I take my kids to school by bike...and today I realized that after delivery I'll have to pause that for a minute (I'm guessing the 6 weeks). I despise sitting in the car rider lane...
@kandb4 That's really cool! Biking to school around me would be a harrowing experience. There are a couple schools in town that would be bikeable, but all the ones in our district are off busy 2-lanes with no shoulder, sadly.
I realized that I have been unconsciously clenching my abs for probably a week straight because my belly feels saggy and stretchy when I stand up. That set up an anxiety feedback loop where I couldn't breathe deeply enough, so I'd get anxious and clench tighter. So, I don't know who needs to hear this -- relax your abdominals, breathe deep into your belly, embrace the stretch.
I have pregnancy brain so badly. I just fumbled the door handle walking into my office, like my hand slipped awkwardly off the door handle and I bumped into the door. And I instinctively said "oh sorry!" as an apology, as if the door was a person. 🤦♀️ Even better, my five coworkers witnessed my apology TO THE DOOR. And now I'll never hear the end of it 😂
DH was finally able to feel the baby move. I knew she had kicked right where he was pressing down and he got a weird look on his face. I played dumb and didn’t say anything and then he described what I felt and I told him, “that is her!”
@mac-n-cheesy oh I’m so jealous!!! I’ve been trying to have DH feel mine too, because I’ve felt a few with my own hand but nothing yet. Were you laying down when he felt it??
@mac-n-cheesy That's awesome! DH loves our children, but pregnancy grosses him out. When I was pregnant with DS#1, we were laying in bed together, right after DtD and the baby kicked him... he was done, with all of it, until after baby was born!
Ever since posting about ice cream sandwiches, I have been craving one. I got one at the gas station today. Also, on an ice cream related note. DH deemed our neighborhood "a soft serve ice cream desert." We then made the goal to try and hit every soft serve place in the tri county area over the summer. So every Saturday evening we are home we'll venture to a new ice cream place. Goals
Got my first kick today on camera!! Subtle, but totally there. DH could see it too on the video which I was super excited about since he hasn’t been able to see or feel anything yet.
@madiirosee yes I was lying down and had just ate a sugary popsicle. I find that if I eat something like that and lie down for awhile she moves a lot more! That’s so cool that you got movement on video. How exciting! @chindimples04 thats awesome that you got video too. @cenzosmomma I think if my SO felt her kick after DtD he might get a little freaked out too. Eventually it’ll be unavoidable though!
I've been feeling some more movement as well. Last week I thought it was gas, but it is definitely not subtle anymore. I thought maybe he had hiccups last night? But maybe it's too early for that?
Also so excited to see other BMB's open up! This pregnancy is flying but also feels like I have been pregnant for forever.
I finally felt movement too !!!! Last Saturday, lying on the couch. It was amazing! I’ve felt the baby moving several times since then. Always when I’m lying down and all is quiet
@kandb4 we live right next to our elementary school, it’s like a one block walk and I’m so thankful to walk and not have to deal with the line or the crazy parking lot! We walk as much as we can, in the winter if it was really windy we didn’t (or like -20°) but otherwise we bundled up and walked because I hate driving a block away 🤣
Ok so here’s my crazy pregnancy brain yesterday. Walked my 5 yo to prek with my 3 yo in tow. Forgot his mask. Called my husband and desperately asked him to drive the mask over because we were still 2 minutes out from his teacher coming out to get everyone which is enough time for him to drive over but not enough time to walk back! All the while my 3 yo is fiercely holding herself and jumping and yelling I HAVE TO GO POTTY! but we can’t go in bc DS doesn’t have his mask and my husband is driving over. So he gets there a minute later with the mask, we run up and make it in time with the teacher still at the door, my daughter runs up and says Miss K! Miss K! I have to go potty! Still fiercely holding her vagina 🤣🤣🤣 we get the okay to run in and use the bathroom, and when we walk back out the front I realize, oh F, my phone is in my sons backpack side pocket! So I have to go in and ask the admin to go ask his teacher for it 🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈
It was the biggest hot mess 10 minutes of all time.
@kitandcat our elementary is next to our neighborhood too....so convenient! It's about a mile round trip. The preschool is about 3 miles round-trip and part of it is a curvy 2 lane road...most people are biker courteous but I've had a few that pass me going to fast or too close to me. Luckily they'll both be in elementary next year 😅
And oh my goodness....your mask/potty story had me giggling out loud 😂 so relatable!! And oy vey, the need to hold the private parts, my son does this too...cracks me up...I heard you say you had to go no need to drive it home by doing the crotch grab 🤦♀️
One of my grade level leaders at my school took a new position, leaving the leadership role open. I am not the most senior member on my team but I was offered the position because of all the amazing work I’ve put in to helping get our brand new school up and running this year. I am SO excited for this opportunity and grateful I was considered, even with being on maternity leave for part of the year next year! ❤️
