Trying to Get Pregnant

WTO WEDNESDAY 5/26

    Happy hump day!

    Month/Cycle: 3

    CD: 4

    WAYDTGKU: OPKs, BBT, CM

R/R: MH decided to get up and run so he could be back in time before I left for my 6 am gym class. Maybe not the right move, we’re both dead, but with it being so hot/humid here it’s definitely better for him to do it in the morning. But I’m not willing to go to the gym after work so I guess if we both want to exercise, this is how we’ll have to do it 🥴

CS/Q: starting bbt tomorrow. No Q’s

  • awelloawello member

@b_1029 I'm the total opposite when it comes to exercising. Granted, I'm only walking for exercise at this point, but I like doing it after work. I find it stress-relieving after a long day! (It's at that point where I live when it's getting hot, though, although not so much humid.)

    Month/Cycle: 2

    CD: 6

    WAYDTGKU: BBT, Charting, OPK

R/R: I like when my husband helps out around the house. I work a "hybrid" schedule, so I work from home some days, work at the office some days, but I do most of the stuff around the house. He did the laundry last night after dinner, but always leaves it half-done. I never say anything to him, just finish it up for him, but I always try to appreciate when he does help out, because he works so hard at his job. Basically, I'm trying not to be nitpicky.

CS/Q: Had a random temperature spike this morning, but I think it's either due to the fact I was moving around a lot last night and got up to use the bathroom at 2:00 this morning, or I'm curious if it's from my first vaccine dose, which I got on Monday.

(Hoping I did the spoiler right!)

@awello I don’t love waking up early, but have always been a morning workout person. I dread it all day if I know I am after work 😆 but that started while I was swimming in college and they’d separate the women’s and men’s teams for Saturday workouts, and I hated when we were 2nd. Watching everyone else being done knowing we still had to do the whole thing was 👎🏻
That’s nice YH helps out even if he doesn’t finish. I also try to not say anything when MH does stuff halfway (like laundry) because I’m just so happy he finally did something haha. Low bar.

@b_1029 ooh, you were a competitive swimmer? I was in high school until I broke my ankle and missed the entire summer training season. Breaststroke was my specialty.

  • b_1029b_1029 member
@awello ugh that stinks! Yes I was, and was also a breaststroker :)
  • @b_1029 Way to go getting exercise in this morning!

@awello It’s so hard sometimes to appreciate the effort and not fuss about what’s left undone. Good for you!

R/R: The fence installers came a day early and got almost the entire thing put up yesterday! It makes me feel old to be this excited about a new fence, lol. My rant today is that I’m making a fancy cake for a friend’s birthday this weekend and I’m having trouble finding one of the ingredients in nearby grocery stores. I may have to order online, which is annoying.

    CS/Q: Nope

    Wrong thread 😅
  • @b_1029 you're a stronger person than I am, to get up that early lol

@awello is it warm where you are? That could factor in too. I know it's been pretty hot where I live.

@abjm0325 wooo fence! And boo difficult ingredient! I kind of want cake now, but it's already almost 80 degrees here and not even 11am yet, so maybe I'll have DH get something at the store today.

@inthewoods23 having the windows open is so nice. We had to turn on the ac over the weekend, but went back to windows yesterday and Monday, and I'm hoping to avoid it today.

R/R: I really wish I could figure out what's going on with my back. Sitting for a bit makes it hurt. It hurts when I get up if I sleep in bed. But walking around helps, and sleeping on the couch lets me wake up with no pain. I slept on the couch last night so my back feels okay, and I'm trying a heat pad immediately to see if that helps fend it off.

CS/Q: FF still on drugs, maybe a lower temp tomorrow will fix it, I dunno. I think I'll start OPKs this afternoon, so I'm 95% sure if and when I get a positive one, it'll reconfigure the CH.

@inthewoods23 ugh, I hated butterfly! Butterfly was definitely the death of me. And I love 70-degree weather, sometimes 80. It's been in the 90s here where I live, which isn't too bad yet.

(edit to add reply. also, words are hard.)

@fantasyflyte yeah, it's starting to get warm here!

  • b_1029b_1029 member
@abjm0325 what kind of fancy cake are you making that requires a special ingredient! I feel ya on the adult stuff haha it’s the smallest things that make me happy now. And the fence is a big thing! That’s great they nearly finished yesterday!

@inthewoods23 oh man I couldn’t do fly to save my life, the only reason I was decent at IM was because it was the first stroke and I was fresh off the blocks lol. That sounds like amazing weather, enjoy! It’s allegedly only 79 here but it’s so humid it feels like a million degrees.

