OMG Hi guys!!!!!  👋👋 You can just about imagine how sorely I have been looking forward to getting to post here!  We just went through two natural FETs with our last two remaining embryos (with my eggs and DHs surgically retrieved sperm), graded 6CB.  The April transfer failed, but the May transfer seems to be going differently so far... Cautiously posting here, come what may!  ❤️  Yesterday (6dp5dt) was our wedding anniversary, and we were out most of the day, but then I popped a digi later at home that evening.  Best Anniversary present ever!

How far along/EDD? 3w5d / Feb 9, 2022<div>How are you feeling this week? Excited!  I have been feeling really good and happy and calm ever since transfer, it's been great.  Some mild cramping here and there and shortness of breath, (and crankiness lol) but really I cannot complain.  I'm over the moon!

</div><div>Rants/Raves? Questions? I called and the nurse was able to move my betas up to Tues / Thurs, so I'm eager to find out that number ASAP!  They want to see 50+.</div><div>Upcoming appointments?  Tomorrow, Thursday, and maybe Saturday for labs.  Not sure yet when my first scan will be...

</div><div>GTKY: Ah!  I asked because we are going through this right now.  The 9mo is getting to be Very mobile, and she's currently sleeping sidecarred next to our bed.  The toddler is in the adjacent room in a toddler bed, but we are thinking of moving her up to a twin, 9m baby girl into the same room, and convert the toddler bed to a full size crib for her.  DD stayed in our room till 18 or 19 months though, and we love the sidecar setup for baby days, so I'm sad to have to possibly transition so soon... :/</div>

  • @BusinessWife - congratulations and welcome!  I understand the feeling of caution but sometimes our gut just knows when things feel right.  I will be sending good vibes for your beta tomorrow.

    How far along/EDD? 36w1d/June 21 c-section date
How are you feeling this week? Enormous and tired but unable to sleep.  Otherwise I'm doing well because I just started my maternity leave and I'm catching up on all my cleaning/organizing/nesting.
Rants/Raves? Questions?  Only 3 more weeks from today until I meet my baby boy.  I'm so excited!!!
Upcoming appointments? I'm on weekly appointments now and the next one is Thursday.  They are talking about moving up my c-section date by a week.  I'll probably find out for sure on Thursday.
GTKY: We just set up a bassinet in our room.  I'm a FTM, so not really sure what to expect. The plan is to keep him with us until he outgrows the bassinet and needs a crib.  We haven't purchased a crib yet so we are really playing it by ear.

@BusinessWife Congratulations and welcome!! An amazing anniversary gift for sure! ☺️

    How far along/EDD? 27 weeks | Aug. 30

How are you feeling this week? Feeling good! So many baby wiggles and kicks - it’s the best feeling ever. Also semi freaking out that I have only 3 months before there’s a baby in this house. It’s going so fast.

Rants/Raves? Questions? Super pumped to have passed my glucose tolerance test!! Was SO nervous I was going to fail, this baby wants allll the sweets. On the downside, bathroom trips have definitely increased - especially at night - like I’m waking up 3-4 times/ night. Also DH has yet to feel any kicks. I feel like baby knows when his hand is there and immediately goes quiet 😅 anyone else’s partner having the same issue?

Upcoming appointments? Next checkup  appt is June 9.

GTKY: Nursery is almost finished! We have a crib, mattress, 2 dressers (the top of one will double as a changing table) and our bassinet all put together. My shower is end of June so I’m sure we will have even more items to piece together and store somewhere. Our master bedroom is on the small side, especially the space next to my side of the bed, so DH and I discussed possibly having to switch sides once baby is born so I can be next to the bassinet. Otherwise I’ll be in the guest bedroom with the bassinet where there’s plenty of space. We also have 2 dogs that sleep in bed with us 😬 so it’ll be an interesting transition for them as well.
  • @kam174 Thank you!!! So exciting when you see it all coming together!  I would suggest if you are going to switch sides, just go for it sooner than later, so you (and the dogs lol) have time to adjust.  We have a mini crib sidecarred onto our bed on my side, and it's just a tiny little niche, but it fits just perfectly in the corner next to the radiator.  We kicked our big hairy dog out of bed and off of the 2nd floor all together actually, before our first baby arrived.  He would have just been too much.  It was rough at first (on DH mostly, he slept on the couch for a couple weeks to keep him company downstairs) but now everyone is adjusted again like normal.  You'll figure it out as needed!

