Trying to Get Pregnant

WTO Wednesday 6/2

    WAYDTGKU: hopefully Letrozole & TI

    R/R: I called my OB’s office yesterday and spoke with the nurse on the line. She said if I didn’t hear back from her yesterday to call today since time is of the essence if I’m going to start Letrozole this cycle (my OB was super busy with patients yesterday - he works in multiple offices so he’s only in my local office two days a week). The office opens at 9 so I’ll give them a bit after they open before I call. I’m really hoping  OB will be on board. I may look into seeing a RE if not.

    CS/Q:

  • Loading the player...
  • @gingermama29 FX that your OB is on board! Mine automatically referred me to an RE when I told her we had not been successful for one year and I was surprised at first but now I'm thankful that we're going straight to the best help we can get.

    Month/Cycle: 13/13

    CD: 16

    WAYDTGKU: the things

    R/R: Somehow the band on my temp drop came apart so I had to re-do it, but I realized that I've been wearing it a lot tighter than I normally would and as a result my temps are super low. So, my chart's probably going to be a little off this cycle. Oh well. Oh, another rant: since I'm taking a leave of absence next year, someone has to take over the AP class that I teach. Well apparently I was still expected to come up with the summer reading assignment even though they already have someone to teach the class? Um, no thanks. How annoying....

    CS/Q:

  • @gingermama29 I hope he's on board! Also, glad I'm not the only one who doesn't call *right* when offices open. 😬 They never answer that early anyway!

    @fameonmain2 feels like the new teacher should be setting the assignment...since, you know, they'll be the one discussing it with the class when school's back, right??

    Month/Cycle: n/a, 0 AL

    CD: 14

    WAYDTGKU: bbt/cm, benched

    R/R: rant/rave? Amazon officially declared my package (with my FRERs, and laundry detergent that we are almost out of 😬) lost, so I requested a refund this morning. So rant that they lost it, but I suppose rave because, inevitably, that package will show up and I'll get 6 FRERs for $9, SO TAKE THAT, CVS, trying to charge $30 for the combo triple check 3 pack.

    CS/Q: in unsurprising news, 0 signs point to ovulation yesterday, but I did have EWCM this morning 🙌
  • @pajamstagrams I know, right? I had originally offered to set up the summer reading if they didn't have a teacher for it, but once they did I even told them that the new teacher could handle it, right? I even sent them the ones I created for the last three years... I mean come on! Sorry about your Amazon package, but glad it's a company that's usually pretty good (at least in my experience) about refunds. And yay for EWCM!

    @fameonmain2 wtf. That definitely shouldn’t be your responsibility.

    @pajamstagrams boo for a lost package but yay for getting that many FRERs for $9! It’s  stupid how expensive those are.
  • @gingermama29 I hope the ob gets back to you quickly.

    @fameonmain2 wow, that's super frustrating. You'd think the person teaching the class would have to do it since summer reading is more an extension of the upcoming year than of the past year.

    @pajamstagrams woo EWCM!

    WAYDTGKU: bbt, cm, opks, preseed, cinnamon supplements

    R/R: Today feels like a weird day for some reason. I think it's because it's the day between my summer class sessions and I'm working an early shift that I don't normally work. Hoping I can stay awake thia afyernoon and qork on my next sewing project and maybe a little cleaning depending on how my back is.

    CS/Q: would love to see even a little darkening on opks but who knows, based on my typical cycles I could O anytime between now and 10 days from now.

  • @gingermama29 👏👏👏 yay letrozole!!

    @fameonmain2 why in the world would they think you should come up with the reading assignment??? Why are people so weird about these things

    @pajamstagrams I love a cheap FRER ❤️

    @fantasyflyte weird to be out routine isn't it?

  • @inthewoods23 hugs ❤️ and absolutely spoil the sh*t outta your cat 😺

    @fantasyflyte this whole week feels weird to me, due to the Monday holiday. I keep forgetting today is Wednesday.
  • @fantasyflyte oooh what’s your sewing project?

    @inthewoods23 sending so many hugs today 💕 Give your kitty all the love and snuggles.
  • @inthewoods23 I’m sorry about the date, those days are really hard. But love the idea of spoiling your kitty. ❤️

    @gingermama29 woohoo! Yay for medicated cycle!

    @fameonmain2 what the heck with the reading assignment. That makes zero sense.

    Month/Cycle: 3/3

    CD: 5

    WAYDTGKU: Mira, Proov, PNV, Coq10, Mosie (I feel like my list reads like a bunch of alien spaceships or something)

    R/R: I’m dealing with a project at work that my boss is making infinitely more complicated than it needs to be. I work for a large company and sometimes the bureaucracy makes me want to set myself on fire.

    CS/Q: took my first Proov test this cycle to establish a baseline (used to compare against tests after O to confirm ovulation). I still think it’s weird to look for the ABSENCE of a second line (as opposed to OPKs/preg tests where I’m squinting for that second line).

  • @fantasyflyte I always feel weird when my responsibilities are lightened haha. What's your next sewing project?

    @inthewoods23 hugs today <3 hopefully the office is a nice distraction.

    @rachelredhead I know, I am so annoyed. I hate when others make simple tasks complicated. lol @ your list of alien spaceships!

    @rachelredhead your list does kind of sound like some alien spaceships! That, or the names of some high-intensity training programs.