@fantasyflyte I just trick my body into moving before I’m awake to fight it. I’m sorry about your back, not sure what happened but I hope it feels better soon.
  • @fantasyflyte we drop to 50 tomorrow and 47 for a high on Friday. Better enjoy my open windows while I can today. I need to check when it's supposed to start dropping so I don't have our windows open for too long that it gets chilly in the house.

@awello butterfly was my best stroke besides freestyle so I always died during those sets of practice :tired_face: Meanwhile I felt everyone getting to do breast or backstroke had it easier. I have scoliosis too so butterfly was likely also just aggravating my back a bit. Funny how my leg/arm coordination was so good with butterfly but coordination for breaststroke made me slow AF.

  • @b_1029 I'd lose so much of my momentum in the IM race during breaststroke :D My coach often had me doing the butterfly for the IM relay. I will bust my ass for a 50 of butterfly for sure, but the 100 butterfly race I'd struggle that last 25 for sure haha. I have never been good with the endurance aspect of races.

  • @inthewoods23 Haha, that new kitchen faucet sounds life-changing!

@fantasyflyte It is always a good day for cake. Always. Hope your back feels better soon!

@b_1029 I’m obsessed with making Milk Bar cakes which take me days to construct because of the steps involved and because I’m slow. This one will be a chocolate malt marshmallow monstrosity.

R/R: I have been so busy the last couple of weeks that I have not had time to be checking in on these discussions like I would like too - but busy has been good because it is helping my impatient self to not sit & impatiently wait for ovulation to happen. I am hoping I can keep myself busy during the TWW after I ovulate this time because last time I was way too obsessive & not busy enough to keep my mind off of it.

CS/Q: I went to see a new OBGYN on friday because I was unhappy with my other one - this one seemed great so hopefully it will work out - also it is closer to home so that is a plus. Just curious, how are you all deciding on where you want to give birth at when it comes your time? I am already thinking ahead (assuming/hoping I can get pregnant) & even though I live in a rural area, we have a lot of options within 45 minutes of us. Is it too early to be thinking about these things?

    @cdc101
    ***TW*** Mental health talk

I personally think about those kind of things already, even though I'm only on month 2 of TTC, but I have a severe mental health condition that requires quite a few medications. I'm already trying to decide whether or not to breastfeed, because breastfeeding means delaying going back on medication after delivery. My psychiatrist and I have already discussed what meds need to change/discontinue once I get a positive test. But there are so many things I think about, because I feel like if I'm prepared enough, I'll have an easier time with my disorder during pregnancy and postpartum. I'm at high risk of postpartum psychosis, which honestly kind of scares me, but my desire for having children outweighed my fears of being a "bad bipolar mom".

Sorry for the long ramble, but I definitely feel you on some level regarding knowing what you want and being prepared.

  • @cdc101 *tw* spoilering for talk of pregnancy and MC and because this is way off proper topic for this thread
I definitely had that kind of question early on as I've known for some time that my usual OB does not deliver babies. Besides the paps and such, his focus is mostly on reproductive/urinary surgeries. Having been at this for nearly 4 years trying for a baby I have worked with an RE in attempting to get pregnant so when I did get unexpectedly pregnant naturally last year I called them for my betas and initial ultrasounds because I knew I could be seen early at 6.5 weeks and in the meantime find an OB that would deliver me.

I asked a friend for a recommendation besides the hospital my RE is out of and ended up choosing the practice she goes to. I didn't have a great experience with my RE when it came to the ultrasounds (some reviews will say her bedside manner isn't great. She is caring and wants to get us all pregnant but the reviews aren't totally wrong). So when I started having more significant bleeding I called the OB about it instead of the RE and was scheduled to come in around 2pm. I hadn't even had my initial intake appointment with the OB but I got to meet with one of the nurses and an ultrasound tech to confirm I had miscarried (my bleeding started in the morning and by lunch the MC happened so it turned into an appointment to confirm if anything was left in my uterus). My initial intake appointment was kept to use as the follow up post-MC to meet with the OB for the first time. So now should I get KU again I will just call them right away and not go through my RE.

And FWIW I am such a planner that of course something like where I would deliver was already on my mind. In the same vein, I basically already knew what style of wedding dress I wanted from watching shows so many years prior to getting married. It was just a matter of finding the one that I liked best. I think it's totally normal to have some idea on that kind of stuff before you even need it. A current example for me is that I'm already thinking about what I need to pack for or summer vacation that isn't until mid July :D