@late_bloomer Thank you so much! Of course I find myself getting nervous all over again leading up to the bloodwork, but overall, I feel really good! And AFY, Eep!  You are getting so close!!!  Can I ask why they want to move up your section?  DD stayed in our room till 18 or 19 months when she moved into a toddler bed in her room, and it worked out great.  Meanwhile, this baby is scrambling all over the place and we are thinking we may need to move her into the 4-walled crib much sooner, basically for her safety, because she is trying to crawl out of the sidecar and onto our mattress already, and like, pulling up to stand and trying to fling herself over the little pillow barricade! 😯🤣 So yeah, you can play by ear as you see baby outgrowing the bassinet and how it's all been working for you.  Some moms keep the baby to room in longer, some really can't sleep well that way and make the switch sooner.  Personally I love having baby right there for early morning changes.  You can also bring the PNP into your bedroom and have baby sleeping in that beside your bed if it fits in your space, as a transition to the crib. ;)

Ooh!  Pro tip!  If you end up doing bottles at all (we nursed as long as we could but I had supply issues both times, so we did combo feeding from about 3 months on) go ahead and make room for a little mini fridge in your room.  You won't regret it!  I have a little formula station set up right there, and keep milk in the fridge for my toddler, too.  Makes it so much easier than going down in the kitchen all the time in the MOTN when everybody is tired, or in the morning while you're getting ready!
  • @kam174 - wow, you're more prepared than I am  :D.  Good for you!

@BusinessWife -  keep us updated on your numbers.  Fingers crossed for today! Thank you for the tips.  We are keeping the "nursery" simple now because we are also moving in a few weeks.  We did a huge renovation on our house and we thought it would be done before baby came but it's too close.  I don't want to bring baby home with a house full of boxes and missing appliances so we are staying in our townhouse with the baby for the first few weeks and will slowly transition into our other home.  Luckily my mom is coming for the Summer and my husband is off work all Summer so hopefully we will have enough hands to take care of baby and the move (fingers crossed).  As far as my due date moving up, I think it's mainly because of my age (45).  The baby is pretty big and they originally scheduled my c-section (due to a prior myomectomy) at 39 weeks.  They recently said 38 weeks may be better.  My only complications are fibroids, age, and IVF, but I think all 3 are risks for early labor.  I think they just want to make sure it's a scheduled c-section and not an emergency.
  • @late_bloomer Oh, that is exciting!  We have just started house hunting so we may be moving - hopefully before this baby is born, but if not, it is what it is.  I do think it's nice to keep it simple anyway.  There are SO MANY baby things, and I love having more space to move around.  So as soon as something is more or less outgrown I have been pulling it from the playroom, and it's been so nice.  It's great that you will have all that help, too!

AFM - First beta came back positive!  We are at 53.3, and they want to see over 50.  We also moved my beta up a day, so that's part of why it's maybe a bit on the lower side, it's still early.  I go back Thursday when they will want to see a 66% increase, and then most likely next Friday 6/11 for our first scan!  Eeep!!!
  • @BusinessWife - Yay!!! Congratulations!
  • kam174kam174 member
@BusinessWife congrats on your beta! And thanks for the mini fridge tip! I registered for the baby brezza instant warm water dispenser to keep in the nursery, but did not think about needing a fridge up there as well!

