! If you end up doing bottles at all (we nursed as long as we could but I had supply issues both times, so we did combo feeding from about 3 months on) go ahead and make room for a little mini fridge in your room. You won't regret it! I have a little formula station set up right there, and keep milk in the fridge for my toddler, too. Makes it so much easier than going down in the kitchen all the time in the MOTN when everybody is tired, or in the morning while you're getting ready!
@BusinessWife - keep us updated on your numbers. Fingers crossed for today! Thank you for the tips. We are keeping the "nursery" simple now because we are also moving in a few weeks. We did a huge renovation on our house and we thought it would be done before baby came but it's too close. I don't want to bring baby home with a house full of boxes and missing appliances so we are staying in our townhouse with the baby for the first few weeks and will slowly transition into our other home. Luckily my mom is coming for the Summer and my husband is off work all Summer so hopefully we will have enough hands to take care of baby and the move (fingers crossed). As far as my due date moving up, I think it's mainly because of my age (45). The baby is pretty big and they originally scheduled my c-section (due to a prior myomectomy) at 39 weeks. They recently said 38 weeks may be better. My only complications are fibroids, age, and IVF, but I think all 3 are risks for early labor. I think they just want to make sure it's a scheduled c-section and not an emergency.
AFM - First beta came back positive! We are at 53.3, and they want to see over 50. We also moved my beta up a day, so that's part of why it's maybe a bit on the lower side, it's still early. I go back Thursday when they will want to see a 66% increase, and then most likely next Friday 6/11 for our first scan! Eeep!!!
I'm cautiously dipping my toe in over here! I'm a STM and had my 2nd FET in May. It's been a slow start with my betas, but so far LO is chugging along.
<b>Update: </b> Second beta came back...
<div class=" Spoiler">195!!! Yay! We are PREGNANT! Such a relief. Now just to make it till next Friday and our first scan...</div>
EDD: January 29th. (haven't joined the Jan 2022 board yet....just not sure if i'm ready yet) DS came 3 weeks early though so i'm guessing i'll be squarely in january.
@BusinessWife - congratulations on such a strong beta! You're definitely pregnant ❤️.
@blackhottamales - welcome! And I know what you mean about the worry. I just started to accept that a baby is actually coming and I'm just over 2 weeks from birth. It's hard to get past all the doubt that comes from the IVF journey. One thing that helped me was advice from someone on the IVF message boards. She said to just be happy every day that you are pregnant. That helped me reduce the worry. I focused on that day, not the future outcome (which is probably why I'm just wrapping my head around actually having the baby 😂).

@BusinessWife
Great betas!! I know how stressful this transfer must have been and I'm glad to see things going well!
I've been struggling to keep up wtih everyone this past few weeks now that DD is going to all sorts of lessons (that I need to ferry her to and from) and starts summer camp next week.
Fashionably late:
With DD, we had this rose colored idea that she was going to sleep in a bassinet next to our bed for the first 6 months at least. It lasted...maybe a week? She absolutely HATED the bassinet. She likes to have lots of space so she was much more comfortable in her pack n' play and crib. We'll likely try that again and see how it goes.
Major issue w/ baby arrangements: We have a 4 bedroom place (well, 3 bedrooms and 1 spare room from the addition we put on). DD is staying in her room so the only option is to convert DH's office into baby room #2 -- I won't put her in my office (the spare room in the addition) because it has one wall that is just a massive sliding door leading out to our patio. Doesn't seem safe to me, especially because anyone could peek in at her. But moving DH's office is super complicated, sigh.
Had a bit of a scare today -- I had gone into the office to get some forms and left out of the back door. I haven't been at the office much over the past year, but for ages, we had a ramp leading up to the back door rather than steps. They took out the ramp over the past year and put in steps. I made the mistake to skim the forms I was holding rather than paying attention as I left. Unfortunately my auto-pilot still thinks there is a ramp there and I ended up falling down the stairs (about 4 stairs, maybe 3-4 feet high?). I actually basically FLEW like a cartoon character when I fell and skidded for a little bit once I hit the concrete pavement. Fortunately, I just got some big scrapes, road burn and a brusied, swollen knee that I have to stay off of for the next few days. Obviously, I was totally freaking out and called my OB who felt a peace of mind scan would be warranted although it was unlikely there was any harm since I wasn't hurt too badly -- BUT just like with my last OB, his u/s tech doesn't come in on fridays. So I ended up calling my RE and going over there to get a scan. All is well , baby is chugging along, no membrane separation or bleeding detected. I'm still shaking a little bit from the shock of it all though.

I don't blame you for not wanting to use the sliding door room, but that also stinks that it's going to be a whole project moving YH's office. I'm happy with our plan so far to just have the two girls room together, and then we will see what happens down the road. I think they would be good for a while in the toddler bed and twin, and then if it gets to where we are still in the same house and it's time to move the third out of our room, technically we have the mini crib we could detach and put up the fourth wall in the same room with the girls, or maybe we would think about putting DD in her own room by then and having the two younger ones together. BUT! eliminating mommy's spare room is not necessarily a project I'm comfortable taking on right away lol, nor setting a precident that after we move everyone would be in their own rooms. Sigh.

I think the nursery sounds lovely! I kept changing my mind with DD and didn't actually settle on an idea until after she was born. I did a "Paris" themed nursery with major colors being gray and white with a few very dark grey accents (furnishings mostly) --- which sounds incredibly dull but having the muted colors lets the other colors -- art, toys, decor -- really pop. I found a rug with a beautiful abstract design inspired by the Eiffel tower. One trick for wall art which will work for you amazingly since your theme is Pooh Bear -- rather than trying to find individual prints, I bought a hardcover illustrated book or two (Madeline since the drawings are so lovely and feature all sorts of important locales in Paris) and cut out and then framed the illustrations. Now that DD is a 'big girl' I put up princess prints for her and took down the Madeline art, so maybe I'll use that for the new nursery.
If you couldn't tell, I love decorating haha
I understand the excitement of wanting to buy all the things -- one thing I learned with DD though is that babies are extremely picky. The pricey bassinet I got for my shower? She hated it. She only liked the halo swaddle sacks, refused any fabric carrier (and being carried like that in general)....we ended up always buying several different types/brands of an item, found out what she liked and then ordered more. Bibs ended up being a big thing as she got older and she HATED velcro bibs and plastic/rubber bibs. I found some nice soft cotton ones from Aiden and Anais that had a snap in the back so she couldn't rip it off.
I am basically just a swollen mess today from my fall (both knees swollen, right arm which broke my fall scraped up, swollen and sore. The only thing that seems to help are ice packs and I'm trying to keep my feet up per my mom's orders, heh. I told my husband all I can do today is play video games and watch movies with DD haha.

AFM, we had our 6+ week scan this morning, and w<span>e heard the heartbeat! 128 and measuring perfectly on track for 6+5. I wasn't really worried, but it's almost impossible not to catch nerves as you're about to go in... Beta also came back at 53,621. Such a relief!</span>