    (Edit to add a thought)

    Month/Cycle: 2

    CD: 13

    WAYDTGKU: BBT, Charting, OPKs

    R/R: I know I've complained about this before, but the way DH has me tracking calories (we're trying to lose weight together, and he's big into working out and fitness and stuff), I feel like I can't eat at all. It's becoming dangerous, feeling like I have to starve myself to save calories. I'm just really frustrated with the whole thing. DH just tells me, "Don't let it get to you. You can't let that bother you." Same thing with getting pregnant. My cycles have been somewhat irregular since getting off BC in the winter, ranging from 23 days to in the 30s. I only have one cycle of minimal data, but I've been doing OPKs and have yet to see ANY darkening. Maybe I just have a short surge. DH thinks I should lay off doing OPKs so I can stop stressing over them.

    TLDR: I'm super stressed out about things I shouldn't be, but I can't seem to calm down. I know I shouldn't be stressed, but I get overwhelmed with things quickly when they add up.

    CS/Q: None

  • @awello I know I am extra touchy on food subjects because I have an eating disorder history but I just want you to know that feeling starved or overwhelmed by calorie counting is not ok. And it sounds like it’s adding to your stress. I’d encourage you to think about what kind of food relationship would make you feel strong and healthy, as opposed to what food relationship will make you lose weight. And your husband should be able to understand that what works for one person’s food relationship doesn’t automatically work for another (especially comparing men and women). Weight/food stuff is such an emotional minefield, adding that anxiety on top of TTC can’t feel good and I’m sorry.
  • awelloawello member
    @rachelredhead I'm so sorry you've been through an eating disorder. I can only imagine it's a different level of hell than other psychiatric disorders. Thank you so much for your words.
  • @rachelredhead I hate work for that reason too. I'm always amazed at some of the decisions made that affect us low on the totem pole people and it's just like... Did you not think to ask our opinion on the matter??

    @awello I would ditch the calorie counting. I think that doesn't work for a lot of people. Plus it's time consuming! There are soany better ways to "watch" what you eat for weight loss. DH and I did a program through his work that let's you eat basically anything you want except for a handful of things. There's also only a handful of snack suggestions (like X number of chips, fruit, tbsp of peanut butter, etc). The main premise is that you only eat when you are truly hungry and eat slowly so that you actually savor your food and so that your brain has time to register when you are actually full (so you don't end up feeling stuffed). Calories don't matter! So if you want that hefty chicken Alfredo then you get to eat it!

  • @awello FWIW i can't calorie count/track like that either, it stresses me out so much, and somehow makes me even hungrier, and I'm miserable. I stopped doing that years ago and it's worked for me. I just watch my alcohol consumption since that's the #1 easiest way I gain weight. And I've found exercise I enjoy (which means there is absolutely no running), which makes it so much easier to be motivated.
  • awelloawello member
    @inthewoods23 that program sounds amazing! I tried that Noom program, which ultimately didn't work for me.

    @pajamstagrams What kind of exercise do you like to do?

  • @awello the program we did is called Naturally Slim! I'm not sure how much it costs but there is a 10 week course that says you can lose 10lbs in 10 weeks! I think the motto is something like "it's not what you eat, it's how you eat". There's no such thing as a cheat day unless you decide to really indulge. I didn't even follow all the rules and it still worked well. One of them being that you eat one thing at a time and once you move on to the next food you can't go back. Say you have a chicken breast, some potatoes, and a veggie for your meal. If you start with the chicken and decide you don't have a taste for that anymore and want to eat the veggie, then you aren't supposed to go back and eat more of the chicken later. I said heck no to that one.

  • @awello agree w/ what others said above. If counting calories feels too overwhelming or like you're starving yourself, then it's not worth it. As for catching your surge, have you tried Clear Blue Advanced Digital? It's pricey, but I have a pretty quick surge and it definitely helped me catch it more easily.
  • @awello I do weightlifting and CrossFit style workouts. I've found time and time again that keeping my heart rate elevated for a long period is disastrous for my health (migraines, water retention, inflammation, etc) so I keep the cardio/intensity lower when I do CrossFit style stuff. I don't mind some cardio, but 30 min of heart rate in a "cardio" heartrate zone never ends well for me. I do much better keeping it in a "fat burn" zone (ie under 130).

    Also: I'm not actually that strong, but I don't let that stop me. I was routinely in "last" when I went to CrossFit classes at the gym, but it didn't bother me at all. Everyone needs to start somewhere 🤷‍♀️ I have my personal goals, and while they aren't as impressive as others who weight lift, I'm pretty dang proud of my progress, and in the end, that's what motivates me.

    @fameonmain2 I do have the Clear Blue Advanced Digital, but I've been using cheapy strips while I wait for the line to get any darker. Can I ask how many times per day you tested with the Clear Blue to catch your surge?

    (Edit because I'm ahead of myself and didn't finish typing!)

    @pajamstagrams My sister does weightlifting, and I know she loves it. (She's even doing a bodybuilding competition this summer. I'm super proud of her!) I hate running and cardio, but I've found walking to be enjoyable!

  • @awello So once I got the flashing smiley I started testing 2x a day (morning and early evening) and using that I caught my surge. But until the flashing only FMU
  • @gingermama29 woooo on the med!

    Also @fameonmain2 I'm not sure what I'm going to sew yet, I have some shirts I want to try, but I think I'm actually going to wait until this weekend because I want to get some coordinating fabrics first.
    @inthewoods23 hugs for you.
    @rachelredhead ugh, office bureaucracy sucks.
    @awello I'm sorry the tracking is stressing you out. Do you have to track or can you do something else like a food diary minus the numbers?