@late_bloomer I’m a control freak and needed everything in its place before a (potential) return to the office next week lol a move sounds so exciting though! Brand new place for a brand new baby ☺️ I’m also likely doing a scheduled c-section, so you’ll have to tell me how amazing and pain-free it is once you’ve had yours 😉 lol

  • @kam174. Thank you!  About to go for my second beta, trying to find the energy to get moving lol. Link??? My first instinct says you don't need that lol I just mix with properly filtered water and we are good.  DD actually always took a bottle COLD out of the fridge, no problem.  And even when little baby was more picky about it (we struggled with bottle acceptance with her) now she's totally fine. We mix all her bottles room temp and don't warm them at all lol so.... 🤷 For the brief time she needed them warm, I just microwaved a glass of water for 90 seconds and did a water-bath that way.  I did buy a thermos thing for hot water to warm on the go that was so big I only used it like twice. 🙄 But get whatever makes you happy!  I just keep a large bottle of filtered water and a tub of formula on top of the fridge.  That fridge you can keep using forever, if you are so inclined.  Haha Once upon a time we had a k-cup in our bedroom, too.  That's how it all started hahaha
  • Hi Ladies!
I'm cautiously dipping my toe in over here! I'm a STM and had my 2nd FET in May.  It's been a slow start with my betas, but so far LO is chugging along.

    How far along/EDD? 5W+5
How are you feeling this week? Fine, I had some twinges last week and yesterday was a little nauseous in the morning but i think that was my nerves not hormones since i didn't feel anything today.
Rants/Raves? Questions? My Rant is really at myself.  I was hoping to enjoy this pregnancy since it's most likely my last.  In my last pregnancy, I didn't actually believe it was happening until maybe the 3rd trimester and even then it didn't seem real.  But with the beta numbers starting off so rough I'm already so nervous.
    Upcoming appointments? Ultrasound next week.
GTKY: I'll do the PNP bassinet in our bedroom to start. We also have a DockATot that I LOVE! I used it a handful of times in the beginning with DS in our bed (I barely slept for first two nights at home and had my hand on his belly to make sure he was breathing).  But i love the DockATot for moving all over the house when i needed to set him down.  I also have a graco bassinet swing that we'll keep in the family room for daytime naps i think.  (we moved houses so we'll have to figure out our new process).  We kept DS in the PNP in our room for the first 5 months and then moved him to his crib.  Thankfully there was a bed in his upstairs room and i slept there for the first week of the transition.
  • Hey!  @blackhottamales  So happy to see you checking in here!  What is your EDD?  We need to make sure you get added to the list next week :)

<b>Update: </b> Second beta came back...
<div class=" Spoiler">195!!!  Yay!  We are PREGNANT!  Such a relief.  Now just to make it till next Friday and our first scan...</div>
  • Opp! I saw that it before i posted and then promptly forgot :)

EDD: January 29th. (haven't joined the Jan 2022 board yet....just not sure if i'm ready yet) DS came 3 weeks early though so i'm guessing i'll be squarely in january.
  • @blackhottamales BMBs can be hard.  Both of mine left for other platforms so I never even got to hear about the babies being born with my last one. :(
  • @sheenaco @sandeepa Over here!!! :)
  • @kam174 - I will be happy to share my experience of the c-section.  Went to the OB yesterday and she's keeping the date at June 21st, so it's just over 2 weeks away.  I'm not looking forward to the recovery but this baby is already estimated to be 7lbs 8 oz, so a natural birth to a 9 pounder wouldn't be a walk in the park either. Lol.

    @BusinessWife - congratulations on such a strong beta!  You're definitely pregnant ❤️.

@blackhottamales - welcome!  And I know what you mean about the worry.  I just started to accept that a baby is actually coming and I'm just over 2 weeks from birth. It's hard to get past all the doubt that comes from the IVF journey.  One thing that helped me was advice from someone on the IVF message boards.  She said to just be happy every day that you are pregnant.  That helped me reduce the worry.  I focused on that day, not the future outcome (which is probably why I'm just wrapping my head around actually having the baby 😂).

Hi Everyone. Cautiously hopping over here - getting positives from my first transfer. I’ve been on The Bump a while and co-admin the Bump PAIF Facebook group.

    How far along/EDD? 4w 1d - EDD is Feb 10
How are you feeling this week? Hopeful! I’m still just a POAS crazy person as I wait for my beta but everyday gets darker and I got the 2-3w on a Clear Blue Digital yesterday.
Rants/Raves? Questions? Nothing right now other than I wish I didn’t have to wait so long for my beta.
Upcoming appointments? Monday is beta 1. I’ve had positive tests before and lost the pregnancy later so I’m nervous but still more excited than anything.
GTKY: What are your plans for the nursery / baby's sleeping arrangements, or gear you have your eye on?
We just moved two months ago and there’s a perfect spot in my main bedroom for the PNP. I used/kept the Nuna Sena Mini & Dock a Tot from Parker and plan to use it again. This time around I probably won’t set up a nursery until 6m old. My DH currently sleeps In the spare most nights as he snores & Parker/Finn (dog) like to sleep with me.

@kam174 - I planning to get the water warmer too. I’m hoping to exclusively pump again for 3-6m and have my Baby Brezza bottle warmer still and when we move to formula use the water warmer and scoop. I sold my Formula Pro. I loved it but I think I’d rather the water warmer and scoops. Parker would take a room temp/cool bottle but I’d guess more soother/better for the tummy to be warmer.

Awesome news! FX for continued good new :-)

    @BusinessWife

Great betas!! I know how stressful this transfer must have been and I'm glad to see things going well!

I've been struggling to keep up wtih everyone this past few weeks now that DD is going to all sorts of lessons (that I need to ferry her to and from) and starts summer camp next week.

    Fashionably late:

How far along/EDD? 13 weeks this week! almost there!
How are you feeling this week? Just fine, honestly. Tired and having some cravings (last week I was dying for KFC mashed potatoes and gravy -- not the chicken, just the side. And I literally cannot even remember the last time I ate KFC. I just remember eating the mashed potatoes and gravy when I was little and I thought it tasted good (I was also in elementary school at the time so not exactly a mature palate)!!. DH refused to go to KFC but we ended up getting food from the most amazing chinese place. Our old reliable chinese take-out place has really gone down hill so I'm glad we found a new one. Americanized chinese food is my weakness.
Rants/Raves? Questions?Hmmm... none at the moment!
Upcoming appointments? Not for another 3 weeks. Fortunately I have my old trusty home doppler.
GTKY: What are your plans for the nursery / baby's sleeping arrangements, or gear you have your eye on?  If you're still early on, are you confident you will have a good set-up?  Or are you a little nervous how to make it work in your space?

With DD, we had this rose colored idea that she was going to sleep in a bassinet next to our bed for the first 6 months at least. It lasted...maybe a week? She absolutely HATED the bassinet. She likes to have lots of space so she was much more comfortable in her pack n' play and crib. We'll likely try that again and see how it goes.

Major issue w/ baby arrangements: We have a 4 bedroom place (well, 3 bedrooms and 1 spare room from the addition we put on). DD is staying in her room so the only option is to convert DH's office into baby room #2 -- I won't put her in my office (the spare room in the addition) because it has one wall that is just a massive sliding door leading out to our patio. Doesn't seem safe to me, especially because anyone could peek in at her.  But moving DH's office is super complicated, sigh.

Had a bit of a scare today -- I had gone into the office to get some forms and left out of the back door. I haven't been at the office much over the past year, but for ages, we had a ramp leading up to the back door rather than steps. They took out the ramp over the past year and put in steps.  I made the mistake to skim the forms I was holding rather than paying attention as I left. Unfortunately my auto-pilot still thinks there is a ramp there and I ended up falling down the stairs (about 4 stairs, maybe 3-4 feet high?). I actually basically FLEW like a cartoon character when I fell and skidded for a little bit once I hit the concrete pavement. Fortunately, I just got some big scrapes, road burn and a brusied, swollen knee that I have to stay off of for the next few days. Obviously, I was totally freaking out and called my OB  who felt a peace of mind scan would be warranted although it was unlikely there was any harm since I wasn't hurt too badly -- BUT just like with my last OB, his u/s tech doesn't come in on fridays. So I ended up calling my RE and going over there to get a scan. All is well , baby is chugging along, no membrane separation or bleeding detected.  I'm still shaking a little bit from the shock of it all though.

Oh wow!  That is a scare! @mbradfo2  I'm glad you were able to be resourceful and find a way to get checked out, and everything is okay. :)  That is a good reminder to be extra careful, for all of us. <3  I know DH is already worried about something like that happening to me, too... :/

I don't blame you for not wanting to use the sliding door room, but that also stinks that it's going to be a whole project moving YH's office.  I'm happy with our plan so far to just have the two girls room together, and then we will see what happens down the road.  I think they would be good for a while in the toddler bed and twin, and then if it gets to where we are still in the same house and it's time to move the third out of our room, technically we have the mini crib we could detach and put up the fourth wall in the same room with the girls, or maybe we would think about putting DD in her own room by then and having the two younger ones together.  BUT!  eliminating mommy's spare room is not necessarily a project I'm comfortable taking on right away lol, nor setting a precident that after we move everyone would be in their own rooms.  Sigh.
  • I decided to come over from the other board!

  • @sheenaco  Aww, classic Pooh will be so cute!
  • @sheenaco
I think the nursery sounds lovely! I kept changing my mind with DD and didn't actually settle on an idea until after she was born. I did a "Paris" themed nursery with major colors being gray and white with a few very dark grey accents (furnishings mostly)  --- which sounds incredibly dull but having the muted colors lets the other colors -- art, toys, decor -- really pop. I found a rug with a beautiful abstract design inspired by the Eiffel tower.  One trick for wall art which will work for you amazingly since your theme is Pooh Bear -- rather than trying to find individual prints, I bought a hardcover illustrated book or two (Madeline since the drawings are so lovely and feature all sorts of important locales in Paris) and cut out and then framed the illustrations. Now that DD is a 'big girl' I put up princess prints for her and took down the Madeline art, so maybe I'll use that for the new nursery.

If you couldn't tell, I love decorating haha

I understand the excitement of wanting to buy all the things -- one thing I learned with DD though is that babies are extremely picky. The pricey bassinet I got for my shower? She hated it. She only liked the halo swaddle sacks, refused any fabric carrier (and being carried like that in general)....we ended up always buying several different types/brands of an item, found out what she liked and then ordered more. Bibs ended up being a big thing as she got older and she HATED velcro bibs and plastic/rubber bibs. I found some nice soft cotton ones from Aiden and Anais that had a snap in the back so she couldn't rip it off.

I am basically just a swollen mess today from my fall (both knees swollen, right arm which broke my fall scraped up, swollen and sore. The only thing that seems to help are ice packs and I'm trying to keep my feet up per my mom's orders, heh. I told my husband all I can do today is play video games and watch movies with DD haha.

Sorry for the delayed responses here!

    @sheenaco welcome and congratulations!

    @late_bloomer good luck tomorrow!

@mbradfo2 Hope you’re feeling much better by now, and glad the scan showed that baby is ok. How scary! 😢

@BusinessWife here’s the link for the baby brezza warm water dispenser ☺️ Thinking it’ll be much easier to clean (and a lot cheaper) than the full blown baby brezza machine.

Hope everyone is doing and feeling well 😊

  • @kam174 that does look nice and compact!

AFM, we had our 6+ week scan this morning, and w<span>e heard the heartbeat! 128 and measuring perfectly on track for 6+5. I wasn't really worried, but it's almost impossible not to catch nerves as you're about to go in... Beta also came back at 53,621. Such a relief!</span>
  • Hi Ladies.  I've been out of touch because I had my baby boy on Monday (6/21/21).  He was a big boy - 8lbs 10ozs and his name is Gabriel.  We are totally in love with the little guy ❤️.

@kam174  - the c-section wasn't too bad.  The procedure itself was relatively pain free. I got a spinal block but it only stings like a bee sting.  The rest of the time you just feel pressure.  Mine lasted a little longer than an hour but the baby was out in 15 minutes and they laid him on my chest for a while while they continued to work on me.  It was so magical, I didn't even think about what else was happening.  Then they took him away to the nursery with my husband while they finished up with me but I got to be with him again quickly (maybe 30 minutes later).  They have been giving me IV Motrin for the pain and that's been strong enough for me.  My pain level has stayed around a 2 or 3 out of 10 and I was up walking some today.  My experience was better than I expected.  I hope yours is the same.

I wish you all of the best!! I'll be back on when I can.
